Fresh American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The place has a nice atmosphere and decor, dimmed lights and candles on the tables. However our experience was not the best here. It was Monday night and they seemed understaffed - 2 waiters for the whole place and it seemed like only one of them was actually taking orders with the other one just doing other random stuff around the place. They had a large party seated outside and we had to wait some time to get some attention. The food came quick though and burgers were good, no vegetarian options though so I had to stick to a combination of sides, which by the way was a bit of a problem - the menu said 'truffle fries & parmesan'; I asked for no parm please due to dairy allergy, waiter said sure, will do. Next day I had a bad reaction from dairy; when I had a look at the leftover fries it turned out the parmesan was already melted onto the fries and impossible to notice in the restaurant because of the dimmed lighting.
Also, we waited for around 15-20 minutes to get the cheque, the waiter seemed to be divvying up the bill for the large party outside and it was taking a very long time, during which no attention was paid to us.
18% gratuity was automatically included but we would've left 15% if that were possible.
My experience was just okay. Our server was attentive, but the runners were not. The food came out mildly warm (runner delays) and I had to ask for water on 3 separate occasions. The food was decent. The ocean view is incredible! If not for the view, I would not go again.
We booked using open table for a 10:30 AM breakfast for a party of seven on Mother's Day. We were told when we get there we could not order off the Mother's Day buffet as we did not make a reservation directly through the restaurant. The manager, a blond woman, made us feel like WE had a made a mistake and that it was our fault. They rushed us through our meal letting us only order al la carte off the regular menu. Will never be back. Horrible service.
I use to love the food and the service here. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!. Even asking for water was a mission. It took 15 minutes to get a glass. Bread basket at Least to curve the hunger NOT HERE!!. Another 20 minutes to place the order. Terrible service 1 hour to get the salad, at least it was fresh. We were only two!!! Asked the waitress how much longer for the food an 1:45 minutes after ordering and she said maybe 30 more minutes the kitchen is really busy. Had to leave and I Will definitely not be back. Such a Shame :(. BTW. There were at least two other tables near us also complaining about not getting the food and asking for the manager.
we ordered: margarita, veggie pizetta, lamb chops, asparagus, mushroom risotta, key lime pie... everything was great! even the lounge music cover bands of modern pop/rock songs.. good food and music with friendly service. A+ ... oh, all of the above totaled $125 for the 2 of us... so a little pricey, but it was fine dining with a great ocean view so worth it while on vacation
Beautiful view of ocean; Server not well trained or perhaps a language barrier; did not ask order to serve apps, small plates and entrees. One of us was eating while the other sat waiting for 15 minutes between courses on two occasions ; Shrimp app refreshing but bland; Cesar salad with kale was bland and kale inedibley tough; Filet flavorful and perfectly done; asparagus over cooked and uninspired. Lump crab cake was mostly filler. Overall would not return or recommend. The check when received included a 20% tip. I was surprised that we could not select our own amount.
I have been to FAB for brunch before and was excited to go back and bring a "foodie" friend from out of town. I was disappointed that the food wasn't very good. I know buffets with a large assortment can be difficult, but if food is supposed to be hot (ie: eggs, waffles, pancakes, crepes) then make them hot. The ambiance and staff is nice but not sure I would try this again for dinner - definitely not for brunch.
We enjoyed dinner at Fresh American Bistro. The view must be beautiful but we were there after dark. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The food was mixed. The risotto was spectacular as a side. My burger was ok. Steak was good and vegetables and salads were tasty. Fish was good as well.
Fresh products from the area, an outstanding and creative French chef and a very nice and welcoming crew. What else can you ask for ?
Their brunch is fantastic and very good value.
No they didn't pay me for this review but we make it a point to always go there after or before our cruises from Miami.
Even on a rainy evening, the dining experience was sublime. The eclectic background music ranged from Sinatra to electronic jazz. The starter breads were delicious with the olive spread being outstanding. Entrees were the right blend of comfort and sophistication. We had stuffed grouper and the wagyu burger. Good portions that allowed us to take home doggy bags...
