Fresco by Scotto Ratings and Reviews
Arrived at 7:00 for a 7:15 reservation. Told 20 minutes. Had to return a glass of wine because the glass smelled like bleach. Bartender agreed, "Yes, sometimes we do not rinse well enough." At 7:50, bartender sent over a round as an apology that we were still waiting. Finally seated at 8:00 after a stern conversation with the hostess. Lamb chops were delicious. Pasta was so overcooked, that it was mushy and ragu was runny.
Waitress, while efficient, never once smiled. Very disappointing overall dining experience.
I frequent Fresco by Scotto primarily for business lunches, however on this occassion I brought my mother and daughter here on a Sunday night after the Christmas show. The reservation was prompt and Clea was very very patient with my mom who had alot of questions and had some food sensitivities. The food was excellent as usual. I would highly recommend it!
The hostess called both staff and patrons baby. She didn't check us into our open table reservation. Our table was cramped next to the folks behind us. The wait staff took the place settings away from our two kids when we sat down but never brought them anything to eat with or drink from - even after we asked, repeatedly. Service was basically non existent after we ordered. We waiting for over 15 mins to pay our bill while our waiter took a photo with another table. With SO many other amazing restaurants in the area, don't waste your time here.
I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday with my wife here but unfortunately it was disappointing in almost every way. This is not quiet intimate dining, the tables are inches away from each other and there was very loud and obnoxious party of 20 screaming at each other behind us. We waited a while for our waiter to arrive yet our dinners appeared in less than 10 minutes after we ordered them, hardly anytime to enjoy our drinks or even the breadbasket that took longer to arrive than our meal. The restaurant was packed, so it really makes you think how much attention goes into the preparation of the dishes, especially since my meal did not come out as I ordered it. I declined to have it taken back as I hate to waste food and hate even more having my wife eat alone while I wait for my meal.
From sitting down to paying our bill was literally 35 minutes, it was crazy, we actually joked that we could have made a show. If I would have known they rush you out, I would have ordered an appetizer just to prolong the meal. The worst part of the evening is the waiter takes your credit card at the table and asks how much gratuity you want to add. In your head you are thinking, you ignored us at first, then you threw the food at us and my order was wrong. The women at the large party behind us have started singing/screaming Donna Summers songs and the people at the tables inches away from you are staring at you waiting to hear your response to how much you are going to tip this guy...what else can you say but 20% and try to get out of there faster than the food arrived.
We were just taking a long weekend in NYC and tried Fresco because it had been mentioned to me as a nice restaurant. It was very good Italian food and the service was wonderful. The place was full but only had a 4-5 minute wait for our table for 8:00 reservations. It will be on my list for a place to return.
Our first time here and it was wondeful. Great food drink and impeccable service.
Our experience was pleasant and relaxing.
Server was helpful suggested get options and specials. My wife opted for the risotto special while I went with the cavetelli with broccoli and sausage. Both were superb. Highly recommend.
The food was very good and the waiter was amazing!! He described everything in perfect detail, was attentive to our every need, and everything from drinks to food to desert was perfectly timed. He had a great attitude and I wish I remembered his name because he was that good. I would request him special the next time I go. We went early before the main dinner rush so we didn't have to wait for anything.
We head to NYC often for business and pleasure. We enjoy our dining experiences, but Fresco was by far one of the best thus far. The family who owns the restaurant was onsite and were pitching in all night long. They are warm and friendly as was every staff member. Our meal was delicious. I was a little disappointed they didn't have the traditional Ricotta Cake that evening as it is my favorite, but my husband had the Banana Pudding and it was fabulous. It was our first time going to to Fresco but we will be back soon.
This is our third time dining at Scotto & it is always outstanding. Everything went very well. Anthony made us feel at home and the food, wine & service was spectacular! Highly recommended. Looking forward to our next trip to the city so we can go back there again.
Excellent! Both of us had the pork shanks with risotto. Outstanding! Plenty of food. I'm a big eater and these were more than enough. I sent them an email asking for the recipe to serve on Christmas. Let's hope they send it to me! The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about all the ingredients and were very patient with our questions. Recommended wine with our meal was over the top good.
Will definitely be back!
The food was fresh of high quality and perfectly prepared. The service was impeccable and not rushed. The drinks were also expertly prepared.
The pricing is a bit high, but I did not get that feeling of being taken over the coals...Great job Scotto family for running a tight ship!
The wine by the glass was only fair (chardonnay). My wife had salmon which lacked flavor. My pasta was very good. Our waitress was very dry (no personality, almost as if she did not want to be there) and not very attentive (never asked how we were enjoying our food). The restaurant was very busy which may explain what was mentioned above.
Got the reservation same day. They were 10 minutes late seating us, which is acceptable. The food was very good, the service attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance quite nice. However, the tables were really close together and it’s a bit noisy, my only gripes. But in midtown Manhattan crowded noisy restaurants are the norm. This is an excellent eatery, I would go again in a heartbeat.
Overall the experience was good but that being said the table beside us knocked their bottle of red wine onto us covering our purses and purchases (clothing) in red wine. Our table was cleaned up promptly and we were given a take out bag for our purchases because our bag was soaked and unusable but the purchases required cleaning and our purses were stained. I felt that the restaurant should have at least comp’ed one of our rounds of drinks at a minimum if not more. It somewhat ruined the evening which happened to be my birthday.
Food and service were great! This was my second time and I will be back. I had a party of 6 and was seated upstairs. The room was a bit bland and nowhere near the ambiance we would have had if seated in the main dining room. Next time, I will make sure I ask to be seated there.
