Food was mediocre and chairs are uncomfortable
We weren’t there for long because the food and service was so quick (not a bad thing) and the food was phenomenal. This was my second time here and I am for sure coming back again!
Wonderful. Best sushi in downtown Chicago!
She liked it.
Top ! Cibo e servizio
Always enjoy going to Friend’s Sushi when in town on business though I can imagine, due to the ambiance and fresh fish, if I lived in the area I would be a regular.
Excellent sushi!!
Its good restaurant for sushi 🍣
In chicago i recommend this one
Absolutely
Delicious, lovely lunch. Spicy miso soup was a fun change. Tako balls appetizer really good.
Reviews mentioned frequently that it was crowded and noisy. For a Saturday lunch it was neither, but if real busy it would be crowded, tables are close.
We had a great experience.
We had to wait at least 45 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. This is why the service was poor. Once we were seated the service was quality but not while we were waiting.
Waited 25 mins for our reservation. Spent $165 on our dinner. Asked to “pack up and leave” after 45 mins into our dinner. Disappointed on how restaurant handled their over bookings. Frequent diners in Gold Coast and River North.
Literally so good! In from out of town and this was a close walk from the Magnificant Mile and the hotel we were staying at. My friend and I would excitedly go back next time in Chicago!
Great place for sushi. Would not recommend if you don't like dim lighting.
It was ok. Sushi wasn’t super fresh..
Sushi rolls were very good. We will definitely be back when were in town.
Delicious sushi and a great server. The space is very tight so if you do not like to be right next to your neighbor don't dine here! The great server and food helped to outbalance the tight space.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Chicago! Always great service and taste!
Good food ok service.
Great service and excellent food.
Went for happy hour with a couple colleagues and really enjoyed the maki rolls. We thought we had ordered some spicy ones - Fire Dragon and something else but they weren’t spicy. With wasabi on them, they were very good. Had a couple of the veggie ones too - what an awesome selection! The tempura sweet potato maki and futo maki were both very tasty. We’ll definitely be back! Oh and the cocktails were yummy too :)
Music too loud . Food verey good ant nice. Place nice and coozy
Excellent sushi! Enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and great service.
Food was good, I like the eel don, they used good eel. Raw salmon was made a little too salty. Overall good
Service was great and they made special items for us since one was vegan and great options on the menu...vast! The noise level is loud but the cozy-ness dulls it. The staff made us feel welcome. Pricey on some “staples” but worth it! Great choice if you want to have a fun relaxing eve with friends or a loved on if you dont mind sitting close to other tables....although as close as we are to other tables we still felt privacy.
I went on a date (just our third in total) around 8pm on a Saturday and I really enjoyed the vibe of Friends Sushi. The food was good, the music was good and the ambiance was nice for talking. Cool spot!
Rose was an awesome server! The Jinmai Roll was the best roll I have ever tasted. We’re from out of town and make a point to have dinner at Friends every time we come to Chicago. It’s great!
My expectation on dining at Sushi on Rush were high. The restaurant was cozy and funky, with a good vibe. the menu promised interesting and innovative twists on sushi rolls. Unfortunately, the maki that I ordered turned out to be mostly rice, with the heralded combination of ingredients hard to find. Sushi on Rush promised far more than it delivered.
Great sushi, small intimate venue tucked away on Rush. I’d go back anytime!
Small modern chic restaurant. Good menu and choices. Friendly service. Food was very good (noticably better than other Japanese restaurants in area).
Food was great!
I really love Friends but lately the service has been super disappointing. The last three times I've gone I've had to wait at least 10 minutes before an actual server greets me. That's unacceptable. The water guys will pour me a water but then I will wait and wait for a server to come up and ask me what I would like to drink/eat. This is really the only thing they need to fix. Other than that their food is always excellent.
Loud but the food was good. We had 5 in our party, and one person had to sit on a stool instead of a chair. Otherwise we enjoyed it.
Fantastic maki rolls! Simple atmosphere, modern/retro decor. Great staff and just excellent food, especially for the price. I would highly recommend Friends Sushi if you want excellent sushi with a no-fuss atmosphere!
I love coming to this restaurant. Food is delicious and the warm sake is a MUST!
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in town 🙌🏻💕
Wonderful variety of sushi, fun atmosphere, and excellent service!
All in all a frendly place to have Japanese dinner on a far price
Sensational...went there twice last week...great service and some of the best sushi I have ever had...and it doesn't break the bank..Next time in Chicago, I will be back
High quality sushi, great presentation, in a romantic atmosphere.
If you need to make reservations any time after 9pm don't bother. The kitchen closes at 9:45 pm. We were rushed to order, had so much food brought to us at once, it wouldn't fit on the table. A second drink was out of the question-apparently the kitchen closing affects the bar service as well??
Staff was rude, sat around waiting for us to finish-and TOLD us that! They cleared our plates and bar glasses, as we still had sushi left to eat. We we're out of the restaurant by 10:50pm on a Thursday night! Far from what should have been a relaxing, enjoyable, romantic dinner. For the price make sure you have reservations and arrive before 9pm.
Delicious! Loved the ambiance. Great drink menu too!
Service was a little slow and not paying attention at the beginning then improved
