Christmas Brunch was not bad. We were not offered any drinks and had to flag down a server just to get coffee. Not impressed at all that they added a gratuity to the bill on a buffet. Would hesitate to return.
I went with my daughter and son-in-law, and chose this restaurant largely because it had one of the more reasonably priced Christmas brunch buffet offerings. The staff were top-notch, welcoming and helpful. The food was fine, though I would have appreciated more vegetables. There was a good choice of desserts, including fruit and a chocolate fountain. We had more of the 'lunch' type offerings, which included turkey and ham with all the fixings. The breakfast food looked tasty, and included eggs benedict, waffles, sausages, and lots more. We had a great time, and I'd definitely return.
They dropped plates on the floor and the pieces ruined my aunt's shoes. The waiter offered just a towel for her to clean up herself. They said the discount in their ad was a mistake, but they would honour it still. However, on our way home we found out that they still did not give us the discount. We called and they said they would credit it back to our card. Too much trouble, we will not go back again
This is my 1st time dinning on Fresh Restaurant @ Radisson Airport for Christmas Eve buffet, this is really unexpected no matter the service and foods is great and price is resonable . I sure will go there again and tell my freind that the Fresh resturant it worth to go no matter lunch or diner.
Thanks
Mike
I had mistletoe lunch buffet in 2011 and 2012. There were less variety in 2012 than 2011 but food quality was clearly much better than before. Well done chef. Hot food and salad were top quality. Better than last year. It was good value for money. Pumkibn soup was top quality and better than before. Dessert was poor quality, as usual. Service was very very good by the south aisan and south-eat asian ladies. Merry Christmas...
Service excellent and I enjoy the prime rib dinner with the salad bar included.
Very good experience to dine out with my friend.
I have made a good choice at Fresh Restaurant in Radisson Hotel,
Richmond, BC.
Thank you.
Tried it for a family dinner and while there was nothing wrong with the food, nothing caught our attention either. We had a party of 10, and I understand its hard to get everyone's food out at the same time with so many people. But a 10-15 minute gap is substantial. To make it worse, we were the only party in the restaurant! Had a hard time getting their attention to pay, which is always frustrated. Finally their desserts disappointed. I got the apple pie -- they heated it up but the middle was still cold; clearly frozen beforehand. The kids order the Kit Kat dessert and you know there's something wrong when KIDS don't want chocolate. Would not return.
The service was better than the food. My family went there on Thanksgiving for dinner. I was the first time I went out for dinner on this special occasion. The turkey was dry and might have been re heated from the day before, mixed salad was old and slightly brown. The pumpkin soup was decent, and the dessert pie was decent.
Food was high quality and the presentation was fabulous. It was a touch bland, but salt fixed that. It was very quiet as there were only 2 others in the restaurant on a Sunday night at 7:00. Our server was very attentive.
after reading some pretty harsh review...i was a little hesitant making the reservations for the Father's Day Brunch...i was pleasantly surprised with the warm service and ample amounts of food constantly being brought out before the trays empty...the food was not great, but was good considering it was buffet food...
my only issue was that they added the gratuity along the food bill and taxed the combined...i thought that was a little crude...
Went here for Valentines Day
and really enjoyed their special menu. Would definitely go back there again for dinner.
had the shortribs for the mains...they were excellent, though a tad too salty; fishcakes were too salty & unfortunately tasted "fishy". We remembered about asking for no added salt, but not quite in time for the first course. And again, the dessert was salty. I wish this "adding salt to everything" trend would cease....it can ruin a meal. Empty on an early Sunday evening, so nice & quiet.
My husband & I tried out the dine-out Vancouver menu on a Thursday night. In general, everything is good except that we are the only table at the restaurant that night. It's so quiet and the restaurant appears to save energy by turning off most of the lights, and there is only one waiter there.
We head there and did not realize it is Dine Out in Vancouver season. We browsed through both regular and Dine Out menu, and decided to settle on the Dine Out menu. The items are fine - a bit small in portion, but I would rate them for $18 category instead of $28 per three course. We had enough people to taste all combinations of the Dine Out menu.
Very poor quality food for the $55/person for the 2011 Xmas dinner. Many shrimp dishes (apps and entrees) where shrimp shells were unpeel. Roast beef was way over cook. Sauces and gravy for meat dishes were much too salty.
For a brunch buffet, this is excellent. Lots of selections. Freshly made omlettes and belgium waffles. Although they only had raspberry syrup toppings. They had cold dishes, hot dishes, soups, lots of desserts, even chocolate fondue.
Service was great. $25 per person isn't too bad for a brunch at a hotel.
The staff were very accomodating. We had a last minute reservation for over 30 people and within one hour of making the reservation, they had a printed menu for our employees to choose from with many items to choose from.
The mushroom in balsamic at the salad bar was fabulous. Rest was standard fair and more than acceptable considering it came included with the price. If I had to pay $10 separately because it did not come as part of the meal, than I'd like to see more.
The Father's Day prime rib dinner was great. For as low as $25, the set came with a 6 oz high quality cut, fresh salad bar and good choice of fruits and dessert. In addition, there was life piano. Excellent value!
had the mother's day brunch buffet. wanted reservation for 12:30 but was put to 1:30 by opentable and yet we were the only ones left at that time and were the last ones to leave. we could have gone in earlier. service was not too welcoming nor classy especially with automatic 15% surcharge and didn't make moms feel any more special for taking her there that day.
