FT33 Ratings and Reviews
Carefully crafted small plates with locally sourced vegetables, grains and proteins. This is really food exploration and most dishes hit the mark with "road less traveled" flavor and spice combinations. Service was outstanding and attentive, although this is not a fast paced meal. Each course takes time to prepare (you can watch them doing it), so bring some chill friends and conversation. Menu changes seasonally.
We came to FT33 for our anniversary and were welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne. Everyone we talked to made sure to wish us well, we really appreciated that personal touch. Then came the food, and we were blown away! Every bite felt like an adventure. For the Dallas area this level of creativity in cooking is rare. At the end of the meal they brought our desserts with ‘Happy Anniversary’ written in chocolate on our plates. One last personal touch that left us feeling smart for choosing this restaurant to celebrate our special day. Unforgettable.
The chef and pastry chef are award-winning and exceptionally talented. The food was exceptional, and the service made sure to tell us about the personal experiences, awards, and status of the chef and restaurant. However, the quantity of food was shocking - $30 for 8 small slices of refined deli meat...and very small main course to boot, each for the price of $40. Be prepared to pay a large sum for a small amount of food, although exceptionally prepared. Was shocked by how different the experience and prices were from the information I gathered on Open Table, which had three dollar signs, and a price range of $31-$50 per person. As well, the decorations were incredibly minimal, and the chairs were very uncomfortable. Overall, would not return.
I hate to write that after waiting years to dine at FT33, I was disappointed. It isn't that the food was bad, it was ok. We did the tasting menu, but no wine pairing, as our waiter noted it was a better deal to buy wine by the bottle. I was a little confused why you would have a wine pairing that is not supported and encouraged by wait staff. Each dish was a bit salty and did not have any "wow" impact. It was fine, the service was good, but at the end of the day I expect a lot more for the amount of money spent. There are too many great restaurants in Dallas to dine here again.
It’s been a little while since we went to FT33 and after last night we’re in no rush to go back. The service was poor. After taking our initial order, we didn’t see our waiter again until we were almost done with our entrees. It wasn’t until then that he asked if we wanted to order any wine - our cocktails to start having long since run dry. The menu at FT33 is always very limited and this time relatively uninspired. He encouraged us to order the steak, saying it was his favorite thing on the menu, and I have to say it was beyond disappointing. It was dry, overcooked, and honestly had no business being on that menu. The flavor and creativity level was surprisingly low. The dessert was good, but on its own certainly not worth going back for. FT33 has seen better days.
The most creative menu in Dallas/Ft Worth! The raw beef with pepper kimchi was a perfect blend of flavors. The gulf fish crudo combined elements like apples, hot peppers and lemon basil kosho in the most imaginative dish! I was reluctant to try the park presse, but this savory entree was amazing. My husband was not as impressed with his heirloom radish starter or his Babette steak. He did find the shaved pork loin course amazing! Desserts were also unique combinations of the freshest ingredients that brought the meal to a perfect end. Wine pairings were quite good and perfect pairings. This is not a restaurant for eaters who are not adventurous. We truly enjoyed the excellent dishes and service.
Over cooked my boss’s fish, then undercooked it. They took $0.40 off the bill, we pointed it out then they changed it to $40. At the end of the night after my boss hadn’t had an acceptable entree at the restaurant I picked for 8 colleagues from all over the world they still had the nerve to add a 20% tip!
I’m not going back!
We LOVE this place!! The Chef is a true genius. I haven’t eaten in a Resturant in Dallas lately that stand out like FT33. The layers of seasoning and spices in each plate is a wonderful culinary joy. Our waiter Chad was great and enthusiastic. Can’t wait to go again.
The food was AMAZING and our service was excellent. There was a weird strong smell in the restaurant. Chemicals? Not sure but that would be my only negative. Tastefully decorated and great atmosphere! The sausage pasta dish was so good I wanted to lick my plate.
The restaurant, its staff, and its cuisine continue to wow time and time again. The prixe fixe is a tremendous value, and I'd recommend it to anyone dining there, whether it's their first time or fiftieth time. I'm already looking forward to our next trip back.
