Freshcraft Ratings and Reviews
I was in town for a few days visiting a few friends and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner on my last night. My friend had suggested we try Freshcraft after I told her I had already gone to Avanti.
The food was EXCELLENT! The brussels sprouts appetizer was superb and incredibly succulent. The burger was phenomenal. The service was nothing spectacular, but he was attentive, knowledgeable and honest. I always appreciate a server who is honest enough to tell me what the restaurant's signature dishes are without trying to sell me on what's most beneficial for the server or the restaurant. The whiskey list was broad and featured well-known whiskies as well as other craft whiskies.
The price point was reasonable and very affordable. Overall, if I'm ever in Denver again, I'll definitely be back to dine at Freshcraft!
Freshcraft is a hard one to rate. We had reservations through Open Table and were seated quickly, but then it took a good ten minutes to be approached by a server, pushing us past the end of Happy Hour. Thankfully, Freshcraft has a grace period on that cutoff, unlike some restaurants, so at least that made up for the slow service.
Our server was amazingly knowledgeable about the various (and very numerous) beers on tap, which was awesome. So many establishments' servers don't have that ability, so I applaud that!
Our drinks were excellent, but our food was a little lacking. The fried pickles were very bland; and call me what you will, but a fried pickle needs ranch, not some fancy aioli. Leave the aioli for the nicer dishes. :-) Let's not try to dress a pig in pearls, friends. :-)
The steak in my steak frites was VERY good... but VERY close to well done. I ordered it medium rare and had maybe two bites with some semblance of pink in it, but we were late for a concert and didn't have time to have it remade. For a well done steak, though, it really was tasty.
We came back after our concert for drinks and a snack with friends and were surprised to find that they close at 11:30 on week nights. Never let it be said again that Oklahoma has nothing to do on a weeknight! At least our pubs and restaurants are usually open beyond that point! I'm no expert, but when the packed Pepsi Center empties, it's probably ideal to have more than one dive bar down the street left open if you want to keep those concert-goers around. But maybe that's a development yet to materialize in a rather newly fixed-up area?
All in all, it was a good experience and one I'd revisit again if in Denver. The problems that we did have seemed to be eagerly rectified by the servers when possible, or at least offered if we'd had the time to wait for it.
And if you're a craft beer enthusiast, you'll not be disappointed in their selection and knowledge of what they have on hand!
Food was exceptional. Service was lacking. Bartender was helping our waiter who brought our meal to the table. When asked to bring condiments for the meal like a salt and pepper shaker, the bartender completely ignored the request. Bartender was literally 10 feet in front and would not look our way. Took another 5 minutes to get waiters attention .
We had a party of 8. We all ordered something different.
The food was so-so. It was super loud. We wanted to visit since
we hadn't seen each other in a long time. The beer selection was good.
We enjoyed sitting on the patio before dinner.
I had the vegetarian tacos. I wanted some protein so I ordered chicken with them.
Very weird tasting. Never had anything like this and it wasn't very good.
Fish taco or taco with beans for the vegetarians would be much better.
The mushrooms are not Southwestern Yuk
Waiter did a good job.
We've enjoyed meeting friends here several times. It's in a central location to the Denver Metro. They have good beer, food, and service. If we had one request it would be they dim the lights just so slightly in the back area, as it seems to be brighter than the rest of the restaurant. In general, you can’t go wrong here.
We live in the neighborhood and love going to Freshcraft. The food is always great and service and staff are wonderful. I am totally addicted the pretzel bites with cheese sauce it is my favorite and I've had many. Great beer on Tap my husband total beer snob and they never disappoint. You just can't go wrong with this place.
The servers and staff were very friendly but the service was really slow. We ate here for lunch and the drinks alone took 15 minutes and we only ordered tap beers. The food twice as long. The restaurant was only half full so I it was hard to understand the wait.
Pickle chips are too thin. Pork sliders were delicious. Catfish was delicious. Risotto was undercooked and crunchy. Didn't get my wine until I finished my main course. Would have been nice to enjoy with my food. But overall it was ok. I'd come again.
My husband and I visited Freshcraft because we were looking for a place to celebrate Valentine's Day (a day early) that accepted reservations. The menu looked tasty. We weren't interested in anything too fancy. We ordered the Southern Fried Pickles to start. The pickles were much too vinegary for our tastes. The slices didn't seem to be thick enough to make a good deep fried pickle. The breading was tasty, though. My husband ordered The B.A.R. for his entree and said it was very tasty. I ordered the Veggie Sliders. The sliders were tasty but the veggie patties could have been twice as thick. The bun they are served on was very tasty and almost overwhelmed the patties. For dessert, we split the Blackberry Bread Pudding Peach Crisp. It was very good although it was pretty short on the blackberries.
