One of the worst dinners I’ve ever had out with friends. They didn’t have half the menu available, food was tasteless. That’s probably the one thing that really stood out, how tasteless the food was. It felt like a restaurant where everyone had given up and it was also pricey considering the mediocre food. If I could travel back in time and save my friends and I from having such a bad experience I would because it basically ruin our night
Great food, took 45 minutes though. Our server also switched shifts without telling us and our new server that we had to go up and find gave us the bill for the wrong table.
I had the crab eggs Benedict, which was served in an unusual way, on a sweet potato cake. 3 or our 5 diners had eggs and all were undercooked. 2 chose to send them back, which the server did without a problem. The service was excellent--helpful and warm. The best dish in our group was the Vietnamese pancake: flavorful and unique. A fun, casual spot in a lively part of Seattle.
I made a reservation through open table for 9 people. I called the restaurant & talked to a live person to tell them it was 6 adults and 3 highchairs - so seating needed to be at a large table, but only 6 adults. I then got a revised open table reservation for 6 adults. I called back within 5 minutes of the first call to explain and they acted confused but I thought we left on the same page. Upon arriving at the restaurant 3 days later they only had 2 high chairs. I asked for the 3rd and they said they only had two, in the entire restaurant. I asked why they didn't tell me that when I called either time and she stared at me. I asked to speak to a manager and she said he was busy but he'd come over later. We were there for 2 hours and he never came over. Secondly, the order taking process was a mess. Didn't feel like we had a set server - a few different people were helping us and they took 3 drink orders at a time and made them, then another 3, etc. It took about 20 minutes. Then, and only then, they took our order. We have 3 kids in 2 high chairs and 1 in our lap due to the first issue. It took over an hour to get our food from the time we got there. The restaurant was busy, but it is normal Sunday brunch crowd. No one apologized, no one came by to see how we were doing, nothing. We dropped a pretty penny and I would honestly never recommend again - I was embarrassed for bringing my friends there.
I love mondays! Half price on bottled wines (nice selection) and nice price on small tenderloin filet grilled and spiced perfectly!
Our Easter brunch was a disappointment. Service was slow, food was cold, under seasoned, and not up to their standards. Not sure we will return.
Came in for my anniversary on a Monday and stumbled upon great specials. Every Monday is steak night with 1/2 price wine bottles. Just a great time and a great deal.
Terrible service. They had overbooked reservations—or at least that’s what they said—so we had to wait in the bar for a table. The bartender ended up being our server which meant we had to wait for service when he was doing drinks. The food is also overpriced for the quality. Won’t be going back.

Glad to see more vegetarian choices, they need to plan better in staffing for Friday night or full crowd. They normally offer bread which was given to others but I let it go since we ordered enough. They also need better beer selection. I waiter said they are put of IP, but I heard the bar tender say that they got new one. Need to inform staff better.
This was our first time trying Fresh Bistro - we had a great time, loved the food, the restaurant was lively and the drinks were excellent. We plan on going back and bringing friends with us to try this great restaurant!
Per my 3 companions, the risotto with butternut squash was good, and the lamb burgers were very good (the smashed fries were "excellent"). My beef stroganoff was OK. The beef and mushrooms were tasty, but the sauce was somewhat bland, and the fresh arugula showered over the top of the dish seemed meant to conceal the way it looked.
Loved this find. Great food, fresh, unique flavors!
Monday night steak specials & half priced bottles of wine, you can not beat!!!
Food is AMAZING!
This was my third trip to Fresh Bistro. The food was excellent again. The portions are not huge, which to me is a bonus. I have not had a bad meal here yet. I will definitely be back.
We decided last minute to go out on Valentine's Day and they were one of the only places with reservations available, so were forgiving of the not great seat we were given (part of the reservation process included asking which kind of seat we wanted - which was not what we got).
We had to ask for water glasses and when the came, they smelled very strongly of soap. I would have asked for new glasses but it took forever for anyone to come by. The slow service continued throughout the evening.
They were out of the first bottle of wine we tried to order and recommended a bottle that cost $20 more. :-( We didn't get our wine until after we already received our dinner...and yes, we had a salad/soup too. It just took forever for everything. The worst part was that the wine glasses also smelled strongly of soap. When my husband pointed that out to the server he acknowledged that "sometimes that happens". Um. Ok. It was one thing with the water glass but the wine glasses? Come on! Unacceptable. That they are aware that they are serving wine in smelly glasses is insane to me.
The food was bland. I had the lobster bisque and it was flavorless. The lingcod was better but needed salt, which was not provided. I could have asked but didn't want to wait forever for one more thing.
We were surprised as when we've been to FB in the past everything was excellent. Maybe this was a one-off? This is why I gave three stars instead of two.
Delicious brunch and wonderful service. Definitely stop into Fresh Bistro! Will be back to try out the dinner menu!

