Fuego - Maya Hotel
With a vibrantly colored indoor-outdoor dining room overlooking panoramic views of downtown Long Beach and the historic Queen Mary, Fuego is an amazing restaurant in Long Beach CA that specializes in mariscos (fresh seafood). Also featured is a generous array of antojitos (appetizers), as well as tacos, tortas and entrées.
The bar serves premium tequilas-the largest selection in the region-that may be sampled at the bar along with handcrafted margaritas and other signature cocktails. Fuego also hosts Maya Fiesta Domingo-a festive outdoor brunch featuring Baja-style seafood and savory barbecue accompanied by live Latin Jazz.
Always such a perfect time and a great place to join friends. The view is peaceful and food is amazing. I’ve never had a bad experience and this was my 6th time there. I will be back.
We got there early and we got seated earlier than our reservation time. Staff was welcoming and great from the very beginning. Great service and good food. The ambience was very nice. There was a live guitarist and was excellent.
Loved this restaurant ! Great service, really good food and drinks, plus the music combined with the view was spectacular! Simply amazing!
The space is great. The service is excellent. The view is fantastic. Most importantly, the food was amazing!
Valentine’s Day dinner
Valentines celebration. Service was great. I understand it was Valentine’s Day. But the pricing was too high for the food served
I feel it was over priced. By a lot. I’m not one to complain for Valentine’s Day but it just was a little much for the amount of food served I normally come to this restaurant for the brunch brunch is fantastic but their dinner was not that well
Incredible food & beautiful views. A great server, too!
Everything worked out as expected- place was beautiful.. scenery awesome! From the moment we walked in, got seated, served and finished eating- al the staff were all welcoming and accommodating! Food was great! I got the seared ahi tuna and it is soo good. The sea bass ceviche worked out so well too. We will be back again to dine here-
Fuego is an enjoyable spot. Great view of the water (day or night). Friendly staff and service. Got a bit chilly outside as our heat lamp propane tank went empty about 2/3 of the way through our visit. I will come here again. Apparently there was a lack of communication between FUEGO and OPEN TABLE regarding my 6p reservation on Jan. 25. We showed up right on time. I said I had a reservation through Open Table. They sat us right away and had a nice time. But the next morning I got a hand slapping email from Open Table stating that I did not show up for my reservation and to please not do that kind of thing again as no shows can negatively impact the flow of a restaurant. But I did show up. A little frustrating but I cannot control the communication between restaurant and app so that could very well happen to me again. I will be ready for it next time.
Great food and service!
Been here in the past and was happy but the food this time was poor. Buffet and tacos tasty as usual but our entrees were not. I’ve had one of the entrees in the past and was very happy thus why I ordered it again but it was muddled and just a bowl of mush. My wife’s steak was unseasoned and just blah. I would go back for brunch as we’ve been happy in the past but after dropping almost $200 for the two of us it will be a while before we return.
The food was great. I think it’s definitely worth the cost. The crowd wasn’t heavy. Everything about the service was great!
I checked in but they contacted you that I had not. Had to call them and hopefully they relayed that we were there. Wonderful setting but overpriced. Wonderful service. Great food
It was a nice quiet restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean, the lighthouse. It was just an amazing experience!
The food was amazing. The view was so pretty. The service and vibe were great with the live music for Sunday Brunch.
What a stunning location. We sat on the patio, and the view of the Waterfront was quite lovely, but as we watched the full moon rise over the Waterfront, it went to STUNNING. For that alone, I'd give it 5 stars. I have to admit, I was reluctant to go to a "hotel restaurant", but I'd go back in a heartbeat. The menu wasn't too extensive, but everything was well prepared and tasty. The cocktail menu was great. The service was top-notch, and they had plenty of heaters to keep the diners warm in this frigid California winter.
It *is* a bit of a schlep to get there, due to all the construction on the 710, but it was totally worth it.
First time back since last year. Service is still excellent. Food and drinks plus some of the best music =Top Notch Brunch Spot
The food at Fuego is always delicious! Table favorites were the beet salad, Chilean Sea Bass, and vegetarian quinoa sofrito. The view is amazing and the ambiance is refreshing. Just missing the live music on Christmas Day. We will definitely be back as this is one of our favorite spots for celebrating!
Great views - but food wasn't very hot when it arrived and it was hard to get our waiters attention when we wanted to order more drinks. It appeared to be under stafed.
