The on-the-bone pork chop is the best pork chop in Augusta! The hanger steak is great and the “Mac n cheese” is out of control! The entire meal was excellent from the cocktails to dessert. The service was fantastic!

My boyfriend is moving out of town so we went here as a farewell type of dinner. The food was good and the service was awesome! We loved the seasonal lemonade!! But his steak dish said it had asparagus as a side but yet he had no asparagus on his plate. I got the ribeye and it was DELISH, but the sauce was slightly salty and sadly I couldn't finish the farro on my plate because of the salt content.

One of our favorite restaurants. Never disappoints. Can never go wrong with the lettuce wedge and the pork shoulder!

Special dinner for our grandson headed off to college. Everything was delicious! Each of us ordered a different entree so we would share. Service is impeccable. Favorites are any seafood dish, pork shoulder, gouda mac & cheese and collards. Save room for dessert!

Everything we ordered was excellent. Service was very good. Our only complaint was the noise level. We would have enjoyed our dinner even more if we had been able to converse more easily. Will be happy to return in spite of the noise.

Best food at a fine dining restaurant in a long time.
Food was fantastic and the prices are reasonable for true farm to table fare.
Fine dining without being snooty.
Tomato small plate was delicious.
I had the butcher steak with homemade chips and my wife the shrimp and grits.
The BEST cheesecake I have had in years.
Rhett, our server, was charming, helpful, and efficient.
A perfect evening for us, thank you!

We are regulars at Frog Hollow but may need to rethink that. Every time we come, the food is saltier than the last, to the point that it's practically inedible, and we end up with a very sleepless night afterwards. My husband would have sent his lamb back this time but we were with another couple from out of town and didn't want to make a fuss. The staff continues to change, and this visit, our booth was dirty and the floor was slimy. We don't even see much variety in the menu any longer. There are so few decent restaurants in Augusta that we hate to see this one lose its luster.

My wife and I visited Augusta for the first time and used Open Table to find this restaurant. The shrimp and grits was one of the best I’ve had and my wife’s pork chop was even better. The service was excellent too.

This is our "go-to" restaurant in Augusta. We are returning customers. We order a different entree and are never disappointed. The bar is stocked with many top shelf selections. Wine list is amazing.
Servers are knowledgeable and courteous.

All ways excellent, tho we only get there 2 or 3 times a year Frog Hollow is one of our favorites. And true to its reputation, the pork chop is fabulous and I do love whatever magic is put into the onion.

We came to FHT for our anniversary dinner, it was our first time. Our waiter knew the menu and each dish as if he’d prepared them several times. When he described each dish, he did it with such enthusiasm and eloquence that our mouths were watering just by listening to him. I told my husband that if the food was even half as good as he made it sound, then we were in for a treat! We got a salad to share, delicious, I got the crisp chicken (OMG AMAZING!), and my husband got the butchers steak with a heaping pile of fries (very good), we also got a side of Mac and cheese to share (yummo!). Everything was cooked to perfection! I’d go as far to say that this was the best chicken I’ve ever eaten! Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire dining experience, and he treated us like we were his friends, not just customers. This was truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! Thank you for making our 14th anniversary dinner special and memorable! We will be back!

Good restaurant. Worth the drive from Aiken to Augusta. Small menu, but good quality. The fish my husband and I had was a little overdone, but good enough to eat and not complain about. We had their mac and cheese since we learned it was voted best in Ga. We ate every bite of that. I recommended to friends that it was worth going to. We will go back.

Great food and location. We’re out of ten visitors. Although it says proper attire on the door, many men wore shorts and servers wear jeans. It’s not as dressy as you think. I’d go back again and recommend.

We had not been to Frog Hollow in awhile, so my bride of 41 years and I visited last Saturday evening. Our server, Rhett, was very professional, friendly and courteous. He attended to our every need and we had a wonderful experience. We were glad to be seated away from the kitchen so as to have quiet conversation. We won't wait so long to get back! Thanks, Ed and Linda Lake

My husband and I went to Frog Hollow for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very welcoming. We were first greeted by Cory at our table. First he said happy anniversary, and then went on to tell us all about the history of the restaurant. Shortly after that Megan (our server) greeted us. She also acknowledged our anniversary. She told us all about to off menu items that were available. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable she was about the ingredients and where they came from. Mostly i was impressed with the way that she made us feel like some good friends of hers. I honestly will only sit at her table every time that I go. We ordered the pork chop with Mac n cheese and collard greens along with the shrimp and grits. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake, peach buckle and creme brûlée. ALL of the food was absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection, and the flavoring was incredible. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

For my husband and I, revisiting the Tavern is one of the highlights of celebrating another wedding anniversary. Whatever the occasion might be for us, the atmosphere is always perfect and the service is impeccable. I love fine dining and it's easy to discover a new seasonal favorite that's sure to pair well with the must-have mac-&-cheese.

It is known for excellent service. I think the food taste used to be better; the bread used to be better; the wine was $13 per glass and the cocktail was $12. The noise level was too high (they need sound absorption). In general not enough comfort/bang for the buck.
