One of this site's main attractions would be the annual AVP Volleyball Tournament. Through the vivid glasses, guests may enjoy a relaxed meal while watching the volleyball matches throughout the year.
Food is great but every time we go with a large group, their service is HORRIBLE! Forget people's orders, get orders wrong, food comes out for half when the other half finished their food, and on and on.
We were seated in a noisy section of the restaurant with sound bouncing off all of the walls. The seats on one side of the table had no backs, which made them uncomfortable. The service was barely acceptable and was punctuated at the end of the evening when a drink we ordered came 20 minutes later as we were paying the bill. We wanted to send it back, but the server said he "didn't have time to discuss it." All of that noted, the food was good. But it wasn't good enough for me to go back again. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience.
What a great place to meet old friends and meet a few new ones! The sushi is super fresh. They have a crab roll to die for. Service was excellent. The salmon an eel were tastie. Octopus was yummy. They have a good selection of premium saki to make the night memoriable. Highly recommended.
Wish they had a kids menu. I had to order two sides of chicken Katsu for my 7 year old, normal appetite son, that totaled $17 because they were so small. :/
Food was awesome though.
Love there food great place if you like sushi
Fusion Sushi is a bi-weekly gem in my eyes. Friendly service, easy and new creative dishes.... can't say enough!
Highly recommended for excellent sushi and amazing service.
Excellent sushi - ask for the zen roll! Booths were low as padding was shot so ask for a table. Looking forward to going again and trying something new!
I sat at that sushi bar with my girlfriend. Great timing on all the food, flavor & freshness was top notch.
Definitely get the octopus - it's incredible.
I am a self-professed sushi snob. I have had it all over the world and this place was the best!
Great sushi at a reasonable price. Service was great! my glass was never half empty. It was noisy, good for friends looking for a happy hr atmosphere. Not really a good place for a first time date. Parking is across the street, which helps since its really hard to find a spot in Manhattan.
I love this place, it has sushi for the purest, the traditionalist and everything in-between. The spinach with tuna is off the charts and all the crazy rolls! Im craving this place just writing about it.
Great service. Great sushi. Great menu options. Amazing atmosphere. This is definitely one of my favorite places in Manhattan Beach and my preference for any sushi in the area.
I made a reservation for 10:30pm. When I arrived promptly at 10:30 to be seated, the hostess told me that the kitchen was closed.
While she questioned if I arrived at the correct location, I showed her my email confirmation, which proved such. I asked why I would be able to book a reservation (via Open Table) if it would be an issue. She apologized and reiterated that the kitchen was closed.
My problem is that neither she nor anyone in management seemed to care about making it right with me as a potential future customer. It just came off like the fact that I burned gas (30 min drive) didn't matter much to anyone there.
I don't mind mistakes provided that a business understands how to handle them.
Would I had been a higher priority if I were a celebrity or perhaps a food critic?
Fusion Sushi is my husband's favorite sushi so we come here all the time. It's really great for the family or a group as it's not too loud you can have a nice conversation and the service is always excellent.
I havent been here in awhile and I love sushi. I was excited to see different and unique sushi rolls. We also had darling servers that were attentive and fun.
I will be back with my husband!
This restaurant was so loud! We made a reservation which they honored, but they sat the 4 of us near the hostess stand and we had to yell to the person next to us just to hear. It was like the restaurant was a dance club, but no dancing. We couldn't even talk to each other over eating so we got up and left and went to another restaurant. I told the waitress we were going to leave because the music was really loud and she wasn't phased at all. I don't mind that there was music, and that this is the type of ambiance in the place, but I don't recommend this place if you're trying to have a decent conversation with someone while you're eating.
food was good, table 2 waitress all she did was take our drink order, someone else helped us throughout the dinner. When the bill came she wanted to make sure we gave her a tip, for what for helping us take the drink order the other waiter deserved the tip.
We've been going to Fusion Sushi for approximately 3 years. It really loud in there but the food keeps us coming back. It's a local gem. This late time we got the Ninja Boat and you really need at least 4 people to finish the boat but it was a fun experience.
It can't make up it's mind. Not recommended for people wanting to converse. The food may have been good, but the evening was hard to enjoy with the extremely loud music beating at our booth.
I came here with a friend I had not seen in ten years who was staying in MB overnight (close to the airport) and was on her way to another destination the next day. I chose this place because it had good reviews on Yelp and had an available reservation on a last minute Saturday night. The ambiance was extremely lively and did not seem to need club music disrupting their time. Again, it was confusing as to whether this place was wanting to be a restaurant or whether they wanted to be club. In defense of the wait staff, they seemed to hear our concerns but had little control over the volume of the music. As they said, "the rest of the week is quiet, but Saturday night has this music." They could barely hear our order and gave us some items we did not order. Considering the noise level there, it was hard to blame them for such a mistake, Sadly, I would not eat here again.
