Fujiyama Japanese Steak House & Bar - Olympia Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating a birthday. It was great fun. The food was excellent. The thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was seating time. Our reservation was at 7:00 pm and we didn’t get seated until 7:40. Our large party was crammed in the small waiting area waiting for the previous table to be cheated for us. Also, they won’t seat you until the entire party has arrived.
Went there for my son's birthday, first time. Was disappointed because they squished you in like sardines, the chef appeared uninterested (just going through the motions), and the cleanliness was less than one would expect. Food amount was ok. Just didn't feel like it was worth the cost.
Awesone food and fun atmosphere to be around. The only complaint I have is my other half is disabled and the front desk people would not let us through. We had to go around them through the bar. The one waitress saw us and walk right in front of us and didn’t care that we were trying to get through.
Every time I go there I order the chicken and it seems to be always rubbery and not cooked very well. Loved the rest of the food.
This time the chef wasn't very entertaining, we had brought a newbie with us and talked up the chefs and how enjoyable it was. Well not so much this time.
Also it was my birthday and my husband had told the waiter and he said ok great and that they do something special for birthdays. Well they did nothing and it was during the lunch hour and things were not that busy.
Food was good and the service. But sometimes having an open table isnt the best. We had 4 kids at our table and one screamed the whole time. Our chef seemed to b under the weather so wasnt a very lively table. But, not the restaurants fault. Will come back again for a special occasion.
The server did not bring my water until my husband had to finally ask for it at the end of my meal. She was not diligent about getting refills for the other guests at our table, and she was quite rude to a gentleman next to us when he wasn’t ready to order. The meal we ordered (steak and shrimp for two) was supposed to come with ice cream, but we did not receive it. We felt that the price was very high for the quality of food we received, as well as the hibachi experience. I believe that the server’s name was Yong. I would not return, and would not recommend this restaurant.
The ambiance is missing, nothing warm and cozy about it. Sharing service with other unknown persons is a bit uncomfortable. Should have set ups that allow 2 persons a semblance of dining alone. Too much rice put on plate. Made my other ingredients seem lost.
We really enjoy Fujiyama. We had bee going infrequently to Beni Hana in Seattle before it closed. This is an authentic Japanese Hibachi restaurant with melt in your mouth steak (Filet Mignon is worth the extra price), excellent vegetable medley. I think most of the food is naturally gluten free, and there are no-meat options. Not a great Sushi selection, but other excellent options in Olympia. All food cooked to order, juicy, fresh and delicious. Usually enough for two meals.
