Frogs Leap Public House Ratings and Reviews
I never go up to NC without going to the Frogsleap. I have nrver been dissapointed with a meal and always know when I bring friends there they will leave satisfied. The Devils on Hourseback App is amazing, there steaks flaverful, and the dishes always have an amazing flair
My favorite local restaurant, take visitors frequently. Friends and family from Atlanta raved about the food and the spices used in preparing the menu items. Everybody loved their selection, lamp chops, pork chop, duck, lamp meat balls and scallops. Been numerous times and have never been anything but completely satisfied with the meals.
The OT site lists attributes which would cause me to recommend this restaurant. But they left out great food, farm to table, wine list, did I say great food? Are you kidding me OT? This is a wonderful restaurant with frequent menu changes prepared by an outstanding chef.
We arrived a little early. Seated immediately.
Frogs' Leap has a creative menu. The hush puppies were superb but there were so many of them that we two could have shared them and been happy. Wife had sun trout. Professed it to be great. Husband had Lamb and ricotta cheese meatballs. Mmmmh.
We are in our seventies and the portions are a little too large for us but all is delicious.
Frogs Leap overall is a good restaurant with a varied menu using fresh, local food.
The only complaint my friends and I had the night we dined here was the portion size of some of the entrees and side dishes we ordered . We ordered a Caesar salad the we planned to split between two of us. It was served in a very large bowl with three miniscule romaine lettuce leaves and croutons.
My friends and I are not large eaters but we thought i It was a child’s size portion if that!
Therefore, I don’t give Frog’s Leap more than a three star rating because it’s value is not commensurate with their menu prices which range on the higher side.
Our favorite restaurant in Waynesville.
One suggestion for them is the exhaust system. This is an ongoing problem that sometimes makes for a slightly smokey atmosphere. Doesn't create breathing problems but clothing almost always needs laundering/dry cleaning afterwards.
Top notch food and service... Just this one item that needs fixing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We both had steaks which were under cooked to our liking but they made it perfect swiftly. Loved the atmosphere and our server was knowledgeable and courteous. When in the area, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Fit for foodies, but the ambience is very welcoming.
I came for brunch the bacon, fried chicken, poach egg with sawmill gravy cajun hollandaise was very good. I loved the smoky smell in the restaurant, I wish I did not order a $12 mimosa for it was in a super tiny champagne glass and was not even 3/4 full. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend, and I will be more than happy to come back. Also, the service was good I wish my server had better knowledge of menu.
My husband brought me here for my birthday, we’re here from out of town visiting. All of the menu offerings were very unique! Each and every item we chose, from soups to salads, to small plates, entrees and desserts were unbelievably delicious! Trying so many new items we expected at least one to be just “ok”, but all were fantastic!!