Great food. Good music/very loud! Great time.
I like that they offer complimentary salted edamame to start the meal, and that they have a bunch of non-sushi options.
Fusion Sushi was hopping on Friday night! Music was on the louder side, but it fit the mood. There was a buzz in the room over the food and flare. Absolutely loved the flavor explosion of the Marilyn Mon Roll. Great suggestion by our server. Super Crunch and Spicy Crunch rolls were fantastic too. Definitely need to grab more friends and try the Samurai Boat next time I'm in Manhattan Beach.
A great place for Sushi! The Sushi is fresh and selection of rolls are amazing.
Great service and nice ambiance.
The food is great, and the service is good. But the ambiance is way too loud with so much noise from monitors and the speakers that (sorry to say) takes away most of the fun.
Food was good but pricey, especially when the waiter tried to overcharge us by $60. It was probably a mistake, but still a reflection on the level of service which is more appropriate for larger groups than personalized service.
Good food but terrible service. We ordered a bottle of wine. They brought it to us and did not pour it
Wow. The sushi was good. That I have to give Fusion. Although, I met my friend and her bf for a double date, and they literally tried to get you in and out as fast as possible. I think it's pretty obvious between the difference of fast attentive service and being rushed.
That was really unfortunate. We even tried to tell the waitress that we were trying to catch up, but she didn't really care. (And that reflected in her tip)
All in all, great sushi. But don't go if you are trying to have a casual leisurely dinner.
They have a good selection, food came promptely and service was overall good, they could have warned us about last call, the check was closed before we had finished.
I went there for the oyster and uni,but they don't have both! Very disappointed. Besides that some Fusion Special we ordered tasted really good.
I have been to this restaurant before. This time was so loud that conversation was hard. Our waiter was not attentive, never brought the edamame, we asked for it later in the meal. Salads and rolls were brought at once, did not all fit on the table which servers thought was funny and did not help us. We had to make it fit. We thought it would all come on one big slab like a boat...should have been warned. Will not be back as it was just not fun for us..especially at the cost. It get like a race to get us out of there.
If your objective is cocktails and a party atmosphere with a side of mediocre sushi, this is your place. Service was bad; waiters were chatting next to our table without consideration for us or noticing that we hadn't been served but our friends had. The sashimi was borderline fresh. The seared ahi was rubbery, and our waiter informed us that it was made in advance, not to order. The freshwater eel was served cold, which surprised the waiter. We figured our food sat around while the waiter hung out. Never again. Loud music doesn't mask poor quality and bad service!
A lot of choices. Sushi not wrapped tightly, which made it very difficult to eat. Music was overbearing. Loud club style music which was a huge turnoff.
I have personally never heard of this place until on this app. The food was excellent! The prices were decent, the waiters were a bit persistant on us ordering more food and drink than we could consume but other than that its a fun place to eat.
Great food, wonderful choices, beautifully displayed and quite yummy. Music was surprising for a sushi restaurant; more fit for a club or Vegas venue. The restaurant was very crowded and the staff offered us seating at the sushi bar (twice) but we preferred a table and they did accoommdate our reservation. The booth provided some insulation from the music. Don't consider this a site for a quite conversation, or even a conversation among more than two people. Also the table hight was very high compared to seating, making it a bit awkward.
When the table that arrived AFTER you is eating before you've had your order taken, you know you're in trouble. When the orders then have to be corrected a couple of times, things have gone from bad to worse. And since the food was fine -- but nothing special -- there's no reason to return.
My grand daughter and I enjoyed being together in a very delightful enviornment. The food was good, very inexpensive, and I would go back again.
Had reservations elsewhere, had to cancel those because of a late work night. Fusion Sushi had availability for 5 and this was the better choice. First time experience there and the food was great, service was very attentive, music just a tad on the loud side but overall wonderful experience
This place was great and delicious. Oh and did I mention reasonably priced? 3 of us total bill $120, can't even touch that in Chicago. Food was good, and fresh, service good, not overbearing either. I would definitely come back.
Sushi was fresh and well presented, just didn't taste that great. The service was rushed.... with the server bringing the check before we had finished our jmeal or had asked for it. We ordered an appetizer, the short ribs... which were fatty in the bulgogi style and not very tasty. On our bill there were two different tallies for a recommended 18% tip, which was weird. Would've been more enjoyable if we felt we weren't keeping our servers from turning our table.
