Friday's Station Steak & Seafood Grill - Harrah's Lake Tahoe Ratings and Reviews
Ordered Rib-eye cooked medium. Came almost rare and less than medium rare. Had to send back to get refired. It took too long for service throughout the meal. Noise level was very loud in the restaurant. We have eaten at Friday's Station 4 times and are never overly impressed. I expect more for fine dining and probably will not return even though we go to Tahoe every few months. View is spectacular, but at the end of the day it is the food and service that needs to shine.
Second time I have eaten there and it’s the second time we have felt 2nd class to “regulars”. We stay in the hotel and love it, we gamble for days and I was just disappointed that our trip ended (for the second) time feeling “less than”. I make reservations weeks in advance to get a window seat and each time was not greeted very nicely. We did sit at the window but my date and I felt very unimportant. Beautiful restaurant and waiter was great.........just wished I didn’t leave there feeling yucky.
Will not be going back........sorry.
Went to Friday's Stations planning to enjoy an "old staple' on the menu: Their Snoopie Salad. We were disappointed. The description says: Butter Lettuce; it was mostly iceberg lettuce. Not much crab. As Tahoe locals, this used to be a favorite there. We won't be going back. Also, the service, while efficient, was not very friendly. And, the shrimp cocktail that we had before the salad, while good, was grossly overpriced. We won't be going back. Too bad. When Bill Harrah was alive, this was a great place. No more.
Everything on plate was perfect. Balanced meal where nothing needed any additional seasoning. The steak was cooked perfectly. The creme Brulee was among the best I ever had. The service was excellent and though I was dining alone I never felt uncomfortable or neglected. I would highly recommend.
I went to Friday's earlier in the week and the food, service and ambience were great! It was as advertised a "fine dining" experience. On this visit the service was terrible. Not only did the waiter bring the wrong glass of wine he brought the wrong color (we ordered white and he served a red). He did not bring the soup I ordered and did not have an explanation why. He rushed us and leaned on us as he cleared the table. Then the bill he brought was wrong. I had to speak with the manager. I do not know if the waiter was untrained, incompetent or rushed because of the Saturday crowd but the meal was not enjoyable and an overall bad experience!
One would think this was a premium grade steakhouse, but unfortunately that is not the case. While the wait staff was dressed in tuxedo like outfits, I knew something was off when our waiter said “ how can I help you guys??” Not, Sir and Madame, How May I help you this evening....anyway! The steaks were terrible with no flavor. A good quality piece of meat needs basic seasonings if prepared correctly. I won’t even feed the steak to my dogs and they eat anything.
The cocktail was ok but not the greatest.
I will say the environment is nice and of course the views are lovely but I won’t be returning to this steakhouse nor referring anyone here. Sorry.
My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend in South Lake Tahoe for our one year anniversary and we wanted to go out one night for a nice dinner. Friday's Station was perfect and the view was amazing. Our server (Heather?) was funny and laughed at my jokes which was probably the best part... she recommended a delicious item on the menu and brought us chocolate moose that say "Happy Anniversary" for no charge. I would return!
My date and I had a $60 bottle of wine, prawns/filet, King Crab Leg/filet and one cocktail....$250.00 was too much. Had to send steak back as it was way under cooked and quite tasteless. The one crab leg was the meal highlight. Our waitress was delightful as well as the view, but not worth the money both my date and I wont be back...
We went here for New Year's Eve and had excellent food and service by Tarius! There was a prix-fixe menu for the special night and the choices were great for $120pp. We started with Escargot and a seafood plate, followed by a Crab Caesar salad and a shrimp bisque, that was hot and tasty. For dinner, we had filets and lobster! The filets were cooked perfectly to medium-rare and the lobster was also cooked perfectly, not rubbery or dry. The only gripe I have is that the steak and lobster could have been hotter, but the portions were large and very filling. Dessert was a nice slice of chocolate cake and a strawberry mousse/parfait. Since the restaurant is on the 18th floor, there are great views of the city and the main strip. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We have always enjoyed our meals at Friday's Station and did so this last visit. However, we ordered the Seafood Platter and all the seafood was undercooked...in fact some parts were barely edible. We should have turned the plate back in but chose not to...our big mistake as the next day I had severe stomach problems! We were told by another couple we met that they too experienced the same issue....seafood completely undercooked.
The onion soup was delicious except for a bit too much cheese on top.
Our waitress was extremely flexible. Neither of us like fingerling potatoes and she was able to switch it out for a different side. We both started with the Snoopy salad this time (last time I had the excellent ahi tuna) and I can see why it’s a local fave. We had the chef special with grilled scallops and Chilean sea bass...also excellent. Friday’s never disappoints.
We had our annual trip meal at the chart house and we were so disappointed we decided to go out for another nice dinner. This place was amazing! The food and service were exceptional. My only negative thought is I think some dishes were priced a little high in the 70 range which I think is just a little too high. However, my husband and I will be returning and telling all our other family this is the new spot for our annual Tahoe trip dinner! We had the foie gras, escargot, wedge salad, sea bass with scallops and a fantastic bottle of wine. Service was top notch, atmosphere was great and the view of the city lights was great. They could update their sitting/ bar lounge with new seating and pillows but overall that would be a small criticism.
Friday’s Station is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere for fine dining. The view is gorgeous. The booths are situated so that everyone has a view. The ambience is elegant. Every menu item is exquisite and the service is excellent. I always look forward to a very special dinner there.
