Wonderful service from the moment we walked in the door. Our waitperson was knowledgeable and very attentive to our needs. We were celebrating our 43rd. Anniversary so we wanted a special night out. The food was fanominal and the wine was so good, we ordered some the next day. If you love High end Italian, you will love this restaurant. Definitely worth the drive and your time. It's a very small venue so make a reservation a few days ahead!
Funistrada is a wonderful asset to Glen Arbor and Leelanau. Consistently good food, great service, and fairly priced. Have been there many times and always look forward to the next visit.
Always a treat! We are very lucky to have Funistrada so close to Glen Arbor and fortunate they are open year round. The food is great and the service excellent.
Birthday dinner for my aunt...best table in the house and great service. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good. Our table had salmon piccata, veal piccata and baked cod...all delicious. We shared a shrimp scampi appetizer ...very tasty and plenty for three...Shared a piece of chocolate cake
presented to the table while the restaurant guests all joined in singing happy birthday to my aunt...we couldn’t be happier with Funistrada for our special occasion.
Wonderful good and goof service. Love their pasta dishes!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in northern Michigan. It has excellent food at a price that is fair for its high quality and value in a cozy place with great staff. I enjoyed the osco Bucco with a wonderful house salad, bread and side of pasta. The wine list has nice selections at a reasonable price. Save room for dessert.
One of our favorite places when in the area. Love the cozy feel and welcoming staff. The food is consistently good. Recommend the veal chop when available as a special. Other veal dishes are also good choices. Be sure to make a reservation.
We love the ambiance of an elegant yet friendly neighborhood hangout. The food is always well prepared and delicious and the service is friendly and well staffed. We have never been disappointed. While there was a very quiet and well behaved toddler there, it's not a place for young children nor groups larger than six.
Disappointing. I asked specifically for the salmon to be cooked well or all the way through. It wasn’t and they offered another entree with arugula pesto. It had chunks of almost raw chicken in it. My husbands Bistacco special steak was almost raw. Connolli to go was the only redeeming quality.
Love the location, food, wine and the service. Our favorite special restaurant.
Excellent. The menu was versatile with many Italian options. Loved the spicy penne, the house salad and we had excellent service. Only negative was we ordered the shrimp scampi for an appetizer - did not care for it. Shrimp seems rubbery and undercooked. Everything else was a delight.
It always starts with the great staff and tonight disappoint us. The entire staff is a pleasure! Our meals were wonderful and the environment is perfect - cozy and comfortable with great local artwork from Greg Sobran!
Excellent entree and service. However, my husband ordered the cesear salad for a $2 uncharge and it was disappointing for a fine Italian restaurant. My house salad was very good.
One of many visits to Funistrada and have never been disappointed. One of the best restaurants in Leelanau County. We are very fortunate to have such a great restaurant so near and open all year.
Delicious food and outstanding service. Funistrada is just consistently great.
Great little restaurant that the locals love. Has delicious Italian food and the service is wonderful. The friendly staff tries to do everything they can to make your dining experience fun and tasty. We always recommend to visitors.
Always he best, the veal and pasta were amazing and the staff is wonderful
My husband & I, along with another couple went here based on opentable recommendations. We had the mussels and snails for appetizers. Both were tasteless. No spices, no olive oil or butter. I ordered the veal signature dish. It was extremely salty and very skimpy. Very poor. My husband had the monk fish which ok, but had no seasoning. Our friend was unimpressed with the pork roast. Our other friend did enjoy the butternut tortiliny. Very expensive restaurant and poor food. Very disappointing.
As always, great food and service. In the winter, Wednesday is date night with two for one pricing. Great value.
I would like to give them more than five stars on service. I spilled my (nearly) full wine glass just as our entrees were served. In the brief time my wife was in the restroom doing her best to clean off, the staff completely reset our table from the cloth tablecloth up and replaced my wife's entire entree. The hostess, the assist and our waitress, Angie, were unbelievable. Still, while the service is exceptional, the food remains the reason we return every chance we get. My wife is from New York City and this is only restaurant she has found in the midwest that rivals the Italian ristorante in NYC (and the canollis from Alphonso's Bakery in Staten Island). We cannot compliment this restaurant enough.
Took my wife to Funistrada for her birthday. The whole experience was great! Comfortable yet professional service and high quality food paired with nice drink selection. We really enjoyed it!
Great service food very good overall a great experience can’t wait to go back
Always a wonderful experience...delicious food, friendly staff and good wine!
Excellent as always. The off season pasta special on Thursday nights can’t be beat! Food and service are top notch!
Easily the best Italian food in the region, or perhaps anywhere! Price is even okay when on special.
Worth the drive, exceptional service from booking online, to being greeted at the door, explanation of menu, very attentive staff, great menu choices, delicious food!!!! We will definitely be coming back. One of our favorite places to dine!!!
Always a good meal and great service. This time was no different. Worth the drive over snowy roads!
One of our favorite places in the Glen Arbor area. Food and service are always great. Prices are average for the area. Comfortable and cozy. Usually very busy so reservations are necessary most of the year.
We always enjoy great food and service in a cost setting.
This was one of many visits to our favorite restaurant in Leelanau County. The food is great as is the service. We are very fortunate to have Funistrada and grateful they are open year round.
Never disappoints. Friendly staff, great home cooked Italian fare.
Always a family favorite, fun to take out of town guests
Always delicious! Friendly staff makes the evening extra enjoyable
Awesome as always!
Anniversary in a great community ! Food always amazing. Service welcoming and conversational.
Enjoyed the Thursday night pasta special... two entrees with salad and a bottle of wine for $48. We added dessert and coffee for a perfectly lovely and well-priced meal.
Awesome as always! Would go weekly if possible. Food is fantastic and prices are fair.
Great evening, we took advantage of their weekly special. Food and service was fantastic. We will be back soon.
This roadside gem took us back to our time in Tuscany. Delicious wine and food
Once again Funistrada was great! We come whenever we are in the area and they never let us down. The shrimp scampi was delicious , the salads were wonderful. The greens with dried cherries had a fabulous dressing and the last of the seasons heirloom tomatoes were just right. We shared a veal scalopini. It was plenty for each of us. For dessert we shared some thing with graham cracker crust pecans caramel and chocolate! Yum!
The wait staff is very friendly. When your food comes out it’s always nice and hot. And finally I really enjoy the vibe in this restaurant.
