Frog Hollow Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We had heard great things about this restaurant from co-workers and decided to give it a try on my husbands birthday. There were great creative choices on the menu and the waiter did a great job of describing the entrees and answering our questions. He even made good suggestions for popular items on the menu. We like food that is full of flavor and our entrees met that goal in an overwhelming way! Now we want to taste some of the other creative menu items. The food and the experience were worth every penny!
Our reservations were at 6:15 but we informed them that we had tickets for an 8 pm show and it would be fine to "rush" us. Our waiter informed us what to stay away from because of the extra cooking time. We had a great meal including dessert and didn't feel rushed. We made it to our show with 15 minutes to spare.
I was craving for Duck, and Oh My! The duck here is exceptional!! My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. I was satisfied with my portion size, however, he stated he should have received more than 3 scallops for the price of the meal. If you're looking for fine delicious dining, this is the place!
This restaurant is unique and has seasonal menu items. I would recommend listening to the full description of the menu and specials when you get seated. Once seated there are plenty of options in the mid $$ range. Service was exceptionally provided by Katie. Staff was generally friendly to provide 3 courses or more if you desire.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive our menu with a note stating Happy Anniversary. That was a wonderful touch to making our evening special. Our server was great and the food was fantastic. This was our first time at Frog Hollow; however, it will not be our last. We were very pleased with the overall service and food.
We were celebrating our anniversary and Frog Hollow had a special card attached to our menus acknowledging our special evening. Our server Rhett was perfect as was the overall service, food and their usual attention to detail. This is my favorite restaurant in Augusta overall for finer dining.
We have been to Frog Hollow three times in the past 4 months. We have thoroughly loved the experience every single time. The first time we sat and ate at the bar. The bartender was attentive and explained everything about the menu and what local farms each of the items came from. The second and third time we dined at a table and Cole took care of us. He makes sure that you are well taken care of, but doesn't hover or crowd you. We would recommend Frog Hollow to anybody visiting Augusta, GA or make it one the places you go to anytime you want excellent food.
Probably the best dining experience in Augusta. The service was nothing short of superb. Very good wine selection and excellent farm to table foods and veggies. Go with the special, in my case the pork chop, since they have special sources of pork and know how to put a sauce on them that moves the humble chop into "veal chop" tenderness and taste. Excellent. And, yes, get the mac and cheese. It is creamy and dreamy which is not what one expects from this American staple. Even with your kids, you'll find it impossible to eat Kraft Mac n'Cheese ever again. A bit noisy, so quiet conversation is difficult. But still worth it.
Everything was good here. Fresh ingredients, interesting tastes, good service, good bar. Best place to eat in Augusta! If you are looking for huge portions at low cost...look elsewhere. If you are looking for refined dining, great tastes in a well run establishment, you can't beat it!
