Our first visit will not be our last. A great discovery, close to Carnegie Hall, Fuji Sushi had excellent special sushi rolls, and a good basic menu selection of Japanese dishes. The service was warm and responsive.
Excellent sushi, friendly service
Very bad food. Would not recommend.
Because we had a service animal with us, the owner told the hostess to sit us in the rear of restaurant. He did this in the language he and hostess spoke, thinking we would not understand. WE DID! This goes against ADA laws! Also, food was bad that was served, and I had to throw away a $13.00 item. My daughter got sick after eating her food.
At first, we struggled to find a restaurant with good reviews close to the Lincoln Center. Most were described as over-priced, mediocre food, poor service. Then up popped Fuji Sushi. It is unpretentious, but gets it done - excellent food, servers always available, no anxiety about being late for the show. Just the job.
Typical NYC fast service sushi place. Food was OK. Ambiance was mediocre. Value was good, but not worth a return visit.
The food was great! Service was awesome! And the price was moderate. Overall a great experience!
Eh. Typical NYC sushi. Huge portions. Servers are a little too attentive at the wrong times.
We have been going to this restaurant for years, usually before a performance at Carnegie Hall. Food is always very good and the Staff is friendly and attentive. We recently ate there for my mother's 86th birthday and everyone made a huge fuss over her, which she loved.
For a quick, delicious, and affordable meal before a show at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Fuji Sushi is a good choice. The service is lighting-quick, and the price is right.
Fuji Sushi has good food. We ordered a couple appetizers to share, the rock shrimp tempura and a steamed spinach appetizer.
They had 2 for 1 cocktails however we decided on Sapporo beer, Kirin light and apple juice. For main dishes one friend ordered a couple Sushi rolls and sashshimi.
I ordered the katsu which was a bread ed chicken cutlet with a hoisin or plum tasting sauce sauce on the side. Dessert was the chocolate triangle and an ice cream for the birthday person. We wanted to have good Japanese food to celebrate a friend's birthday at a convenient midtown location and we remembered Fuji Sushi last time that we celebrated. Our one friend orders take out with her group often.
I've ordered from here many times before, and had eaten at the bar. The place is amazing. A step-up from a hole-in-the-wall sushi place, with really good prices. Fish is super-fresh. I haven't had a bad thing off their menu. And the service is so good. Fast and the people there are very sweet.
Light dinner after hot day in Manhattan- found FS near our hotel when looking for an easy, quick meal. Enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, though the pineapple dessert was bland instead of that nice sharp fruit tang. Very pleasant service.
Very authentic Sushi, great quality ingredients and generous servings. Service was kind and expeditious.
Food was great - would definitely go again if I'm in the neighborhood
Great good. Great service
The service is good and very fast so good for anyday. Their eel sashimi piece is amazing (great flavor, perfect cut) and it goes for only $4. They have a nice selection of beers and it's very casual.
We were looking for a sushi restaurant near this location and this popped up on open table. The food was good. The ambiance and decor were okay but nothing special. Not really a very special place but adequate sushi.
We ate at Fuji 3 times while in Manhattan, great location, great food and fantastic service. That says it all. We will go back.
They seemed to be under staffed, but other staff stepped in to help. Overall, it did not affect the dinner too much as we made sure to place our order all at once to avoid further delays. Food came out in a timely manner.
A little more than I wanted to spend, but sushi was delicious and well-presented!
fresh sushi, wonderful service, good price, will be back....
Very good sushi, poor service
A very nice restaurant in a popular midtown neighborhood. Nice ambience and quality sushi. No extra fills but good food and service.
Sushi was pretty good, and the sashimi was pretty good quality. Happy hour drinks were cheap, though mine were not as great as I would have liked. Generally pretty good price for decent sushi.
Just fine sushi place.
Sushi was mediocre, not particularly fresh. Overpriced
Food was ok but you felt like you were on a factory line being rushed along with the waitress standing over you whilst you browsed the menu, bill being brought over with dessert etc
We had a great time. Fish and sushi were very fresh, lots of rolls to choose from, and service was top notch. We will be back!
Your run of the mill sushi spot. A massive list of options, the large maki rolls seem to be the best deals. Had the Sushi and Sashimi combo and the types and quality of the fish seemed very fresh. The tempura was really well fried and the oil smelled fresh and not like they'd used the same oil for months. Solid sushi spot.
The sushi was good, the restaurant could use some cleaning/updating and the service seriously lacked
More of a fast food atmosphere than the description would lead one to expect.
The sushi was extremely fresh. We enjoyed our dining experience.
I love sushi, could eat it every day. Always happy to try out a new place. This place was in the right place, had an opening at the right time. We both enjoyed it. We had rolls of the night special menu. They were tasty, fresh, reasonably priced.
If you are in the mood for good sushi and a wide variety of Japanese food, Fuji Sushi is a great choice. There are quite numerous combinations of sushi rolls and you can also customize them so that your favorite ingredients can be added and your not so favorite subtracted. I loved the shrimp tempura roll. The side salad dressing was tasty and enough to share with another person and it we shared shrimp shumai also. Eating these and our rolls we became full and satisfied. We will have to go back next time and leave room for dessert. The decor of the restaurant was nice as well.
all food and drinks were good. didn't need reservations because we were only customers at 630
Fuji is a long-established sushi restaurant one block from Carnegie Hall, with good food, reasonable prices, and available seating. We've been going there for years, and have not been disappointed.
Rare sushi place in NYC. Good sashimi and Japanese beef.
Ok food. Empty and a little dated. Friendly service. Broadway sushi roll is a must!
