Front Porch Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant, on Ocean Drive, was a great place to eat. We ate dinner there on a Monday night and had delicious burgers. The next morning, we returned for breakfast. All of the food we ate was delicious and cooked the way we asked. It has a great covered porch that allows the diner to enjoy people-watching along Ocean Drive. There is also indoor dining available. The service we received during both visits was exceptional; friendly, accurate, efficient, and not over zealous. While the prices are a little high, they are more reasonably priced than other Ocean Drive establishments. Most everything is pricey in that area, so we expected to pay more. I would definitely eat there again, and recommend it to South Beach visitors.
Front Porch is a popular venue morning, noon and evening .. And with good cause. Good venue, with attentive staff and excellent food. We have sampled several breakfast / brunch options and all excellent; and happy hour appetisers are pretty much a meal in their own right .. Fish & shrimp taco options are great. We always enjoy stopping there.
The restaurant is known for Breakfast all Day and, sure, it was available but what a disappointment. Before we even got started (and this was at about 7PM) it was about what they did not have. Not too many items, but still.... I ordered the Crab Cake Benies and the crab cakes were overcooked and had very little crab meat. My son ordered a scramble with ham and peppers and it was okay but presented in a very uninspired way. The weather turned nasty as we were arriving and throughout much of our meal, and that may have contributed to the overall negative impression, but we also noted that the restaurant - and bar - were virtually empty so that may be saying something too... Not sure I would give it another try as there are way too many other choices in SOBE.
Went here for a dinner on a bachelorette party trip. 5 people with vastly different food tastes and dietary restrictions. There was something for everyone. Food and drinks were delicious. Ambience was very nice (we sat outside ). The wait staff was wonderful too! We are all very pleased that we picked this restaurant.
Food was good and reasonably priced for the location. Nice spot for people watching. Server was attentive. Only complaint is I like my salad before my entree and I got both together. So do you eat your salad and let your meal get cold or ignore the salad and eat your entree or eat them together? I had a few bites of salad but mostly left it. Didn't get dessert.
Awesome central location in Miami Beach. Great atmosphere. Quiet enough on most nights so it was easy to converse with friends. Love the huge chess board! Comfort food was pretty darn good. Definitely recommend. Only con: Some waiters had a miserable attitude and seldom returned to the table to check if we needed anything else.
Not our favorite, service was weird. We hit a slow time during the evening (only a few tables were occupied) but not the end of the night. Took awhile for a server to arrive and didn't get a great feeling from them when they did arrive. Not sure what the issue was, but felt they were bothered they had to serve us. Once we ordered, food was ok, we were never asked if we would like another cocktail or glass of wine and never asked about dessert.
Food was good but the restaurant looked a bit dilapidated and out-dated...service was okay but not somewhere to go for a special occasion. One plus--parking is usually available right in front of the restaurant as it's at the north end of South beach ..away from the real crowds..
My daughter and I dined here for dinner. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation, but I called to inform them. We were seated immediately upon arrival. There was a very loud group at the bar so we opted to sit outside on the patio. It seemed that the hostess wanted to keep everyone in one section of the patio, as a couple that arrived after us were crammed into a small table right next to us despite there being ample seating elsewhere on the patio. We had mixed drinks which were very good--no skimping on the alcohol. We ordered buffalo wings for an appetizer and my main course was shrimp scampi and my daughter ordered the chicken parmesan. After a about 20 minutes had passed, my daughter said "our appetizer is coming out with our meal." I told her that was ludicrous. And sure enough, that's what happened. When the waitress came out with our main courses my daughter reminded her that we didn't even get our appetizer. The waitress blondly replied "yes, it's coming," We told her to send our plates back to the kitchen, as we wanted the appetizer before the meal, as that's the point of ordering an appetizer. She took our plates and went in one door and someone from the kitchen came out of another door with our appetizer. Really? Was this a magic show? Despite this the food was excellent. The wings were crispy and flavorful. My shrimp scampi was just delicious and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her chicken parmesan. The pasta in both dishes was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is situated a few blocks down from the hustle and noise of the main strip on Ocean Drive, so it offered somewhat of a more relaxing dining atmosphere. Of course the patio is good for people watching and enjoying the Miami Beach scene. I'd definitely dine here again. I just hope I receive better service the next time around.
The food was just okay for what was charged. My girlfriend had the pork chop, which was cooked perfectly, however it had no flavor. I had the fish and chips, the portion was tiny and when I asked for cocktail sauce I was told they probably didn't have any. Not sure, but the fish came out with a red type sauce, which was tasty but certainly did not taste like cocktail sauce. Once we told the server we had a groupon, he never came back to find out if we needed anything else. We had to wave the server down in order to even get our check. I would not recommend this place, way over priced for what you get. It is South Beach and in a tourist area, so that would explain the prices.
