Amazing ambience, food and service. Highly recommend!

Restaurant was amazing. Food came fast and was delicious!! The Fried Green tomato appetizer is to die for, and the Lasagna was fabulous!
Will definitely return when I'm in the area!!

Fantastic service from the time we check-in with the host to being greeted by our amazing server at the table. The food is delicious and well presented.

Our server made sure to ask us how we liked our food and was very attentive throughout the entire time we were dining.

Great food and service!

I travel to Galena for the Carpaccio. It is by far the greatest dish. It is always the same and I hope it never changes. With a glass of Chianti this cannot be beat. The rest of the menu will leave you undecided as everything is fabulous.

Food was delicious, authentic, fresh and (did I mention) delicious! The warm bread brought to the table dipped in butter was a highlight of the meal. Do not skip dessert - it's worth rolling out the door!

The only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because we ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer and I was a bit disappointed. They were covered and cheese and sauce which was delicious, but didn't leave a ton of room to taste the tomatoes. However, everything else was outstanding. I had the Bruschetta Salmon and my friend had the filet with shrimp. And the Creme Brulee was good too. Awesome historic building and good cocktails. Make a reservation. It's a popular place for good reason.

Very good place to eat. From out of town but have eaten there a couple of times and it has been good both time. Would definitely recommend it to others going to Galena. Nice building and layout in the heart of the city.

This was my second time at Fried Green Tomatoes and it did not disappoint! There's a reason it seems to be the most popular spot on Main Street! Great atmosphere, menu service. Our waitress was wonderful - we were a group of four who split a bunch of dishes and she kindly had the kitchen split everything up for us. Will definitely return!!!

Great experience, excellent food, drinks and service. Loved the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. I had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly. The steak my husband had was very tender, not chewy, and was delicious. Will definitely be back, noce escape from Chicago and the prices are awesome.

Everything was delicious. Would of preferred to sit downstairs but table placing was ok. If we lived closer we would eat there more. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful dinner and felt safe during this time of Covid. Vanessa was fantastic and the vegan meal was great. I would note if a person is Vegan ask them if they don’t want any butter on cheese on bread and vegetables. Very nice evening

Valentines day

It was an excellent dinner. Our server which I failed to get her name was awesome. And the cake bomb out of this world. And she allowed us to take with. A great night cap for later. Excellent

Very good, very impressed with the overall atmosphere, service and food.

Porterhouse steak was fantastic. 1st time id ordered it and was very pleased. Usually have the filet when I have steak which is always great. Have had everything on the menu with exception of the espresso steak as I do not like coffee flavored anything. The atmosphere is always fantastic and the waitstaff is best in the area. We drive over an hour one way just to eat at FGT. The restaurant is always clean and so are the restrooms. This visit was our 1st to dine upstairs and it was really nice. Its quite a bit warmer than the 1st floor which was unexpected. We dress warm typically in the winter because the big windows can give a chill, but it never bothers us because we expect it. The building is very old. Im rambling now, but the bottom line is its hard to beat FGT for an excellent meal and experience.

This is not our first time at Fried Green Tomatoes and we usually enjoy the experience. However this restaurant is not following any COVID guidelines and that really ruined the experience for us. The kitchen staff was not wearing masks, there was a very loud, drunk party of over 15 people, tables were not socially distanced and they were at close to full capacity. We chose a late reservation and it was our first time dining out in over a year and we debated just leaving when we saw how the business is being run.

The food was outstanding. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The shrimp was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is quaint and clean. This was a very enjoyable dining experience. My husband and I agree it's one of the best meals we've ever had.

We were celebrating my husband's birthday. He chose FGT based on positive past experience. He chose the evening special: Wagyu sirloin and lobster mac and cheese. The presentation was so nice - he took a photo and sent to our son and his best friend! The mac and cheese came in a lobster shell. He loved it. This is the third time I chose the Espresso steak and it was as delicious, as it was the first two times. Very enjoyable dining experience - again! Thanks FGT Team.

One of our favorite places in Galena. So many good things to eat and such a nice dining experience in a cool old Main St building.
