Delightful afternoon tea experience at the Ritz, will come again with friends.
Great location, standard fare at high prices. Would go back only when staying at Ritz.
Food and service was great !
Shoshito peppers were fantastic. Short ribs also. Very nice menu, casual and friendly atmosphere.
Service is inconsistent for a Sunday morning brunch at the price of $55/plate. The food is ok and there are plenty of selections. If you are considering this brunch vs the brunch at the Four Seasons (2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW), go with the Four Seasons. You will not be disappointed.
Interesting and clean style. Modern. Bit distracting being open to the lobby and the music was not conducive to a peaceful tea time. Food was good. Service was better. Tea was well prepared if a bit limited in choice.
The problem is the inconsiderate parents who bring very small children who scream and cry. It would be great if they were not permitted in the back part of the restaurant.
Always well taken care of.
Delicious food and FANTASTIC wait staff!!!!! Perfect for out of town guests and visitors.
Everything from the ambiance, service to the food was wonderful!!
Worst dining experience at a Ritz-Carlton ever. Had a reservation and got seated right away. Waited 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. Rafi came and introduced himself as the assistant manager (?) and said it was his job to make sure everything was perfect. He told us our server Holly would be there soon. We never saw him again. Holly finally arrived 5 minutes later. She appeared to be the only server in the dining room and was doing her best, but she had more than she could handle. Rafi had disappeared. Ordered drinks and asked for water. Another 5 minutes before we got water. (We've now been there 20 minutes). My husband always orders a Campari drink. It came and did not look or taste like Campari and was white-orange in color. He asked Holly to bring another shot of Campari. 10 minutes later she came back and said they didn't have any Campari. So the bartender had obviously tried to fake the drink. Why not just say they didn't have any Campari? I ordered salmon and two hours later was violently ill. It was a disaster of an evening and we will never return. We have stayed and dined at Ritz- Carltons all over the world and this was far below R-C standards.
A great kept secret. Lunch at the Ritz, great value and inexpensive valet parking.
It’s intimate and a lovely atmosphere alone or with a small group. Service is outstanding. And menu is concise and delicious. I would return for sure.
Fyve at The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City is the ideal place for a business breakfast in the Pentagon-Pentagon City area. The food is superb and the service is friendly and attentive. The location is convenient to Metro and stores.
This is a moderately nice restaurant in Ritz-Carlton.
Quiet week night. Server was very attentive. Food was outstanding! French onion soup and beef wagu ravioli... Very filling too.
Outstanding service all the way set the tone for a very enjoyable lunch.
Everything was excellent except for the large load group that came in. Also would be better if the bar was located in a different area. Very loud people. Only service complaint is the water glasses were not kept full very well.
I went for Valentine’s Day thinking I would get one of the nicer rooms in the back as I have before. This was not the case and I was highly disappointed as if I would’ve known that I wouldn’t have received the ambiance I was expecting, I would’ve looked elsewhere as I sat in the bar area
Not exactly the level of decor I was expecting from a Ritz Carlton AT ALL! However, the food was awesome and the service was very attentive.
A friend and I take our daughters to tea there once a year. Its always a delightful treat. I nice way to spend an afternoon during a dull time of year.
I had afternoon tea here and would not recommend. They shamefully used tea bags instead of loose leaf tea for one, and it was barely warm. The one scone I got was ok, served with the traditional jam, clotted cream, and lemon curd, but the rest of the items on the tray(sandwiches and pastries) were small and average tasting. The wait staff was very polite but seemed a little inexperienced.
It wasn't a horrible experience, but I can't say that I would return as there are a lot more options in the city if you are looking for a proper 'high tea'.
This was our 3rd New Years Eve dining night out at the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City 31 December 2018. We like the Fyve. The things that Ritz Carlton can control were very good, thus 5 stars are given for the food and service. Our server, "Ms. Holy," was superb! We will give the Fyve another try on 31 December 2019.
We had dinner with the wine pairing. Fyve did a fantastic job on food preparation and wine selection as usual.
