With a vibrantly colored indoor-outdoor dining room overlooking panoramic views of downtown Long Beach and the historic Queen Mary, Fuego is an amazing restaurant in Long Beach CA that specializes in mariscos (fresh seafood). Also featured is a generous array of antojitos (appetizers), as well as tacos, tortas and entrées.
The bar serves premium tequilas-the largest selection in the region-that may be sampled at the bar along with handcrafted margaritas and other signature cocktails. Fuego - Maya Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Amazing! Everything was absolutely perfect: the view and the ambiance are absolutely stunning. Our waiter was polite and helpful and the food (I had a great lobster quesadilla) was delicious. The place were you can dream of being on holidays in a tropical resort. Loved it!
Second visit, first time to meet a client for lunch during the day and it was ideal, with quiet outdoor seating, extremely attentive and friendly service and one of the best views of water and cityscape in Southern California. Located halfway between west LA and Orange County, it was also the ideal midpoint for a meeting. Food's creative and good, sort of Latino/gastropub with a Cuban twist to some dishes, and well-prepared and presented. A difficult combination to find for a waterfront restaurant. Nice place for an after meal walk along the harborfront as well, with the Queen Mary dominating the vista, along with a cruise ship if one's in the harbor. Will be back, for sure. NOTE: With the access from the 710 under major construction for harbor and bridge access, best to come via Queen Mary access road from the Long Beach downtown Convention Center area.
Had a wonderful experience during Sunday Brunch. Wait exceeded the time expected for seating but the restaurant made up for it by giving us a table with ample space for our group. The service was excellent! Ezequiel was very attentive and managed our orders in a timely fashion. He was extremely pleasant and memorable. The food was great and there are a lot of options that accompany the Brunch Entree. Your brunch includes four different drink options (alcoholic beverages) including mimosas; there's an option for bottomless mimosas as well. You will leave feeling great with the beautiful ambiance, view, and delicious food. Appetizers, Entree, and buffet were all beautifully plated and displayed. I recommend the Ceviche, Chilaquiles, Waffles, and Taco + Salad Bar. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
I made a Thanksgiving dinner reservation based on price info, good reviews, and news articles on Thanksgiving dinner from the internet. The dinner was supposed to be $38, but it turned out to be $60. When I learned this shortly before dinner, I called the manager, Derrick, who assured me he would fix the situation in my favor. When I got to the restaurant, the asst. manager told me different and the price was not adjusted. Then, the table was rickety, the live jazz music soloist was too loud and awful, the next awful surprise was an extra $3 charge for coffee. On the favorable side, the cuisine was good and the ambience wonderful. Overall, we felt like it was a bait and switch ordeal.
It's close to a crime. Fuego had perhaps the most beautiful waterfront patio of any restaurant in Long Beach. I keep returning here when I need the calming presence of the water and the warmth of a sunny afternoon. The wait staff are always pleasant and professional. The crime is the food. When I bring people here it's always with an apology/explanation about how beautiful it is, and to expect edible but pathetically mediocre food. I don't really mind the fairly high prices considering the ambiance. Everything is bland. The braised meats are dry. The produce is at the end of its freshness. The plating is functional. I recently took my nephew who ordered the Chicken Tinga sandwich, shared some guacamole, had one of my tacos, and shared a salad. We needed to have some serious conversation so the location was perfect. His comment about the food after however was "the fries were okay....". I had heard they brought on a new chef not too long ago and after a long absence was excited to see if things had improved. Same exact menu and same exact problems. This could be one of the most magical places in Long Beach. No idea why the management is embracing culinary mediocrity. I think next time I'm going to order a drink, fries, and sneak in some first-rate five dollar take-out from one of our many amazing taco joints around town.
We were staying at the hotel and didn’t really want to go anywhere. We made a reservation at the restaurant and are so glad that we did. The view was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the service was great. They surprised my girlfriend with a lovely dessert for her birthday.
Food was GREAT! Waiter was a little slow and furniture could be a little nicer/sturdier. Tables seemed flimsy and chairs were not comfortable. We spent $250 on dinner for 4 so expect a little higher quality in everything. Overall pretty great. Restaurant and ambiance was beautiful and romantic.
I loved the outdoor seating and the scenic view of Downtown Long Beach. The service was great, I highly recommend the Short Rib Dish and the desert that I received for my birthday was exceptional. I would definitely come back to celebrate for any upcoming occasion.
Excellent all around!!
Excellent service by Skyler.
However, even though I indicated we were celebrating our wedding anniversary on the reservation and acknowledged by our server and receptionist, the traditional or standard of a comp'd desert or such was not offered.
We came out to celebrate our anniversary at the Sunday Brunch. The menu selection was amazing. So many options with authentic Venezuelan flair. The chimichuri shrimp and salmon filet we're outstanding. The options for all you can eat salad and taco bar were awesome. The dessert bar was excellent though a couple of items were not great. I gave 4 stars for food because I would have wanted more breakfast choices for brunch. They had live music and dancing lessons/ entertainment but it was a little loud. You cannot beat the views at Fuego. Fantastic in the morning and even better at sunset.
This was our best experience ever at Fuego's! Our dinner companions commented that perhaps there had been a change of chefs. It was always good, but tonight's meals were excellent. Our service was efficient and most importantly, friendly. We are also grateful for the serene waterfront ambience and the beautiful harvest moon that evening.
Fuego is in a fabulous location, right on the water in Long Beach with Queen Mary in view.
The service is excellent, and the food is good. The bar service was a little off, as my husband's Manhattan was an odd drink; interestingly, the waiter knew there was a problem and replaced it with a proper one. He said something about a new bar tender.
We both ordered steaks, but next time I'll try seafood.
We also ate breakfast at Fuego, and it was excellent.
We made reservations and were seated the moment that we arrived.
The wait staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was all brought at the same time and at the proper temperature.
We dined on the patio with a beautiful view of the Long Beach harbor.
Parking was validated.
It was a special occasion for my in-laws wedding celebration. We arrived to fuego en la maya and they had us standing in the stairs for about 4 minutes while they made sure there was a table near the ocean. Our request was a table next to the ocean. When we arrived we were giving a table 3 rows away from the ocean. The people next to our table where using inappropriate language and being very loud. We were on a table that was surrounded by 3 heaters which where really close to our backs. We asked for them to turn one off since it was really closed and they were suppose to move it away from us. We were hardly approached by a waiter. We waited about 20 minutes before they came to take our order. My brother in laws drink had a fly/Spider. My husband and I have been going here since 2011 and have never had an issue however Saturday was a disaster. I wanted to show my in-laws what a beautiful place and we had nothing but bad experience. We still left a tip and enjoyed our appetizers, drinks, entree, and dessert but i wish things would have happened differently.
Took my sister-in-law and her husband her since they were visiting us from the desert. They loved everything about the setting: Restaurant, food, drinks, ambiance, and view. So nice to be on the patio in the evening when the lights come on downtown. Fuego is one of our favorite restaurants and the service is superior.
