Fresco by Scotto Ratings and Reviews
met an old friend for lunch / he goes here a lot and likes the restaurant. The service is good and the staff /owners are very friendly. However- the tables are very close together and the restaurant is very noisy. The food is very good but overpriced - my margherita pizza was $28.
This was our first time there. We would return. The wait staff, the greeters, the busboys all were very friendly. The one disappointing, which was not the restaurant's fault, was a loud woman who they seated next to our table. She was yelling political rants as she ran to the front of the restaurant. If FbS knows her, they should tell her to tone it down. The restaurant changed our table. The rest of the meal was pleasurable.
Unfortunately, this once great restaurant has slipped. The food was extraordinarily overpriced for its taste and presentation. We barely sat down, when our main course arrived. The bread was cold and we had to ask for olive oil. Go somewhere else!
Was looking forward to dining here since we see them on the Today show. It was disappointing. Food was rather bland, and very overpriced. I had an eggplant dish that was okay, but nothing special. My husband had chicken parmigiana and he found it bland. Our salad was good. One strange thing was when the waitress brought the check, she instructed my husband how to leave the tip on the check. Not sure what that was about, we dine out a lot and that has never happened before nor did it happen an more upscale restaurants in NYC. Too many other great restaurants in the theater district to give this one another try!
Thank you Fresco once again for a wonderful dinner. We were celebrating my daughters 25th Birthday and had been to your restaurant 2 years before for our 25th wedding anniversary.
we live far away but it is worth the trip into the city from Garrison NY for a delicious dinner. the staff was wonderful , even put a candle on my daughters Tiramisu . Love the meatballs, taste like my Grandmas.
Always love to see Mrs. Scotto, at the door ( I love Rosanna ) !

Excellent experience. Service and personal touches added. A very “local” clientele. It appeared the patrons have been enjoying Monday evening meals for decades, many on first name basis with staff.
If not mistaken, the owners/family were enjoying a Monday evening dinner too.
Best pasta dishes!
This will become one of my regular restaurants in midtown east!
After years watching The Scotto Family on TV, I chose Fresco for our Annversary trip to NY. We made an excellent choice. Mrs. Scotto greeted us and we were seated promptly. Our waiter was delightful and checked in throughout our dinner. Our Sommelier gave us terrific guidance as she answered all our questions.
Both our meals were outstanding as was the Cheesecake with Ricotta and berries.
We will be back, on our next visit to NY.
Fresco by Scotto is one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. They have a great menu and always have a nice rotation of specials to offer. The service is personal as they always make you feel right at home. Do take the opportunity to speak to the family of owners who are always represented (most often Anthony Jr. and Marion). They’re so gracious and welcoming. It’s an all around memorable experience every time you go. Go for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed.
Our table location was great, our waiter was excellent and the food was good, but a little expensive for what it was. Being Italian I know what it costs to make a dish of pasta. We had a great time and we would go again and recommend it, as long as they weren't overly price conscious.
From the moment I walked in and gave my name for the reservation , Mrs Scotto was warm and welcoming ! Bartenders were personable and made great drinks . Waiter was professional and attentive.
Table was reserved for 7pm. We are and sat there chatting . Had a great meal and three out of four of us had coffee/ tea and we weren't rushed out by waiter nor did he frown when we did not order sweets.
My high school buddies thanked me three times during the meal for choosing Fresco !
Thank you for a great night.
Warm and friendly greeting upon arrival. Polite waiter with no push to hurry and order . The food is wonderful, simply prepared to perfection. Wine list is very very good. It has quickly become one of our favorites and we will return in the very near future.
Have loved this place for years. However, this experience was a total disappointment: both our pasta dishes were swimming in far too much sauce, waiter was way too busy to pay any attention to us. Got the sense that (positive) past experience is no (longer) assurance of future performance. Maybe success is now being taken for granted.
