Service was just right. Comforable for casual to upscale, interesting and different menu. Had the Camerones Diego, plenty of shrimp and the sauce was super savory. Try the Mango Habenaro margarita. Being on a diet I reviewed the menu on the web to make decisions in advance - don’t do that - the web site is not current. Some dishes are listed for 25-30 dollars are no longer served, nothing on the menu was over $22 or so.
Frida Bistro was amazing. My wife and I had a lot of fun celebrating Valentine’s Day there. It’s upscale Mexican food worth the price. I was particularly impressed with the fusion of flavors in the dishes. We will definitely return.
We head straight to Fida Bistro every time we come to SLC.
The food is a fantastic gourmet mix of fabulous takes on many mexican dishes. It's a darling restaurant even though it's in a bit of a strange location. We have been there twice in the last 4 weeks and it was outstanding both times.
I have gone to Frida Bistro for many years and I also know the owner, Jorge Fiero for at least 15 years. I have used catering services from Rico Market as well and have always been happy with the quality and price of the food. This past week, I went to Frida's to celebrate my son and my birthdays with our family. The margaritas were excellent, guacamole, chips and salsa varieties. The calamari appetizer was crispy and tasty. The coffee served was delicious with a little cinnamon flavor. The main meal we ordered missed the mark by a long shot. The food we ordered was a disappointment not just for me but for all my family. They all stated the food was good looking but tasteless. The Tres Leches cake, was dry and not moist as I expected. I was kind of embarrassed because I suggested we celebrate there.
Took my wife for a date night and was really happy leaving Frida. Food was really tasty, we started with essentially a queso dip, we at every last drop. Was worth the $8. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and ambience. Will go back again
Food was great. Service was slow. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The food is always amazing. But the service needs to be better. It took 20 min to get even a Diet Coke. My friend ordered a margarita and WA saw red 25 min later. Maybe need more servers?? Our server was awesome... Just slow.
The bistro is a wonderful reminder that Mexican food is (MUCH) more than the standard TexMex fare. The food has unexpected combinations of flavors, often with a spicy overtone. We had the stuffed pepper, beef, chicken and seafood dishes. I recommend the appetizers and coffee as well. Friendly service.
I have told others about your complimentary dish that you served instead of the typical chips and salsa but found you no longer sere any complimentary dishes. I was disappointed.
First time at the restaurant. Great menu, but wish it would have been explained better. Server took our dishes away too quickly. The food was creative and had good flavors. Will definitely be back and will recommend it to friends.
Loved this little hole in the wall place. Food was fantastic and made by hand. A great surprise find.
Love this place. It didn’t disappoint tonight. We’ll be back!
My wife's favorite Salt Lake restaurant. Consistently exceptional.
One does not usually equate creative cuisine with Mexican food but that's exactly what you get at Frida Bistro. Biggest drawback is the location of the restaurant, but we were warmly welcomed, had great service, and most importantly loved the food. Price is higher than what I am used to paying for Mexican food, but you definitely get what you pay for and the food was awesome.
They have a great selection of margaritas! The wait staff was very attentive and personable. The food was tasty.
The food and the service were both great.
Wonderful food and a quaint atmosphere, we will definitely be back!
We were in Salt Lake City for a week long vacation and during this time, had dinner 2x at the bistro. Service was great and stuff friendly. The food was lovely prepared and really delicious. Also the kids enjoyed their food. Definitely would go back there.
Appetizer looked better on the menu than it was. Pretty planning. Entree looked like it had been sitting for a while before it was brought out. Tasted like a good idea.
They didn't honor the reservation, because an unannounced private event.
The salsa and guac were great. The mole was great. I thought the carne aside tacos were hard to eat. The meat needed to be cut smaller or served on a plate so you could cut it. The blue corn tortillas were soft and warm and tasty. The mango habanero margarita was weak, but interesting. Overall, we liked it and would definitely go back.
Surprised that they rushed us out at 9:50 PM on a Saturday noting firmly “We’ve been closed since 9PM.”
Our dessert came out at 9:15???? The staff was very irritated that we weren’t ordering wine.
This place was a really good pick for dinner. Service was excellent. The good was fantastic. I would totally recommend this to anyone I know.
Frida's Bistro was CLOSED on Monday 23 for lunch, even though on the day before I had received a confirmation of my reservation for a table for 6 for that date and time. It was MOST embarrassing since we were celebrating a special occasion. I was most annoyed! Hence the poor review.
Consistently Remarkable food in a warm and beautiful setting. We have consistently had great service and food. We highly recommend Frida Bistro❗❗❗❗
The food was fabulous, and the salmon to die for. The service however needs some work. Server was not very attentive, wait time for the food seems to be excessive, and we were required to ask for more water, coffee, etc. Overall, the food was worth the other inconveniences. Will go back again.
Great meal. Great ambiance. A bit of a mix up and delay of one entree but staff was attentive and took care of it quickly. Love this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was not very crowded and the service was right on. The food was beautifully plated and just as tasty.
We went for an anniversary dinner. Overall this restaurant may have the best food that I have ever eaten. We had two excellent craft margaritas and an excellent mango/habanero limeaid. The entire menu is gourmet Hispanic and every single dish was excellent. The Calamar Azul (Blue Corn Dusted Calamari with Lemon & Roasted Jalapeño Aioli) was the best calamari that I have ever eaten, slightly crispy, still chewy, with just the right hint of heat. The Camarones Diego (Jumbo Shrimp in a Luscious Chipotle Cream Sauce Served with Rice & Cactus Salad) was creamy and moderately spicy and amazingly tasty. And don't leave without trying the Mole cake with black pepper ice cream. The service was prompt and considerate and overall the setting was intimate and romantic.
Our waitress was a bit underwhelming - when we asked about favorite dishes she acted a bit put out and said everything is good. Food was great!