Organ player was way too loud -- could not have a conversation over him!
Went for the New Years buffet. Food was average, and for the price ($38/per person) i feel that there are better alternatives. Food selection was very minimal and service was bad. Had to wait at the door for 5 mins before the waitress finally realize we were standing there after walking passed us several times. When seated, we got minimal service, and the server was not very polite. There was also the 15% gratitude charge added to the bill, although we got near zero service! Would definitely not go again and not recommended!
The seafood in particular was delicious ! The wait time for waffles was a little long as there was only one waffle iron in use. We will definitely recommend Fresh as a great venue for eating out.
a little bit too noisy..however food is good..
Place is clean, comfortable. however, food selection is not impressive for lunch buffet. i had one round on appy, main & dessert. then, i didnt have motivation to go back
Staff were great. Very friendly, accomodating and service was excellent. Great tunes from the live performer and even helped us sing and a little dance for out friends birthday party. awesome experience
Thanks!
A quiet surrounding. only a few tables on the this occasion. Do you mean Ambience? For Ambience was very good.
I was staying at the Radisson Vancouver Airport with my father and wanted to get something to eat without having to travel too far. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant in the hotel lobby, Fresh, had wonderful food and was affordably priced compared to most hotel restaurants. A bonus was 25% off to hotel guests and the fact that I earned OpenTable points just for making a reservation.
Two businessmen met for lunch. Very suitable for that purpose. Quiet, undisturbed conversations; pleasant, warm, friendly and timely service; good food, suitable portions, and attractively presented. Fair prices. A very nice experience.
this resturant has the best food in richmond and that is my opinion and if you are looking for a resturant to have a family dinner this is the place because the service is outstanding they are outstanding with kids the food is outstanding!!!!!!!!!! :)
Great food and we felt very comfortable and not rushed. Highlights were prime rib, basa,Eggs Benedict, spicy chicken, seafood/salad table and amazing selection of cakes. We were a little surprised that juices were not included in brunch.
This was my first experience at Fresh. It was Mother's Day. I guess I expected a little more of a "welcoming warm ambiance" Our party of five got the feeling that you just come in, get your plate, help yourself to the buffet and then leave as quickly as possible as there would be more people coming in. When the five of us spoke, we spoke quietly to each other. There were much large groups in the vicinity and they spoke quite loudly to each other. At least the hockey game was on and so we mostly focused on that until we were done. This is a good place for large groups and it is very kid friendly.
Our party of 6 went there for mother's day. We've been to some other top end mother's day brunches and the food was as good or better than any other place we've been. More variety than any other mother's day buffet and top notch quality. The main room has a long glass wall looking out onto grass lawn and hedge - nicer than I expected for a restaurant in an urban setting. Also noteworthy was that I dropped my ATM card in the parking lot and the manager found me and returned it! Only slight annoyance was they automatically added 15% gratuity to our bill; I don't normally tip serving staff at a buffet.
Second year at the Mother's Day brunch. Lots of great selection, high-quality foods, and exceptional service.
We originally had made the reservation for 8 people through OpenTable for 7:15pm, but I called them at 5pm to change to 5 and was told it's ok. When we got there, there was no one at the reception. The waitress finally came around after 10 mins wait. She was the only girl that covered the reception, busing and serving. We told her our reservation. Not only our table was not set up (there were only 3 tables with guests), she even said their tables can only accommodate 4, can we split into 2 tables? Have you ever heard of such a ridiculous suggestion!!!!! I went there because I saw their commerical on TV about their new renovation and so on. I suggest they can withdraw their commercial until they improve their service.
Peppercorn steak was WAY too spicy... I have never had such a burn in my stomach from the peppercorns...
It's was my first time at Fresh rest, the food was really good
We wanted steak and did a quick search in the area for a nice restaurant. Fresh Restaurant came up and I saw that they had a Prime Rib dinner on special for weekends. We went there and ordered the Prime Rib entree with selection of either soup or salad, and the "West Coast Trifecta“ Halibut, Chips & Caesaras entree as well. The Prime Rib was limited and luckily there was one piece left. The steak was cooked medium, not our choice as it was the last piece. It was still very flavourful and the grilled vegetable sides were delicious! My halibut was beautifully baked with potatoe wedges and crisp lettuce salad. They do live up to their restaurant name, FRESH, every piece tasted like it was cut right from the garden. I would go again :)
Service was slow given the restaurant was only about 15% full. It was odd to be served the appetizers at the same time as the menu course. Food quality was average, meat was abit overcooked. Noticed the waiters did not seem to know where to deliver the food to. They got tables mixed up.
We had the New Year's Day buffet, which has become somewhat of a family tradition. It seems though the quality and variety has slid with the passage of time. There wasn't any one item that I wanted to return for after my first plate was filled. I couldn't even find enough foods that I wanted to eat to fill my plate in the first place. The mussels were dry and rubbery, the chocolate mousse had a dried up appearance and was lumpy looking, and the waffles were done ahead of time rather than being made fresh. The service was excellent, and the beet salad was great. The eggs benedict was also not overcooked, which was great considering it was a buffet. My kids enjoyed the chocolate fountain, and the grapes and strawberries were fresh.
