Fushimi - Bay Ridge Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful place, amazing service, delicious food!We are meeting our friends and have really good time. The appears was so fresh and delicious, main course dishes it was amazing, deserts are outstanding beautiful!Im highly recommended to my friends come to visit next week.
The aromatic duck salad was fantastic. Nicely dressed with duck and candied pecans and fresh, fresh greens. Excellent. Also always get the veggie spring rolls. Light and crispy. Tried the surf and turf roll (a special) and it was great - shrimp inside and seared filet mignon outside. We shared some sushi as well. The bbq eel sushi is the best I have ever had. Definitely recommend this place. The décor is a a little over the top with Geishas and sumo wrestlers, but we love the food and keep going back.
So let me begin by saying I love Fushimi's menu but I must say the bay ridge location is lacking the service and presentation that you should be experiencing. If you want to experience the full ambiance of this great menu YOU MUST GO TO THE WILLIAMSBURG LOCATION !! There you will be treated with top notch service as well as the presentation of ur meal and also a nicer ambiance. For some strange reason the food just taste better in Williamsburg. I have also tried one of the Staten Island locations but not yet the tottenville one as of yet. And from my observations Williamsburg is the best.
I went yesterday for lunch with my daughter. I had the $15 fixed price 5-course lunch which included unlimited soda and ice cream. The Out Of Control Roll was amazing - a really good combination of flavors. My daughter ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice. They make it simply and well, not overloaded with chopped vegetables; she liked it so much that we ordered another to take home. It's a smaller, more intimate space than their Driggs Ave location. Clean, dim lighting, and exotic. Attentive waiter. Nicely decorated, clean bathroom. Small parking lot on the side.
The waitress serving us was the best we ever had! She was exceptional! The whole experience was superb from the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out! The food was simply amazing! The steak we had was cooked to perfection! Thank you Fushimi for a wonderful birthday celebration!
Sushi was nothing special. There were fish bones in one of the rolls so we sent them back. Our server was indifferent at best. The ambiance was terrible -club type music was blasting in our ear at 6pm in Sunday. Should've gone to Shobu - smaller place but much better in every way.
Always a wonderful experience! We went as a family of 6 including 2 kids, parents, grand parents. We booked same day and they put us in a nice secluded corner. Perfect. The food was great, lovely atmosphere. The half naked sumo wrestler pics are humorous. Valet parking. Excellent service. Couldn't be better!
DO NOT GO THERE!!!!
Used to be my favorite place, but everything has changed. I had the worst experience ever, food was horrible, service was terrible. When we asked to speak with waiters they refused and told us "bye" instead of "thank you" for all the $ we spend there for the crappy food. Never, ever will we come here.
We dined here on Valentine's Day as we have done for the past few years but this year it was terrible, primarily due to the poor service by the waitress who seemed to have too many tables, and didn't seem to care because the gratuity was added into the bill (which they have never done before).
In addition to the special menu we wanted to order additional items but were told "the kitchen is too small to handle any other requests". WTH? We've been coming to Fushimi since it opened and this is the first time EVER that the kitchen was too small to handle additional requests. To make matters worse, there were people around us that were clearly eating items not on the special menu and a table behind us was handed the regular menu to order items from.
A terrible experience on such a special day. We will not go back to Fushimi for another holiday which is really disappointing to me.
Excellent food and service. However, when it came to one item (tuna belly) we weren't advised what the price was when ordering. It said "MP" (market price). I think customers should be told that when ordering. It led to a misunderstanding when it was time to pay the bill.
Someone put a sushi restaurant inside a techno-pop club, hired future "Real Housewives of Brooklyn" stars as wait staff, and Fushimi was born!
Music was so loud our waitress apparently couldn't hear well enough to distinguish "eel" from "octopus" (not that she cared). "See here...I wrote down e-e-l, so that's what you wanted."
The food - OK, but at prices I'd expect in TriBeCa, not Bay Ridge.
Then again, maybe the cash will go toward a new laser light system to keep the lounge crowd excited.
Made a reservation here for mother's day based on last year's experience. This year was a disappointment. The service was efficient but not friendly. I ordered the steak which I asked for to be medium - rate, and it came well-done. I opted not to return it because I was hungry from waiting for our meal to come, which took a long time. Also, we were supposed to receive a complimentary gift - but wasn't ( it was an early dinner - so not reasonable for them to "run out"). And there were no apologies offered. I don't think I'll return here - definitely not for any special occasion.
