1954 Fuji Sushi is the First Japanese Restaurant in NY City, one of the firsts in the United States.

Designed with attention to details normally reserved for sculptures, Fuji is elegant without being stodgy. The Japanese Cuisine is so good it lives up to the legend inspiring gallant decor.

You don’t have to travel half way around the world to immerse yourselves in far away cultures. You can partake in Fuji's unique pleasures of creative sushi and a mix of traditional and modern Japanese entrees. The restaurant seems to be permanently closed 😞.. we arrived for our reservation & there was a notice of closure taped to the window. Too bad- it was a very good standard sushi place.. and not too overly priced, especially for the area

Sushi was fresh and portions were plentiful. Scallop and steak was delicious with a nice vegetable assortment and noodles and fried rice. Love that it’s BYOB.

Excellent food and friendly, fast service. We had the miso eggplant and seared white tuna to start, which were both wonderful, then had two special rolls after that. Fish was fresh, flavors and textures were great, and the prices were good. Had the chocolate pyramid for dessert, which was a bit different than how the description led me to think it would be, but it was quite nice.

Incredible hidden gem. I booked a table for 8. Others joined last minute and they accommodated the extra guests. The food was delicious. We had a little of everything. The staff was super nice. We loved this place and will go back.

Sehr sehr gutes Sushi zu einem fairen Preis. Klasse Verhältnis von Reis zu Fisch. Kostenloses (Leitungs-)Wasser wird regelmäßig nachgeschenkt.

This place is my favorite for Japanese. Love their sashimi. Love the sashimi bento box - very generous portions. Wonderful rolls as well. Staff is extraordinary and attentive.