Excellent as always. We finally made it to the Mariachi. And they did not disappoint
Servers and staff always making your meal perfection here
Lovely! We enjoyed a modern, smart, tasty Mexican inspired lunch, all topped off with a beautiful waterfront view. The service was great, ambiance was lovely. Recommended!
The waiter was absolutely rude and obnoxious to a point where I had to verbally put him in his place.
Great service and delicious food! Love the ambiance and music during brunch
Always a treat to eat at Fuego! Fabulous view and amazing food. Had the Ahi Tuna Salad this time. It’s a winner!
Fantastic view, ambiance and food!
The service was horrible. The waiter, Javier, brought us the bill within 30 mins of sitting down. I'm not aware of anyone who finishes brunch in 30 mins. Each time we asked for champagne, he would emphasize that it was by the glass. He brought the check after each glass. He basically told me that I couldn't afford a bottle of champagne. He did not check on us. We had to flag him down or ask the busboy to get him. It was a horrible experience. It seems to get worst with each visit. We will not rerurn.
We were there for the Maya-chi brunch. It was a beautiful day and a great time. The service was great. There was no rush to leave. So we were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the meal and scenery.
Food was delicious. Server was extremely nice. Wine was great for the price.
the $12 cremebrule was a disaster. I would have given them 5star despite being excessively expensive, had they given me a decent desert.
The brunch on Sunday is phenomenal! And with a choice of entrees in addition to the buffet and staffed taco bar-inclusive of the first mimosa, it’s a great value! A band and singer playing soft Latin sounds set the mood and the relaxing hues of the bay sealed the package. A lovely day!!
Prior to 9/29/19, had not been to Fuego in nearly 10 years. We did not have a bad experience last time, it just was not memorable- save for the view.
On 9/29, my wife, mother, godmother and I went for Sunday brunch. We were seated immediately and had a great view of the bay. Due to the size of Fuego, the offering is not tremendous, but it was all delicious.
Aside from the dining they had a band, T Latin Jazz Experience. The bandleader was lively and did a great job engaging the diners. It felt like we were having Sunday brunch in your backyard, with a great band and even better locale.
The service was great. Our server was Carmen. Carmen did a wonderful job; she was pleasant, and accommodated all of our needs/requests. When we asked to speak to the manager, Carmen became nervous, but we reassured her it was positive.
Our go to brunch spot has been Catalina Kitchen, at Terrenea, for the last few years. Catalina Kitchen has more offerings, but the food at Fuego was just as good. The views are a push- ocean (Catalina) and bay (Fuego). The music... in all the times I have been to Catalina Kitchen, only once do I remember live music. Meanwhile, T Latin Jazz Experience is at Fuego 3x per month; the other Sunday, there is a mariachi band. Lastly, the price at Fuego was better.
My husband and I were celebrating our 12 year wedding anniversary and brought our kids along with us. Everybody who worked there were super friendly and the service was great. They even brought us each a glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. While the meals were pricey the food was excellent. The guacamole was just OK but the Seabass and shrimp adobo entrées were excellent! The kids meals were what you expect from a kids menu and the cookie dessert with ice cream on top was delicious. Overall we had a super fun time and you can’t beat the view! I would definitely recommend this place.
The view was spectacular, just one thing the food did not stay hot, but tasted great great seasonings.
Beautiful hotel with great views of the ocean. Fugeo's restaurant has great food and drinks also with great views.
Everything was perfect, food was delicious, service was great, will definitely be returning soon !
Worst service ever. We were sat and then watched 3 other tables get sat, served drinks, and just got service staff avoiding eye contact so they didn’t have to deal with us. We finally complained to the Dir of Ops who didn’t offer an apology, just the promise they would take care of us from that point, which they did not. Random ppl came by the table, couldn’t tell who would be our server, they cleared our table when we got up to get dessert. We had to ask for beverages, napkins and utensils back and once we were actually done, not a person in sight. Had to get up to the host stand and wait for 15 more minutes until they could find the person who had our check.
Terrible, especially for the price.
Was an outstanding view, food was very good. Next time we come to Los Angeles, we will visit again for sure.
Amazing food, service and view! Best brunch in town
The staff was super nice and helpful. It’s a beautiful setting over the water. Its just a little on the expensive side. The dessert was super disappointing though, I got the cheesecake and it wasn’t very good.
Incredible location : overlooking the marina and Long Beach, next to the Queen Mary. Very creative cuisine Mexican California style. We enjoyed the Ropa Vieja, Pollo a la plancha and short ribs : everything was excellent.
