Frog Hollow Tavern Ratings and Reviews
I have dined at Frog Hollow many times and have never been disappointed. Tonight I tried the Duck and it was so delicious, just melted in my mouth. Had a side of the gouda mac and cheese and my friend with me had the halibut and it was amazing. For desert, the flourless chocolate cake made we want to order another and another and another. I love this place!!!
As always, dining at Frog Hollow Tavern was a special treat! I had the Scallop Perloo which was a relatively new addition to the menu and it was excellent! Their collard greens, mac and cheese with gouda cheese and creme brulee are exceptional. I love that this restaurant has classic dishes with a Southern twist and always have the freshest ingredients.
This was our first time at Frog Hollow. The service was good and the food was good, but not great. I had a scallop dish that was supposed to include crab meat. The scallops were good, but the crab meat was pretty hard to detect. I think the food may be somewhat overpriced for the quality. Overall, we will probably try you again.
As always, an outstanding meal with knowledgeable, attentive service. This is my favorite restaurant in the CSRA, and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys delicious food. While not inexpensive, it is more than worth the price. I look forward to my next meal at Frog Hollow.
My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic dinner and experience at Frog Hollow Tavern. The small plates were excellent, especially the Pork Belly Confit. I had the rib eye steak and my wife had the pork; both were excellent. Service was exceptional. We will be back.
This is a magical spot. Really fine food. Terrific cocktails. Lovely service. Wonderful experience. A gem of a restaurant. We always enjoy it when we are heading through or to Augusta. Thank you for the attention to every detail that makes us feel special as diners.
My family and I had dinner at Frog Hollow, as we have done numerous times in recent years, but tonight’s meal was extraordinary. I sometimes struggle with the menu at Frog Hollow so I took a chance on the Butchers Steak cooked per chef recommendations. Granted a Butcher Steak is a hangar steak which isn’t a cut of beef that has ever been anything except tough and flavorless in my experience. My expectations were low because of the cut of beef combined with my most recent 3 meals at Frog Hollow which were quite disappointing. The Butchers Steak was AMAZING. The Butchers Steak was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten my share of prime beef at fine restaurants in the US and abroad. The chef cooked the steak medium rare and served it sliced against the grain over a combination of earthy oyster mushrooms and an assortment of vegetables (which was spot on tasty). This was the best meal I’ve ever had at Frog Hollow, which I shared with the friendly and attentive staff, and I am very much looking forward to returning soon. My family sampled my meal and we all agreed it was the star of the table and the competition was tough with a ribeye and scallops special (both excellent), both strong contenders. I also appreciate the excellent choice of Cabernets and the fair and reasonable prices charged for top tier wines that are often double the costs at other comparable restaurants.
We went for my mother’s birthday - it was her first time at a “fancy” restaurant. All the food we ordered was delicious. Our waitress listened to what wine we liked and recommended a bottle that was great. She brought us extra bread to go with our appetizer. The dinners (ribeye, shrimp and grits, duck, and pork chop) were amazing. Our waitress recommended ordering a side of the Mac and cheese for the table to share and I would recommend the same! Too rich for one person, but perfect to share! We will be back for all our special occasions!
Server was excellent - just the right level of attention. Very pleasant. Food was very good. Don't normally good with brussel sprouts, but they were great. Portion size was more than generous. Have always enjoyed our times at Frog Hollow and this time was no exception. From the time we got there to our departure the staff and meal provided a most enjoyable experience.
Jerry and I came on December 16, 2017 for date night, it’s one of our favorite places to dine when I come into town. The food and drinks are delicious, we especially love the ribeyes. Your staff is awesome and very knowledgeable by telling us the specials of the day. You have found loyal customers in us.
We had heard great things about this restaurant from co-workers and decided to give it a try on my husbands birthday. There were great creative choices on the menu and the waiter did a great job of describing the entrees and answering our questions. He even made good suggestions for popular items on the menu. We like food that is full of flavor and our entrees met that goal in an overwhelming way! Now we want to taste some of the other creative menu items. The food and the experience were worth every penny!
Our reservations were at 6:15 but we informed them that we had tickets for an 8 pm show and it would be fine to "rush" us. Our waiter informed us what to stay away from because of the extra cooking time. We had a great meal including dessert and didn't feel rushed. We made it to our show with 15 minutes to spare.
