Fuze Restaurant - 79th Street - Avalon Ratings and Reviews
The chef is amazing due to his unique fushion of worldly foods. He could match the best of the best LA and NYC executive chefs any day. We have frequented Fuze for six years and never have had anything remotely mediocre. Steve, the executive chef, has a passion for fresh food with inspirations from our shore to different continents. Service is also primo and only happy faces are will be seen at Fuze.
Fuze was an unexpected surprise. The piano player was really a nice touch and the food
For the most part delightful. The grilled swordfish was very flavorful and my guest loved
the octopus appetizer...but the ceasar salad was bland and no anchovy, what's with that?
My main complaint was the decor...sort of 80's bad. I'm just saying, time to match the decor to the food.
Hadn't been to Fuze Restaurant-79th Street,Avalon in a couple of years as it is a bit pricey. But,I went back on the recommendation of a foodie friend, and I was glad I did. The staff is excellent- the bartenders, hostess, the bus/water folks, the waiters, the musicians. The dining room is very pretty. And,the main reason for going-the food: also excellent. I had the crab cocktail for my appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I even tried to slow down while eating it because I didn't want to finish it! My friend and I both had the scallops, and I'm sorry to be repetitive, but they were delicious, too.
Fuze is now on my list for a must-do when I'm in Avalon.
I thought this meal was very expensive. Not sure if the meal was worth the money spent. the big plus here was that it had a bar since we were celebrating. Ordered the Lump Crab Coctail and is came with Avocado spread on top in a dish with some kind of red spicy sauce poured around it. It was NOT described this way on menu $17 We did not eat. Complained to waited that we didn't like and they simply took it away. No credit. The Halibut was very good however as was Cavatelli with short rib appetizer. Main course was good, pricey but good (not great)
We have dined here several times and had excellent meals and experience. Sadly this past weekend one of the meals was served cold and taken back three times and still cold. Kept trying to reheat same meal. Guest did not eat and no offer to take it off the bill. Embarrassing since we were treating our guests. Will still come here!
My husband and I are still talking about what a wonderful night we had a Fuze. From the friendly bartender and refreshing drinks to the absolutely delicious meal with another friendly and attentive waitress. The hostess also checked in on us several times to make sure we were satisfied.
We live in Ocean city and maybe one time a year come over for dinner bit we will definitely be coming to avalon more often.
The food was good; interesting pairings and flavors. Smaller portions but nicely presented.
The service was sketchy, our very pleasant waitress mysteriously left before the meal was served and after quite a wait ,others pitched in and served.
But sadly the most memorable thing about the evening was the location of the restaurant; the room is tacked on to the back of a hotel, and it reeked of pool chlorine, the smell was overpowering upon entering. The room itself is a very ambitious attempt to make a sleek new look out of an old smelly space. I'm not sure an interesting menu and a creative chef can overcome the pitfalls of the location.
I had been wanting to try this for awhile. Heard they had music. However, it is only on weekends. The food was not good. Chopped salad had no taste except the bacon. Dressing was fair. Crab cake full of mayo with very salty fried tomato underneath. My husbands pork tasted like it had been cooked awhile ago and reheated. This food was " old school" heavy, not fresh or interesting. The prices were expensive which I would not mind if the food was good.
I hate to give a bad review but honestly we were very disappointed! Sorry I picked this place to bring my friends.
Great service, awesome menu and preparation of food, beautiful and delicious desserts! Probably my favorite place to either eat at the bar with my hubby or have a nice sit down with friends and family. The booths are cozy, the lighting is complimentary and the service is A+
Food was very good; although the portions were small. I had the clam appetizer and approximately 18 clam shells came with only 6 clams. Apparently the others were left in the chef's pot. Entre portions were small which allowed room for desert. Although, sadly the desert menu was limited. The service and music were very good.
Overall the dining experience was expensive, but not unreasonable for a destination restaurant. One visit a summer season is enough.
What a surprise! We had a really great meal at Fuze! The service was excellent. It is an odd room, kind of a an 80's type decor. Everything is black or gray. Really hate the bulb lighting overhead in the upper room but other than that the food was awesome. Beautifully presented and delicious. We had the flounder and tuna. Desserts were just ok but the rest of the meal was excellent.
Will go back. There was a nice crowd. Active bar. Service on top of everything and attentive.
We had weekend guests in from Denver who are wine connoisseurs and brought them to Fuze for dinner. The woman ordered an entree and was told they were out of it. Then she ordered a bottle of wine and they were out of that also. I thought that was very disappointing. We've been to Fuze twice and I don't think we'll come again soon.
First time dining for two couples after a favorable review from my son and his wife who dined with you earlier in the week. The only negative for the evening was the attitude our waiter gave us when we asked that each couple have a separate check. The waiter gave us attitude and said that he had too many tables he was attending to to do so. How difficult can it be? When he did bring the check no apology was given ...... Resulting in our party leaving a 10% tip instead of our usual 20%+. The restaurant was not that crowded to accommodate our request. Will dine again but will request that we do not have the same server.
The food was great-calamari very tasty, unique, not too breaded; steak cooked to perfection, fig and arugula salad was the best, crab cake was very good, and we had 2 nice glasses of red wine. Ambiance was nice for a couple, not noisy; Did not like the window treatments, but rest of the decor was nice; wait staff and waiter did a great job. Would definitely go again!
We visit Fuze fairly often and are never disappointed. The menu is interesting with very creative pairing of items with each entree. Our food was excellent.
The bar is friendly and classy.
Don't let the fact that it associated with a big motel fool you. Locals love it.
We like a nice night out with our family - and do not mind spending a little higher of a price tag but this was nuts. The selection is very limited - we would not recommend going here for a nice night out, there are other places at the shore that are much more reasonable and better selection.
