Friends Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Just the fact of going to Friends makes it a "special occasion" I eat out regularly but when I want something a bit special I choose Friends Its a bit like saving the best chocolate in the box until last !!! The staff are always excellent , the owner Terry is always discreetly attentive and very amiable and above all the food is superb . This restaurant is a little gem in the plethora of eateries in Pinner, for something a cut above the rest choose Friends
Amazing food, service was great. Waiters were able to answer all questions. Slightly cheaper prices than central london, but some of the best British food we have eaten! Scallops and desserts were fantastic. 3 courses and soft drinks for 2 a la carte is approx £90. Can't wait for their winter menu!!
Cosy restaurant with excellent food. Good for a peaceful evening out in pleasant surroundings.
A couple of minor points where improvements could be made.
The restaurant is needing some refurbishment, the wall next to our table was stained as was the carpet. Also our table was adjacent to a service area so I spent the evening facing fridges and a noisy dish washer. My wife was seated against a cutlery drawer and a waiter was trying to obtain knives and forks behind her, almost leaning over her while she was eating. He did try not to disturb her but this was probably the worst table in the establishment and probably should be removed.
My past experiences of eating here with my family and friends were always excellent. On this occasion it was below par and was okish. The welcoming and service was very good, food ok and options of beers limited with no larger; the two beers I tried out of the 3 were good though. We will return and hopefully return to its excellence again.
The Friends Restaurant was very good, the food excellent & the staff were friendly & very helpful. The only drawback is the early closing, although they did not rush us, but the closing time was always at the back of our mind. The starter of scallops was Devine & the loin of pork was tender & excellent in taste. Most of our party had dessert & enjoyed that too. Overall the dining experience was just fantastic & David the manager was very helpful. I would definitely recommend a visit.
We booked for our wedding anniversary meal, mentioned this when they rang me back to confirm the booking - and they decorated our dessert plate with 'Happy Anniversary' which was a lovely finishing touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, t he menu was very varied. Taste and presentation of the dishes was wonderful. And the service, very attentive, not intrusive and we really like the fact we had some time between courses (maybe because they were busy? But whatever the reason it was lovely). The wine list is very good, we enjoyed a Picpoul at £24.95 which we thought very reasonable. We sat upstairs in the lovely listed building (husband banged his head more than once on nails/hook in the black beams, will ask for a different table next time lol!). Will definitely visit again and hope to take advantage of their 25% off (book by 7pm Tues - Sat, or Sunday? - great value).
Friendly welcome and immediately shown our table, which was just what we wanted in a quiet corner. Vert attentive service and advice given when asked on the menu. Good and interesting choice. The meal was excellent - hake for my wife, pork for me. The most interesting was the pudding. Delightful presentation, almost too good to eat! My advice - leave room for everything it really is a treat.
Value certainly and I am so pleased to visit somewhere outside of London were the pace of the life is much gentler, the quality of the food amazing and most of all the owner and staff are superb.
The food and service was very good. When they asked if we wanted water as well they included the option of tap water which was excellent. The waiters are knowledgeable about both the food and the legislative requirements. The only thing we disliked is the 12.5% service charge added to the bill. Although payment of it is not compulsory it would be much preferable if it were omitted and you pay what you want.
It was a very warm Saturday lunchtime when we visited Friends for the 1st time, but they had the fans on and were keeping it as cool as possible. We were the only customers at 13.00 but by the time we left there there were two other tables of guests. It is a delightful old school restaurant but our waiter was very polite and easy going. It was the set lunch menu only but to be fair with plenty of options and good value food. However be warned as with every other restaurant who offers a cheaper set menu that the xtras virtually double the bill. In our case one cocktail a glass of red wine and two coffee's double our bill to over £80.00!! But the food is very good!!
A very good friend spent the day with me on Friday, 9th June for the specific reason of her visiting the new William Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner and following that visit, there was no debating as to where we might have lunch - of course Friends' Rest in the High Street. We had a splendid time, 1st class service and food and of course a return visit is a "must" in the future. My friend has written her own review on Trip Advisor.. One little suggestion: we felt the overall experience would have been even more enhanced with some very discreet background pleasant music.
We went to Friends on a week night. The food was lovely - especially the desserts, which were not only the best we have had for a while, but also beautifully presented. The service was friendly but still gave us the space to enjoy our meal peacefully. A lovely experience.
