Not the experience I was looking for on my wife's birthday. They were understaffed so service was poor. My trout was good, but my wife's scallops were almost raw. My wife was supposed to get a complimentary desert for her birthday, but that never happened. Very disappointed.
The food was superb and artistically presented. Service was excellent.
Always good, always special.
Our first visit to Frogs Leap Public House, and everything was delicious! I ordered the fish special (crispy skin Black Bass with a beautiful mix of roasted mushrooms, onions, peppers, asparagus, potatoes on a parsnip puree). We have been traveling full time since September, most recently along the southern and SE coast, and have not had a fish entree prepared so beautifully! We also ordered the duck pate appetizer and the Boa bun with short ribs. Hand-crafted cocktails that were equally as impressive.
Host was wonderfully engaging. Staff adhered to all Covid protocol, which we appreciated. Very cozy atmosphere.
Favorite restaurant in Waynesville and Asheville. NEVER disappoints. The wine pairings are amazing and have never had a bad server there.
Nice to be able to go out again without fear! Enjoyed our meals. The service was very good. Had a couple of nice bottles of wine, appetizers and entrees. Tried the pigs ears - interesting. Hubby loved the hush puppies. Fish selections were tasty. Presentation is always nice. Menu is very interesting and extensive. Enjoy your visit!
We felt like we were on a gourmet Food Channel episode. Wonderful food and service.
Frogs Leap seems to get better and better. We have dined their 2-3 times per year while in Waynesville since 2018. They never disappoint.
One of my favorite places! Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. Kim C was a superior server.
Amazing service, delicious food, worth the 40 minute drive without question.
Great food and service . Very nice elegant restaurant we will be back soon .
Creative menu, knowledgeable service, delicious preparation. Well worth the visit.
It was our 34th anniversary and was so looking forward to eating here. They were so busy our reservation was 7:30. I totally understand that COVID has been cruel to the restaurant industry as it is hard to get help. Our server was new and we realized she was having a hard time and they sent another person to help that was knowledgeable. We really thank them for that. The food was beyond amazing! Not enough room to say what should be said. We both had the pork chops and were the best we have ever had. It was closing time and our waitress disappeared. Lol we were ready to leave and it seemed to take forever to get the check. We would definitely go back but earlier. Again the atmosphere and food were 5 star and the service we would at least give a four star under the circumstances they had to work.
Awesome everything as always! - I try to stop by at least once whenever I go up up to my house in nearby.
Our first time and certainly not our last. We were surprised at the array of interesting small plates and meals to share. I have dined in restaurants up and down the eastern seaboard, this little spot stands out. Be adventurous and try something daring. You will be glad
Great overall food and atmosphere. Grateful to have a place to gather with friends in our small town to celebrate.
This is the best food in Waynesville! Add the friendly service and ambience and FLPH is a winner in my book!
Jake did a wonderful job making spectacular recommendations from the menu to make our 15th anniversary very memorable!
We were in the Waynesville area for just a few days so felt lucky to get a reservation on the Frog Leap's first day of reopening after a several month's closure. Indeed it turned out that we were, along with another couple, the very first in the door when they opened a bit later than our reservation time. Perhaps we should have been concerned when told that the menus were only just being printed. The chef was clearly trying new things. And though imaginative, the very strongly flavored items we selected seemed to clash with each other. Midway through the meal I was feeling slightly unwell but the Crème Brule brought on a strong sinus reaction. (I have no known food allergies.) I drove back to our cottage feeling very unwell. This was disappointing as we'd been looking forward to a special meal. We'd visited a few years ago and really enjoyed it then. The staff was pleasant and we felt well treated. Perhaps a little less culinary experimentation?
Excellent food. Beautifully served. Delicious drinks!
amazing locally sourced food. It is pricy but worth especially for a anniversary or date night.
Excellent food and service. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and steered us in the right direction.
Fun with friends
You’ll need a reservation, Tonya was lovely and knowledgeable. Complex dishes with rich flavor, great birthday dinner.
We love to eat at the restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. They’re always specials so you have extra choices. They focus on farm to table but really have a way with flavor.
Fabulous meal. Three of us dined . I had the mushroom ravioli which was the most flavorful meal I’ve had in a long time . My husband had the trout and our friend had I believe a grouper. Everything was just amazing and our waiter went out of his way the get us an appetizer Hen of the woods which is one of our favorites..
We recently celebrated my husband’s birthday with friends. My husband liked very much the duck main dish. All others ordered the trout main dish and we were disappointed. The Caesar salad was very good. Service was very attentive and friendly but the overall dining experience was average. I was happy to see that they were practicing social distancing and all staff wearing masks.
Excellent as usual.
Love this restaurant. We go every time we are in Waynesville. Food never disappoints. Service is very good, we usually get Tonya, she is awesome. We will be back!!
Yet another delicious meal at FLPH! Thank you! The coconut curry soup is out of this world, and the bison burgers are just amazing. The coconut shrimp is the best we've ever had, and of course, the famous Caesar.
Nice restaurant, delicious creative food and excellent service ! We go every chance we get !
It was my Birthday Weekend which we spent at The Biltmore in Asheville and so we saw the reviews for The Glass Onion on Open Table and decided to give it a try. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. We will definitely go back !
Really creative delicious food. Great service. Love the upscale comfortable casual ambiance. Great restaurant !
Food is good although a bit salty for my taste. Our server brought our salads and starters all at the same time which we mildly complained about. We will go back again.
Another great meal at Frogs Leap. Our waitress was great. food was wonderful. If you have never been to this restaurant, I urge you to look them up online and review their menu before you go. It is not a huge menu but they include much detail for each meal item. Getting a headstart helps in your decision making. They have a nice wine, beer and mixed drink menu. Enjoy if you try them. I do.
An excellent restaurant that has been consistently good for the past few years. We try to go there every time we are in town.
Great food and service! Kim is an excellent server and Tony does a great job running a tight ship!
Frogs Leap is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere!😀
Excellent farm to table with unique preparation!
Absolutely the best meal I have had in years! Scrumptious, fresh and creative. Can not wait to return!!!!
It is my go to restaurant in Waynesville when I am in town. Their food and service never disappoints. I recommend going for a very nice dinner out.