Highly recommend this place , would rate it 5 out of 5. The food , service and view absolutely amazing. From the appetizer to desert everything was beyond delicious. Especially their Lobster Mac and Cheese, was out of this world. Service was outstanding., waitress very kind , attentive and made the experience that much better. And of course can't forget The view! Which is just beautiful. Over looking the the beach and ocean. There is indoor and outdoor seating.
We have been here under the previous owner (2 different versions) and like it. The service was always good and the food varied but the view overcame it. Now it's the opposite, the food was very good but the atmosphere, lack of service, high prices and loud music (they actually had a Frank Sinatra discjockey who was as old as Frank and must have been hard of hearing, hence the loudness). We're not going back for sure....
We went to FAB for a birthday celebration, however, after 2 reminders including a written notation on the Open Table reservation there was no celebration. Although the food was very good, I didn't appreciate the server giving me her card to write a nice note on Trip Advisor and the $7 fee to park- something that Acqualina doesn't do.
We were only looking for a place to have dinner after an evening check-in at the hotel next door. We were not looking for anything fancy and "bistro" suggested that this would be simple. In fact, the restaurant turned out to be quietly elegant, the menu was eclectic, the service was gracious and the food was delicious. There is even an outside dining space that faces the ocean. This place is not inexpensive but it was worth the price and we would recommend it.
Perhaps the Sunday brunch is ample, but our weeknight dinner was skimpy for the cost.
The service was initially slow (when we were the only party there).
Ultimately, we were one of two parties dining that evening.
The atmosphere was nice, with appropriate background music.
The fresh bread with olive tapenade was excellent. We started with Caesar salad (around $12, but tasty); my salmon was small (4 oz at best for approximately $26), and appeared previously frozen. It came with 2 halved GRAPE tomatoes and 2 tiny pieces of mixed greens. Any side item was extra and pricey. A friend had a blue cheese chicken flatbread which she did not like.
Overall, we were disappointed in our meal.
We are from Paraguay (party of 7) this year some of us wanted to experience a traditional thanksgiving Dinner, but some of us just wanted regular food. We looked Up for any Restaurant available late night that also has a regular menú. On opentable.com it said that on this Restaurant they had regular menú and thanksgiving menú, but once we got there, they only offered thanksgiving menú. Half of had to go somewhere else. Please check your posts for special days. Thanks.
The food was excellent, the portions were less than generous and the price a bit too high
The location was very difficult to find and we could not find the valet and had to park offsite. We had to walk thru a long alleyway to get to the entrance and were left with a large parkinjg fee at the hotel next door. The quality of the food was very good and I may try it again now that I know the way.
We were visiting Sunny Isles for a few days and found this hidden gem via online reviews. It's a beautiful beachfront location with a nicely designed and appointed dining room. We opted for the outdoor balcony to take in the view and were the only ones out there. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The service was very attentive and personable, although was definitely new to the restaurant as he had to check on menu and wine recommendations. But overall, great service. The food was very good as well. We started with their scallop tartar and a seared ahi tuna salad. Both were well flavored and tasty. The tuna portion was huge for an appetizer dish! We followed with main courses of their beef filet and grilled grouper - again both very good and well seasoned. My only knock would be that both were slightly over cooked (eg - we ordered medium rare for beef and it came out medium). We finished with an amazing chocolate dessert with pistachio ice cream. This was by far the winner of the meal. Also, cocktails and wine list were great and surprisingly well priced. All in all, I highly recommend this place!
Being that the restaurant is "overseen" by Michelin starred chef Phillippe Ruiz, I had higher expectations for the food. The lobster salad in the Signature Sole Salad and in the Lobster Club Sandwich was both water sogged and over-drenched in mayonaise. Snapper was fair. The only thing above average was the coconut flan. It's a shame that chef Ruiz has neglected to be more demanding or hands on in the food since the setting on the ocean is spectacular. It's a shame that the setting and food don't match. The wine list is adequate and somewhat fairly priced. Servers are friendly, but service is very slow.
