We recommend starting with a glass of wine, a bowl of French Onion Soup or escargot appetizer, and then move on to our seasonal seafood mains, fresh pastas or our classic steak and frits. Froggy’s diverse menu is geared to satisfy seafood aficionados, vegetarians and all omnivores alike. Always fresh, always French and always a fantastic dining experience.
Located in Highwood, IL nestled in between Highland Park and Lake Forest, come dine with us to see why Froggy’s is known as North Shore’s hidden gem.
Froggy's has always been a favorite, and does not disappoint.
Awesome food. Great quality service.
We enjoyed their Prix
Our server was marvelous. Micha recommendations were great and his friendly manner was just delightful. We would definately go back and ask for him.
Everything was perfect. Nicest ambiance and the staff was amazing. Our anniversary there is always superb.
Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming . The food was French, but not heavily dependent on traditional fare. Quirky and cozy ambiance.
Froggy’s has never let us down.
Our waiter, John recommended an excellent wine choice. We both had specials and found the food excellent. John had been very responsive when I made the reservation, as I had asked for a special dessert for my wife's birthday. While that dessert wasn't available, I really appreciated his call to respond to my special request.
The staff is very warm and welcoming. The menu has delicious French-inspired meat and fish choices. Chef Thiery is an incredible Chef-restaurant owner!
Always wonderful, light, delicious food. Service including Maitre d' very attentive. Ambiance is perfect. Almost always order the specials.
Had lunch recently and it was great. Everyone enjoyed their food and the selection for lunch was very good - could have a salad w/a protein or soup/salad/appetizer, etc. We weren't rushed and did stay quite a while talking.
Froggy's is always wonderful. The service, food, ambiance is outstanding.
I had a lovely green salad with vinaigrette, a marvelous cappuccino....but my quiche was almost like a pancake... unappealing and served with gravy on the side..strange....maybe the kitchen was having a bad day
Dined here for my birthday last night (first time here ever)!! It was EXCELLENT! So mad at myself for not coming here sooner!! My friend and I each had the sautéed goose foie gras and escargot for appetizers(both GREAT. Loved how the foie was in a bigger size compared to most French restaurants too!) For entree my friend had the lamb which he loved; I had the Chef’s Surprise Game Meat Special (wild boar, rabbit, and duck)—It was AWESOME! So flavorful, tender and fresh!! For dessert, we shared the Chef’s Surprise Assortment— there were 6 different desserts on 1 plate (I couldn’t remember what each of them was because my friend and I pretty much ate the whole thing at light speed—it was fantastic!) For wine during our dinner we had a bottle of Chateau Neuf du Pape—it was mind-blowingly out of this world!! We loved the ambience of the whole restaurant—very dark woodsy BUT full of colorful paintings and all sorts of colorful little open upside down umbrellas stuck to the ceiling—definitely the most awesomely happiest and cheeriest French restaurant I’ve ever been to! The service was spot-on as well—our server was very attentive, efficient and friendly! We would definitely come back here a LOT!!
The first time we used Froggy's for New Year's Eve - could not have been better! It was a very comfortable, classy evening with restaurant and server handling the special evening in a manner that never felt rushed, overlooked, etc. This truly is one of the best classy establishments on the north shore.
We had a fabulous dinner, food and service excellent.
I would definitely recommend Froggy's. We thought both the food and the service were outstanding. It has a casual elegance. The menu offers many interesting choices. Parking was easy. It was our first time there and everything more than met our expectations.
Wonderful holiday meal with outstanding service, food & wine!
I returned to Froggy’s this past weekend after moving out of state. We made a point of returning to see how the Restaurant faired.
The experience was as wonderful possibly better than we remembered.
The menu is well thought out.
The appetizers were beautiful and varied. From perfect Fresh Oysters to my Chilled Artichoke with Ratatouille.
Entree presentations were beautiful and well executed. The flavor combinations were thoughtful and delicious.
As for the dessert , I ordered the Espresso Mocha Meringue.
It was one of the best Dacquoises I have ever had.
