Fuze Italian - 21st Street Ratings and Reviews
We were there twice this month! Consistently excellent meals and service! Alla Fuze options - mine with veal, husband's with salmon - include shrimp, scallops, and lump crab in lemon butter sauce and are to die for! Great place to bring friends and family to this neighborhood BYOB. Only wish they were open year round in this shore town.
Wow, what a perfect end to a great summer!! Atmosphere, food, service - ALWAYS top notch! The owner, Richard shared his wine passion by sharing a special Pinot Noir with us! What a perfect host👌👌👌👌. My husband and I have been coming here since opening and will continue to be a faithful patron. THX!😊

met the owner and wife at golden inn bar. mentioned it was my 10 year anniversary that day and were eating out. he said i should check out Fuze. Set us up at a great table outside and gave us a bottle of their very own Pinot Noir. All that aside, food was all star. Meatball app was as they described. Delicious. we had Bolognese and Veal as entrees. Both were full of flavor and wonderful. Tiramasu capped off our evening, perfectly prepared and ate every bite.
Definitely highly recommend for italian food.
Two of our party ordered veal dishes which were red inside. Sent them back & they were returned still red. On the third time they got it right. In addition to finally eating 20 minutes after our guests were done, one of the veal items got smaller in size each time it came back. My veal parmigiana, which I often order here was incredibly small.
Food runners assisted us. Our server seemed to avoid us for fear of incurring our anger, which never happened.
Overall, a very disappointing evening.
We have always enjoyed the food at Fuze and have recommended the restaurant to many of our friends. In years past we frequented Fuze much more than this season strictly due to the behavior of the new manager. Never in all of our years of dining have we been treated so rudely. We can't dine somewhere and be treated in such a disrespectful manner. It's a shame because everyone else that works there are professionals. Because of Kate, even though the food is very fresh, we will not return. Hoping next season Fuze will be back on track.
Good food as always. Requested outside table, arrived on time and spotted a table for 2 outside. Informed table for later reservation, although I was there on time. Left an hour later and table still empty ....
Should be more accommodating and stop misleading customers. Could lose business.
We have been dining here all summer and Fuze Italian is hands down the best restaurant in the area. Bread with roasted garlic was sinfully good, esp the olive oil infusion. Zucchini fritti was to die for: crispy, thin, delicate, and seasoned beautifully. Eggplant rollatini had a succulent sweet and tangy cheese filling that was truly amazing. Their meatballs are soooooo tender and delicious. Swordfish - it was perfect topped with crab, shrimp and scallops. Not rubbery at all. Steve Cozzi once again has shown himself to be an innovative and amazing executive chef! Plus everyone is very nice! It's a must dine place.

Average to solid Italian fare. Insanely expensive when you tally it all up. $30-40 chicken and veal entrees with no sides. My veal and eggplant dish had 2 small pieces of veal topped with 2 thin slices of eggplant and cost $32. Not even a small bit of pasta with it. 2 meatballs on the side of $23 ravioli are an additional $14. They were already high but just raised their prices again recently. Online menu did not have the new pricing. Again, average to solid but Nothing special, so not worth the prices. Expensive even by Avalon standards! Plenty of better places in Avalon and Stone Harbor.
PREVIOUS VISITS HAD BEEN OK .THIS ONE WAS NOT . VERY NOISY GROUP AT NEXT TABLE .
2 ORDERS OF SHRIMP SCAMPI WERE VERY BLAND AND NO SEASONING WAS ON THE TABLE OR OFFERED . ALTHOUGH OUR SERVER WAS PLEASANT AND INFORMATIVE , HE AND THE OTHER SERVERS WERE OBVIOUSLY OVER BOOKED
Took my 81 year old mom to dinner and we were asked to leave by the hostess because they needed our table! This has never happened to me before. Shocked. As we packed up to leave the owner of Fuze came over to our table and started berating us. It was horrifying and the diners around us were speechless. I have never been treated so rudely. I do want to say our server Julie was fantastic and our night was wonderful until this happened. Needless to say we will never dine at Fuze again.
Enjoyed our meal but felt $10 for spumoni ice cream a bit high. We did not see a desseert menu and had no idea it would cost $20 for two ice creams. Also $13 for fried zucchini slices very high for this time of year. Chicken parm very good, Caesar salad a good value.
The food is sub par and unless you get to eat outside it's noisy. One of the waitresses we talked with was very sweet but ours acted like she was being bothered to take our order. It was very busy, which probably contributed to that. Still, I wouldn't be in any rush to go back, especially for what we paid.
We were really looking forward to our dining experience at Fuze Italian but we were disappointed on so many levels. We had later reservations and we were initially seated in a fairly empty dining room beside the swinging kitchen door. I had to ask to be moved to a more suitable table . Why? The menu is very basic/not creative, prices too high ,and the quality of the food is average. In addition, our server seemed like he really did not want to be there. Overall, I do not recommend dining at Fuze.
As usual, we had a great dining experience. Our server, Mandy, was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered advise on some of our selections. I had the Halibut special, and it was excellent. Others in the group ordered the clams and pasta, one had the flounder Francais, and someone had the homemade pasta special. Everyone enjoyed their selections, and the service was outstanding.
The best Italian food I've ever eaten. Flavors are amazing and worth the high prices. Servers are so attentive and professional, even cleaned the crumbs off of our table in between courses. I HIGHLY recommend the meatball appetizer. I come back every year just for the meatball. I had the ravioli and boyfriend had the fruitti da mare and both were absolutely incredible. Dessert is amazing too. Restaurant is so quiet and romantic and tastefully decorated. Perfect for a special date night. Favorite restaurant I've ever eaten at for sure.