About beverage service, this needs better coordination. I was drinking chardonnay wine when we were seated. I also ordered sparkling water. When my water glass was about half empty, a new person automatically refilled the glass with regular water. I reordered new sparkling water which was later charged. My wife was drinking a martini when we were seated. She had regular water on the side. When our appetizer course with wine pairing was served, my chardonnay remained and I was also served the wine pairing. My wife was not served the wine pairing. She notified Holy. My wife was immediately served the wine pairing. Thanks to "Holy," the remainder of the dinner was fantastic!
I am almost embarrassed to give a 1 star to Fyve for Ambiance. That night, I wore a black tuxedo and my wife wore a beautiful black gown. We were seated in the Fyve next to a gentleman wearing a baseball cap, sports T-shirt, and denim jeans. A lady accompanying the gentleman was wearing denim jeans and a sweatshirt. This couple did not make eye contact or speak to us. Seated on the opposite side of us was a woman dressed in a puffy coat, knit hat, and scarf. She remained fully dressed for snow and cold throughout her dinner. She talked loudly and endlessly at her dinner fare and hot tea beverage, but did not make eye contact or talk with us.
The 2-piece acoustic and electric guitar band with vocals was nice. The music was improvisational 1970's jazz, and thus, not appropriate for dancing as in the previous two years at Fyve.
Best, Rick S
Family dinner for new year's eve. Wonderful menu and wine pairings. Great service.
What can be better than the Ritz? Nothing. From valet parking to food it’s a total winner and worth the time. Try it once you will return. We do brunch there on Xmas Day for the last 5 years.
My husband and I had Christmas brunch at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City on Christmas day, and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. First, their holiday brochure said, “Fyve Restaurant Lounge invites guests…” So, we expected brunch in Fyve, but instead we were sent upstairs to your gigantic, noisy ballroom, which was so packed with people, tables, and chairs that one could barely move. Frankly, we would have turned around and left had they not required us to provide a credit card number in advance—something that surprised me when I made the reservation.
When we were seated, the waiter offered us sparkling wine/mimosas, and we were surprised to learn that only one drink was included in the (exorbitant) $99 price of brunch. Our table was so small and wobbly that we kept knocking things over as we reached for the salt or our water glass. We banged into others’ chairs as we moved around, and they banged into ours. The food was good but nothing special given the cost, and the service was haphazard—not because the wait staff were inattentive but because there were too few of them. Our bill came to $266, which would have bought us dinner at a fine restaurant, not the equivalent of a college dining hall.
We expected a much better experience at a Ritz Carlton Hotel. Suffice it to say, we won’t be back next year, and we will advise our friends to stay away as well.
Christmas brunch. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the decorations, service, food selection and quality. We are already want to make reservations for 2019 brunch!!!
The parfait was watery. Strange.
AS ALWAYS A PERFECT EVENING. Lovely dining room, the tables are well spaced, the food is delicious, enjoyed the bread basket. But real kuddos to the service, perfect service.
Service was lacking. The appeared to be understaffed both days we went for dinner. Now the food was excellent! So good that I ordered the same thing for dinner both days and breakfast was equally as good.
My experience at Fyve will guarantee that I return time & again. They provide creative meals, interesting cocktails, & a fine dining experience. No stuffiness, just a great experience.
Been going to this property for 19 years and it's always top shelf service, food, and ambiance.
We are celebrating my son birthday yesterday evening, the service was exceptional, the entré was superior!!
Food was basically good, if not a bit on the heavily flavored side. Overall a good experience
Excellent service, great food and drinks! Highly recommend for special occasions and a quaint date night. Their brunch is amazing!
Our sever Dino was attentive and very knowledgeable. Food was great. Highly recommend the Ravioli for dinner. Loaded with flavor! Highly recommend this restaurant!
The service was five star unfortunately the food was not worth the price tag. Eggs made to order. Ordered two over-easy; cook broke both yolks. Isn't there a reason a person orders eggs over-easy? Breaking the yolks forfeits that reason.
Excellent food and very attentive staff.
