Great experience. Very good drinks. Service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend.
We eat there every time we visit the city.
Always a fantastic, delicious meal with impeccable service!
We had an extraordinary experience at Fresco. We arrived 1 hour late and the welcomed us with open arms. Our flight was late in arriving, we contacted Fresco, and they couldn’t have been nicer. We arrived to the most delightful waiter, Alan. There were three of us. We looked at the wine list which was overwhelming. We asked for assistance from the Sommelier and were concerned he would suggest an extremely expensive wine. He didn’t! He suggested a delightful wine for under $100.
The pasta was as good as it gets! All three of us agreed. Service excellent. Pricey, but worth it.
We waited 20 minutes for our reservations, and tables were open. Food was good but not cheap. I expected a better all around experience for the price.
One of my favorite places to go. In addition to all of the above the staff is warm and welcoming
Food was delicious and our waiter was great. The sommelier stood over my shoulder once the wine menu was dropped off, making many unsoliciated suggestions. He did not leave, even though I mentioned that I will look the menu over for a selection. This and the prices are a little over the top.
Fresco by Scotto has never changed. Genuine family greeting upon arrival, immediate seating if desired, while one waits for friends to arrive. Great attention from seating thru ordering thru terrific menu, tasteful and of course closing with desert. Highly recommend. Just great.
Our 2d time back in as many months! We had eaten here more than a decade ago, and forgot just how good it is. So glad we found it again! Get the eggplant pie and whatever ravioli special they're offering. Wine prices are pretty high (for what we ordered, about 3x what you'd pay for the bottle), but overall a wonderful experience! We will be back again. Oh, wish they could sell their cookbook, they should look at an independent way to print now that those things can be easily done.
The calamari gave us all a bad belly after eating it .
Have always wanted to try this restaurant as we are big fans of the Scotto family from seeing their cooking segments on morning shows. The experience did not disappoint. One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to and being Italian I can be critical. From the special appetizer of the day to the creamy polenta I can not rave enough. Will definitely make this my go to Italian restaurant when visiting NYC.
This was our first time here and it will not be our last. The food was amazing and the service could not have been better. We were there with three young kids and the staff were so incredibly friendly and kind with the kids.
No offense to the owners, but I can get better food in a nicer dining room and with better service in the burbs
I understand rents are high in that neighborhood but 38 dollars for a plate of good but rather pedestrian pasta is a joke, hey but it’s a capitalist system so more power to them
Used Open Table to find a place for New Years Eve dinner and found this gem. I didn't know it was owned by Roseanna Scotto and her family. They had a availability and based on reviews looked great. It was. We arrived early and were seated promptly at a nice table for 5 in the rear. Very quiet and the decor was really nice. I was aware that the prices were ala carte and that the dishes ranged from 20 for appy to 40 for meat. The star of the show were the pastas. In the neighborhood of 35. Expensive? Yes but well worth the price. We had and appy of Potato and Zuchini chips with melted gorgonzola which was amazing. Our entrees were a Caesar salad, two pasta with chicken and beef bolognese and a shrimp and spaghetti and meatballs (not your pizzeria kind) all were excellent
. Just the right size portion not over whelming Tiramasu was great too. Only one complaint and I admit it is minor..but why do these upscale restaurants insist on charging $5 for a 4 ounce glass of diet coke? and then have the nerve to charge you AGAIN IF YOU WANT ONE MORE GLASS? All in all I would go back...I'll just bring a bottle of coke and do my own refills.
Fresco bu Scotto never fails! Service, food, ambience...!
Overall positive experience...will hold more business lunches there
Always a wonderful meal in all respects!
We went to this restaurant because of the family's everpresence on the Today Show. We were not disappointed!!!!!👏👏👏
Service was first class and the food was delicious. The tables are a little close together and you can hear the conversation at the next table. However, everything else was so perfect that you can overlook that. I highly recommend and would go back again.
Delicious spaghetti and meatballs ! Chicken Cutlet was awesome too. Service was very good. On the negative side, 1) we felt very very rushed. 2) prices are high - especially for cocktails/wine.
Great ambiance, service and food.
Although the food was good ,it was extremely overpriced. I wouldn’t go back.
Fresco does not disappoint!
Delicious food, nice ambiance and excellent service by wait staff (with a special thank you to Alan!)
Look forward to going back!
Wonderful lunch. Great atmosphere, wonderful food(parpadel), excellent service. I especially enjoyed my company since we could hear our conversations. All good.
Family holiday dinner and theatre event-
The reception was very welcoming
Our server Sandra was the consummate professional - very informative , helpful, extremely well educated and spoke 4 languages which was quite impressive - Her demeanor was so professional and your establishment is very fortunate to have an excellent employee like Sandra working there.
The food was excellent as was the wine selection - one of your floor managers was kind enough to recommend an excellent Tuscan wine
Overall a great experience and your restaurant will certainly become a regular destination for us in the future
The service was really subpar. The server gave my mother the wrong entree and the wrong desert. We tipped 20% because it’s Christmas, but would’ve demanded to speak to the manager at any time. I’d still return because I generally like the place and the food.
It was Xmas eve fixed dinner!! With that said the food was magnificent!! Side note best meat ball ever.
Visited on Christmas Eve and made reservations in advance. They sat us right away in a cozy little nook. Greeted by the family and great to see them all working on a holiday there! Wait staff was excellent and very attentive. Lots of food for their prix fixe menu and perfect amount of choices! All the food was delicious especially my salmon and the warm apple crisp dessert! Will come back soon for sure!
Fantastic!! Service was impeccable.
Will be returning.
Wonderful dining experience. Staff friendly and professional. Food is some of the best in NYC.
We always stop in when in the city. Family owned and operated.
Tonight was the first night I’ve ever had REAL Italian, and I’m not sure how I’m going to enjoy it ever again after this place!
Our FIRST choice when visiting NYC for a GREAT dinner. This Family owned & operated establishment offers IMPECCABLE service and OUTSTANDING food & drinks. Reservations are a must!!!
We visited Fresco by Scotto on a very busy NYC Holiday weekend Saturday night. We were greeted very nicely by Mrs. Scotto and seated immediately for our 6pm reservation. A very pretty restaurant, sizeable, very busy but not a bad noise level. Our server was a very charming middle aged Scottish gentlemen with a great sense of humor, and very knowledgeable. He served us well. My wife began with a Margherita cocktail which she said was one of the best she's had! I won't go through all that we ordered but we had plenty of appetizers and main courses, the food came out quickly, we were always attended to well, and the food was top notch delicious!! Enjoy your visit, you will eat well!
Awesome food!!! Great ambiance... will definitely recommend and visit again
Not very impressed. We went for my wife’s birthday and it wasn’t anything special. My husbands meatballs were burnt. Other dishes weren’t anything special and very overpriced.
The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional. The Scotto family is there to make sure you have a great overall experience.
Food was good. We (party of 2) seated upstairs in a very small room with 5 tables of 6+ each. Of course servers focused on the larger tips. Took us longer to get our check than our meal. Overall good food, no wow factor.
Weekend trip to NYC. See them on the Today Show and wanted to try it. Very good.
Just love everything about this place ! ❤️
My wife and I have been there many times before and have always enjoyed the ambience and perhaps felt that the it was worth UES prices. We ordered the ragu followed by the brick chicken. Both were honestly nothing special. My main objection however was that the wine list was expensive without any reasonable choices. I understand that restaurants have to mark up the wine but 400% is a little too much! The server although professional really only warmed up to us when she presented us with the bill.🤔
