Fresh Restaurant @ Radisson Airport Ratings and Reviews
We live in Victoria BC and have been going to Fresh for Christmas Dinner for the last 3 or 4 years. This year I reserved without checking the price assuming that the price could increase a little. Everything was the same as in prior years. A lot less people. When I received the bill, I was shocked that the price was 2x more than in prior years. Our meal over 1 hour was 1.5x our hotel cost for three days.
Went there to celebrate wife's birthday with our family. Restaurant was casual and not too busy for a Saturday evening. We had the prime rib and all you can eat salad bar. The salad bar was good with lots of variety and good quality. The prime rib was tender and came with yorkshire pudding and wedge potatoes. However, the prime rib was only medium in doneness with no other option. There was an all you can eat dessert bar for an additional $8. The selection was not overly large, but they did have fresh fruit and a chocolate fondue. We decided to skip the dessert. The waitress we had was very good. She was friendly and attentive and took away our plates quickly. Would not consider this restaurant as upscale, but more like a neighbourhood place to eat. Price was reasonable and we would definitely come back.
The food was terrible. Prime rib buffet the roast was so rare that they fried it to make it more cooked which made it tough. Everything was cold and salad bar wasn't good. Then they brought my husband a piece of birthday cake we didn't order and then charged us 7 dollars for it. When I mentioned it and only when I mentioned it they took it off the bill. Worse restaurant for such high prices.
It was a birthday party and we asked for a pc of cake for the birthday girl. The server brought the cake but we were charged $7 for it plus 15% gratuity on bill when it was only six of us. All those charges were not notified prior. It was quite disappointing. Their all u can eat desert bar is only $8. Won't go back for a long while.
We were at Fresh @ the Radisson Hotel for this year's Mother's Day dinner. Although the selection was only so-so, we were really happy with the quality of the food served, relative to the price we paid for. For a buffet on a special occasion day, we find the buffet dinner to be of great value since adults were under $40 each and children 5 or under are free. The presentation of the food was really quite good (again, relative to the price).
What I also really appreciate was the noise level. Even though it was a room full of Asians on a special occasion, the noise level was really rather quiet, we had no problems holding conversations - a rarity on a special occasion day at hotel!
We don't mind to come back at all!
We were looking around for an Easter Buffet Lunch in Richmond for the family when my sister-in- law noticed an Ad in the local paper about Fresh. Not having been there before, I was pleasantly surprised that it was located in a convenient location along Cambie/No 3 Road with ample parking in the front. Having gone to several other crowded noisy buffet places in Richmond, we were anticipating a huge line up, but there was none, we were shown right away to our table/s - two square table seating 4 people each near the buffet table. Since there were only 6 of us, I asked that the two tables be joined and the staff were quick to accommodate our request. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was good and ample! At other places we had experienced times where the food disappeared so fast, there were sometimes empty containers at the buffet table that took a while to be replaced. While the Price was on the higher side per head, we were fine with this since we enjoyed the quieter ambience and attentive service along with a large range from the Asian and Western cuisine served. We were able to hear ourselves talk and will go back again!
Fresh is our go-to place for sunday brunch at christmas...we always enjoy the friendly service and delicious, traditional style christmas staples. Seafood, asian, and fusion options make it very much worth the drive and price...(best buffet price in vancouver for food of this quality)
The Foods are really bad. The effort to create a nice Christmas buffet was nice; however they need to improve the quality of the food. After everyone took their first serving, I saw nobody makes an effort to go for second helping at all. The carving station was bad. The turkey was bland and the prime rib/roast beef was tough. The rest of the foods are very bland, no taste. It seemed that the planning for the foods was not planned for Xmas buffet. There were only 5 other foods that they were creating other than regular eggs benedicts, sausages, bacons, scrambled eggs. Those foods were terrible. We definitely will not coming back to this restaurant ever again.
Had the prime rib weekend special. Prime rib was medium and well cooked. Meal came with a salad bar that was excellent with plenty of variety and tasted great. We went on a Sat at around 6 pm and found the restaurant sparse with very few customers. Was very quiet, but the staff was very good providing prompt service and help when needed. Price was definitely affordable and good value.
Made a reservation for 1 PM for 10 of us. Upon arrival we didn't see even single person having lunch during that time which I wasn't surprised about after our experience with this place. My brother is allergic to gluten and we made sure with the server to serve burger in a gluten free bun which they messed up and I ended up swapping my food with him as my order didn't have any gluten. The servings were small and tasteless when we asked for dessert menu the server mentioned that the chef has already left for the day. I don't recommend this place to anyone who would like to dine and have a pleasant experience.