Nice location, but pancakes were not whole grain, which id prefer. Also music played overhead which made it difficult for us over 60s, to hear.
We eat at Fresh Bistro at least once every couple of weeks. We love the food, wine, prices, wait staff and location. We can't wait for it to warm so we can eat on their lovely patio. We haven't had a meal in the bus yet but will definitely do that.
We have been to Fresh many times and it is very inconsistent, which we have come to expect. However, our visit on 1/20 was probably our last. They were out of a couple menu items, which narrowed our choices for non-meat entrees. The eggplant tacos had no flavor and were mushy. The butternut squash risotto was lacking the critical butternut squash - I think there were 2 chunks of it.
Basically they didn't even phone it in that night. Our server was very good however.
Usually get the corned beef in weekends. Didnt feel like it so I got the Brisket sandwich. It was solid and the sauce wasnt oversweet like I was worried.
We are sad that Fresh Bistro has lost the charm, style, and food quality that we had come to expect. It has been one of our favorites in the Alaska Junction area of West Seattle since it opened several years ago but it seems to have lost its way. The menu is tired and lacks the innovation and variety that it once had. Its service has become mundane and indifferent. It really seems like a place that has cut back to the bone on costs to survive--and it detracts from all elements of what was once one of the only really good places to eat near by. Hopefully it will get back to the high level it once had but that will require something different to make it happen.
My wife and I enjoyed a New Year's Eve dinner. We have dined several times over the years here for New Year's Eve and this was one of the best yet. Every dish we had was excellent.
Was looking for a last minute option for casual lunch on Christmas Eve and found Fresh Bistrow open. HOORAY! The service was attentive and kind. The bartender was extraordinary. This is on the backside of busy California Avenue (that I often hoof to) but I forget about this gem on the backside of the block (facing Jefferson Square). I need to come here more often; The food is always very good; well presented; and the bartending is superb.

Gem was our server and she was soooooo sweet - this was her first shift as a server and she did wonderfully with only a few very minor hiccups. She’s lovely, the food was delicious and I will be back and I hope to have her services again :)
The meal was absolutely outstanding. Kudos to the chef! The wait-staff was also very nice and did not rush us as we were celebrating an early holiday together. Just a wonderful evening.

I LOVE this restaurant, but my last two visits have had some disappointing elements. Most recently, two out of four of us ordered the Beef Stroganoff and the flavor was DELICIOUS; however there were only a few pieces of beef in the dish and some of it was very fatty (so not really edible). I’m not sure if they didn’t want to tell us they were running out of the beef or what, but it was disappointing. I consider this a true neighborhood gem but twice in a row is hard to accept. I hope they work any quality and service issues out so they can continue to be successful.

There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant while we were there. The service was quite slow. The food was OK with a limited menu. It's not inexpensive and we were overall disapointed with our choice.
Came here on a Saturday late morning around noon with my wife & cousin. The brunch menu is lacking any lunch options and only has breakfast options available. While looking through the menu there was definitely great potential for the listed items. I was between the Dungeness crab Benedict and the chicken fried steak, decided to ask my servers opinion who recommended the chicken fried steak. My wife ordered the hash brown plate after the french toast listed was actually prepared different than what was listed on the menu.
The food came out after about 25 minutes later, not terrible, but the restaurant was barely busy. The real disappointment came when we tried our food. Everything was so bland. The plate itself was colorful and vibrant, and everything looked aesthetically delicious but my chicken fried steak tasted like rubber. My wife said her entree was also incredibly bland. Service was not bad, just very non chalant & inattentive. The prices for the food weren't high enough for me to warrant a complain, but the Server did take a beating in tip.
My expectations were incredibly high because I have wanted to try Fresh Bistro since they opened last year, but unless there is a major menu change I doubt we will be back.

This restaurant is all over the map when it comes to their operations; the place is nice and clean but the service is good, not great. The mussels were amazing and the pork belly banh mi sliders were good but the duck was a complete disaster. The duck is described as roasted so I was concerned that there could be un-rendered fat if it had skin so I asked and was told it does not. She was wrong. That might have even been OK if it was not raw (actually cold) in the center. I would have sent it back had I not already been there for an hour and a half. Did I mention that part? I won't be back but your mileage may vary.
Service was unimaginably, painfully slow! We ordered an appetizer and two main course salads. We waited ONE HOUR to get our food. There seemed to be one waitress for the entire place. She was timid and wasn't able to answer some simple questions. With a 5:45 reservation, we barely made it to a play that started at 7:30, less than a block away. Disappointed. Frustrated. Expected better.
The Fresh Bistro presented many good aspects waiting to be integrated into a cohesive whole. The food and drink were good and satisfied our preferences. The ambience could benefit from some acoustic softening. Service could be a little more on the ball for the price, but no serious complaints.
Visited Fresh Bistro during Seattle Restaurant Week. It was ok. The food was good but it took a long time to arrive. Considering there were only a few tables occupied that evening, we felt fortunate it wasn’t busy otherwise it would’ve taken even longer. Even getting a glass of wine took awhile. The selections were good, but not innovative. The vegetarian shepherd’s pie was the exception. It was very tasty and so filling that the small portion was sufficient for me, but the rest of the table did not think the size of that plate would have satisfied them. The scallop appetizer was tasty.
The waitstaff was pleasant but inexperienced.
Overall, an ok experience but not a repeat one.
Second time eating here. It is sooooo delicious and flavorful! The craft cocktails are super tasty and the service is great!
