Fujiyama Steak House of Japan
Located conveniently off of Emerson and I465, minutes away from both downtown Indianapolis and residential areas. Fujiyama sets itself apart from other restaurants by combining Indy’s best sushi bar, healthy and unique menu items, express lunch service, and the most entertaining hibachi chefs in the Midwest, all under a warm and inviting environment.
Best chef ever
It was great food and I’ll definitely go back. The only thing I was unhappy about was that I ordered spicy tuna roll to go and I never got it. I paid for it, but they never brought it and I forgot to ask. I shouldn’t have had to ask.
Always popular for family celebrations.
Me and my husband like to come to Fujiyama’s on Sunday for lunch and did not realize Sundays are now all dinner menu prices. We were shocked by how much our meals cost so we will probably not come back to Fujiyama’s and if we do we will split a plate our meal was over $80 I just can’t afford that it would be nice if you brought your lunch menu back on Sunday so we won’t spend my paycheck to eat there .
The hostess was friendly and the servers are excellent. The food was great and they were accommodating to my requests for preparation. The chef was fun and made the experience a lot of fun.
We love Fujiyama! Eat there often!
Food and service were GREAT as usual.
Great experience! I’m taking my children next time.
Always great service and food!
I absolutely LOVE Fujiyama!! This was my birthday dinner and I always choose to go there almost every year along with some lunch dates eith the bestie throughout the year. This time it wasnt the same. My appetizer (tuna takaki) was missing the wasabi sauce that comes with it which I was really looking forward to. (Tuna with wasabi sauce is my absolute favorite in the food world.) The food and chef was amazing, server was pleasant but not great. Maybe it's because I am a server at a semi fine dining restaurant so I notice more, but I expected and usually recieve much better service and knowledge of the menu. I still love this place and will be back for my birthday next year and hopefully before.
We celebrated my grandsons 16th Birthday and it was a lovely evening.
My husband and I weren’t really in the mood to sit at a habachi table so we chose to sit at the bar. At the time, 5pm on a Saturday night, the bar was completely empty of patrons and our experience was exceptional. The bartender quickly took our food order and made our drinks. She was very friendly and accommodating, all while mixing drinks for the entire restaurant. My husband said that his prime rib was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. He especially liked the trio of dipping sauces that came with it. My old favorites, the California roll and spicy salmon roll that I ordered are pretty standard but this place made them to perfection. I prefer smaller, more bite sized pieces so I can experience all the flavors mingled together without having to eat it in halves and that’s exactly how they were made. I live about 4 hours from here but I would highly recommend this place to anyone, with any pallet for any occasion.
Made deliciously at your table. We've eaten here dozens of times and it's always good.
Excellent service and a very fun atmosphere. Food was fresh and delicious!
Amazing!!! We even had a trainee waitress and not a sigle glitch!!!!
Best Japanese in Indy! The chiefs are amazon kept even my autistic 7 year old boy Intrigued!
I have been going since I was a child. 99% of time a wonderful experience.😊
We made reservation and though it is stated on their site that reservations are only made for Hibachi, we did not get one. All tables were taken and several people waiting; therefore, we had to settle for regular table and staff seemed careless about that.
Waitress was very attentive, friendly, and prompted.
Food was good.
Overall the whole experience was good but it would have been better at the Hibachi table.
The food and entertainment is always great. Noise level is high due to them cooking at the table you are at. Reservation worked well and was seated on arrival. Will be going back in the future.
Fairly typical Japanese steak house experience. The rest of the table was seated quickly after we were so there was minimal waiting between being seated and the start of the show. Waitress was very attentive and got drink and orders quickly. Appetizer arrival was varied with both our apps coming out at different times, one before soup and salad and one after. Chef was not as interactive with out group as he was at the next table over, but not sure if that was the group or what. Food was good. Will come here again.
Chef was in a hurry -- we use Fujiyama's as our "celebration" go to place. Food was burned and cooking table was too hot. Chef did little to no entertaining -- with the little tricks that most of them do and that is why we go there....
We will potentially not return for awhile or if we do go back, we will ask for a different chef.
We have come here for many years with our entire family. We celebrate several birthdays. You folks do an outstanding job each and every time. We drive from Brownsburg and everyone of our 14 family members look forward to coming each year. My grandkids love the chefs who do a super job. Our waitress was outstanding, she’s a jewel. 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We loved it! The food was great, the chef was very personable and made my grand daughter laugh (she’s 5) and attempted to flip rice Into my 33 year old daughter’s mouth which made her laugh too! We were celebrating two birthdays and I couldn’t have picked a better place for all ages.
Our cook was amazing, funny and very entertaining. We sat next to great people and the food and service were great!
We had a party of 7 and a baby for Hibachi. The Pros we got reservations for a large group and had a. Very minimal wait. The cook was super nice and lots of fun! The cons the up charge for fried rice...for a Hibachi meal that’s crazy! The meat all seemed like cheap cuts! Chicken wasn’t all white meat steak wasn’t very tender ect. The portions were not generous often at a Hibachi place we have leftovers or feel stuffed, This just wasn’t that experience.
The do have a type of yum yum sauce they just call it white sauce so ask for that...and as a warning their teriyaki is super salty!
My fave place to eat! So yummy.
Always an excellent time at Fujiyama. Roy is the best!
Excellent food, staff and experience! Favorite Japanese in town.
FIRE EMOJI FIRE EMOJI 🔥
BEEN COMING HERE SINCE I WAS A JIT , BDAYS ARE LIT OMM.
Everything was great! The only thing is the portions are much smaller the last several times we have been in. We come in every couple weeks.
Our chef made our evening very enjoyable and entertaining. Thank you!
The food was delicious, the chef was very good and extremely entertaining. Very talented with the spatulas and the Flames! The kids definitely enjoyed it, and so did we. Our Hostess was very kind and we had a great birthday experience for my daughter! She was very impressed with the special pineapple birthday dessert. Plenty of food! Even the junior plates gave us leftovers!
One of my favorite restaurants. Everytime I go im never disappointed
My absolute favorite restaurant in Indy. I’ve tried many hibachi restaurants and this hands down the best.
The service was wonderful! We had the best waiter and chef! Food was delicious!
Fun place to go to, whether celebrating a special occasion, or wanting to go someplace different. All staff we encountered were extremely friendly, chef was entertaining! Good time had by all in our party, and would go again!
My family loves Fujiyamas! Always great food and entertainment. Staff is always awesome. Very clean. Everything you could want in a dining experience.
The waitress I had was terrible I ordered one thing and she brought me something else she seems to have a attitude and tried to tell me it was the same thing and told me to just pick the meat off and just not to eat the rice I was very upset for me to spend $200 I should have gotten great service when I clearly have been eating it for years I know the difference also I had a egg shell in my rice I was upset about that other then that I can’t complain but will not be returning to this location
Cook we had didn't season the food hardly at all. The shrimp was overcooked and bland, the fried rice was bland, only thing I liked was the chicken, which I didn't even get a full breast. I actually left there hungry. For the price, not worth it at all. We won't be back.