For a hotel restaurant, this is kind of small. The menu is decent and good for small group. We had chosen the prime rib and they have a freshly prepared one ready for us. The portion is good and the quality of the meat is great. However, the salad bar is less than fresh and need improvement. I guess it requires more fresh ingredient and more choices.
We went to Fresh for its Father's Day Brunch. They had a good selection of food, however I didn't find much of it all that tasty. Don't think I got seconds for anything. The price was very decent compared to other Father's Day Brunches out there so I guess you get what you pay for.
We normally attend Fresh for Mother's Day brunch, but the kids' schedule meant we needed to do a dinner instead. The key difference was that the dinner service had the same items as the brunch, just without the brunch stapes like a waffle station. The main takeaway was that while the food selection and flavours were just like the brunch, there was a bit of "staleness" to some of the food items. For example, the cold paella rice seemed to be a bit "hard", and the roast beef was definitely smaller, and had more fat, that would be normally done at brunch. I appreciate how difficult it is to have fresh food for both brunch and dinner, but this was a bit of a let-down in some respects.
Overall ambience was appropriate for large gatherings, and service was good.
It was my first dining experience at the restaurant. The overall experience was pleasant. We ordered seafood pasta, prawns and veggies on rice, skinny chicken with potato and veggies, and a salad. Was a bit disappointed that they ran out of asparagus and had to replace that with bok choy which was not consistent with the skinny chicken dish. Otherwise the food was tasty overall, and at a reasonable price. The server was very friendly and attentive. We dined on a Wed night and the restaurant only had two tables. Felt like having dinner in a VIP room, what a privilege.
Service was great, however, my group ordered a shrimp pasta without cheese. The pasta taste like without seasoning. We also ordered the salad, it feels like is too oily and salty. Not sure whether because it is a Monday, that's why the regular chef was not on duty. My usual experience with Fresh restaurant was great especially on weekend however, this time I feel kind of disappointed.
Not knowing what this restaurant would be like - we went. It was amazing. . . . Very close to the Sky Train station in Richmond. . . The ambience was restful, attractive and intimate. Although the restaurant could probably seat a large number, it had an intimate feeling to it. . . . . the service was excellent. Our wait staff were some of the best we have encountered . . . .They could not do enough for us. . . . all enriched by good food served in a creative and 'tastefully' manner. . . We will go again.
This restaurant is a viable option if you want west coast dishes without leaving Richmond and paying big bucks. Food was good but service was slow and it wasn't busy when we were there. Our server was extremely attentive. We were surprised that the bill came with 15% gratuity already added since there were only two of us.
My boyfriend and I were only at Fresh for a Chocolate Martini, Montreal Style Cheesecake and Crispy "Kit Kat" Spring Roll. Everything we ordered was amazing but the Crispy "Kit Kat" Spring Rolls were to die for. Everyone who visits Fresh should try the "Kit Kat" with a little bit of vanilla ice cream. (it comes with it)
There were only another table or two so the service was also pretty good.
This was our second time we had a buffet dinner to celebrate special occasion at the restaurant. We were impressed the first time (Mother's Day 2013) as the restaurant provided a good variety of high quality food - tender & juicy prime ribs, baked oyster, smoked salmon soup, homemade potato salad, to name a few. This time around (Christmas Eve 2013), the food was disappointing - the roast beef was tough, baked oyster was replaced by tasteless prawns, baked ham was dried, and worst of all, the potato salad tasted exactly the same we bought from Super Store!! I could not really identify a single food item that impressed us. For $43 per person, plus 15% service charge, there are better options available.
We had a really nice time. We asked for a booth and they saved one for us. The food was fresh (pardon the pun) and delicious. I didn't like that when we were seated the hostess simply showed us the table and provided no instructions on where to go to get plates or drinks she just walked away. Overall it was a good experience and I would highly recommend it.
We were there for Father's Day brunch. The food was decent for the price of $29.95 on Father's Day. Although we would appreciate a lot more if the desserts were made in-house, that was the downfall of it. The waffles were a little to soft.
Coffee was good, service was not bad.
Overrall, i'd say it was expected.
Definitely not a good choice to dine at festive season. We were at the 5:30 pm seating on Dec. 25th. Food has been prepared way ahead of time; rice is all dried up (my 10 year old son said it's not edible), the salmon is over-cooked and very salty, turkey is tender but had been cut up and sat in the warmer for too long. In view of the quality of the food, it's way too pricey. The best of the dinner was the prime rib which was roasted to it's perfection and the chef was so pleasant in serving every slide of the meat.