Happy to be reunited with an old friend.
We always love coming to Froggy's - it has become our annual holiday dinner treat!
Every time we eat at Froggy's, my husband and I wonder aloud why we don't do it more often! Took our friend on a Sat. evening (did have a reservation). From the valet to the cloakroom to the check in ... everyone could not have been nicer! But I save my biggest compliments for our server, Mika (Micha?) and the food. Our server was not only charming and helpful, but really knowledgeable about the food. The mushroom soup was outstanding as was the fish special ( Baramundi ). My friend ordered the sweetbreads
( a childhood favorite that she said was every bit as good as her mother's ). But the best part was dessert, when my husband jokingly asked if they had Rootbeer floats.... There was no rootbeer but the kitchen did a good job of copying one with coke!!!
A nice lunch with my mom... food is always outstanding
We brought our friends. They are hooked. They had Barramundi for a special was delicious. Warm and friendly, like being at home.
Special birthday for my Husband. Disappointed they didn’t comp his dessert. We had a rather expensive dinner and think they missed the mark on this. Everything else was perfect.
Disappointing. We have been to Froggy’s many times and this is the first time for an unsatisfactory experience. I think Chef must have been on vacation. We began with Kir Royals which were very good. Salad and soup were as we expected - tasty. I had the fish special and my husband had the beef special and that is when the meal fell apart. The fish was described as being served with a beurre blanc sauce. Mine arrived with no sauce at all and side vegetables were cold. My husbands side vegetables were cold as well. We summoned our waiter and he returned the dishes to the kitchen. When they came back mine was served with a sauce on the side but it was not a beurre blanc. Our vegetables were barely luke warm. At this price point I would expect better.
Great restuarant with a creative menu. Service was superb.
Service was outstanding and our server was very helpful. My entree of rack of lamb and wild Boar was beyond. All just excellent and we’ll be back soon.
Well, overall this place is decent, really enjoyed the tuna appetizer and mushroom soup. I do think it's a bit over-rated though. What's the deal with the umbrella's? Is it French to have a British umbrella on the ceiling? Unfortunately I may have ordered the wrong thing, although one could argue that all things should taste good there. I ordered the rib eye, Medium, and was VERY let down. The steak was tough, not tender and was chewy. It was clearly cooked poorly, perhaps over cooked or just a low quality steak. It's quite unfortunate that the most expensive item on the menu was no good.
Attentive and friendly service, artfully prepared plates, high quality food. We would go back again for sure.
Made a reservation for a birthday. It was raining very heavy and they sat us in the front room, we could hear the rain pouring very loudly. We were pretty much the only people sitting in front. Most of the food was excellent, as usual, except for the my fish, which was slightly on the dry side. It was supposed to be served with some sauce- there was maybe a teaspoon on the plate. I was also slightly disappointed that they didn't even put a candle in our dessert for my husband's birthday.
Froggy’s has become our go to for fine French dining that rivals the French cuisine available in downtown Chicago.
We always enjoy our dinner at Froggy’s and our service was very good, we however we really missed our favorite waiter Victor!
Good French cooking. The dishes are creative and the service is professional. It is obvious that the pastry chef is a chocolate addict because the chocolate medley dessert was over the top.
Froggy's was fantastic. Food and wine were excellent. Service was impeccable.
What a wonderful experience at Froggy's last weekend. Loved it. We had a table in the bar area and it was so comfortable and relaxing. Service was top-notch, and the food was divine. My boss loved it too! Thank you!
Fine atmosphere with French Bistro cooking. Very good service from a caring staff.
Very delicious food, nice and quite atmosphere! Free valet parking is a big plus!
This was exactly what we were looking for in order to have a very quiet lunch, celebrating an 88th birthday. Most guests were in the front room so the dining room was extremely quiet which made us very happy. The food was very tasty. The reason I'm giving Froggy's an overall 4 instead of 5 is because we weren't allowed to switch between getting an appetizer or a side salad (which seems unduly rigid), and because we were overcharged (which was corrected which I brought it to their attention).
