We were by an open window looking out onto the sidwalk of NYC. For us it was perfect. Food was a good representation of Tuscan. Missing a few things like pesto but what the did have was quite good. The service is what stood out. Ever person that approached the table came with a smile and sincerely seemed to try to improve our time there. It gave a sense of dining in Italy.
Antonio very special waiter
Great lunch option for Midtown! The service is consistently professional, the food is delicious, and the ambience is relaxing and fun.
No points on open table awarded
Absolutely delicious pasta. The complementary bread was very good as well as the spread they put on the table to go with it. Everyone was very Pleasant and friendly . Our server , Antonio , was very nice and informative . We will definitely return again and will recommend to friends .
Everything here was just okay. I would probably not go back because I thought it was overpriced. Even though it was good and service was good, it wasn't worth what was charged.
i use to go years ago and it was outstanding. this time the service wasn't good. the waiter wasn't to busy taking care of i guess regulars.
The best meal we had in NYC! Dennis was amazing and just made our evening. The food was perfect and the whole experience was just wonderful!
Always a great meal!
perfect dinner, perfect service--loved the food and the staff was very attentive!
Fantasric food and staff is GREAT!!!!
Fresco’s was delicious. The ambiance, service and the quality of the food was excellent.
I had a wonderful evening at Fresco by Scotto (as always!); Freshest food in town! So fresh you'll want to slap it!! Impeccable service, and I even got to see and spend time with Anthony Scotto Jr (who graciously sent an appetizer to my table). I love the Scotto family, and I absolutely love dining at Fresco by Scotto! GO - you won't regret it.
Meal was ok. Hard to believe that they charge $12 for a special grilled bread basket.
Great place. Would go again. The service was exceptional.
The food and service were outstanding. Thank you Anthony and Marco. Particularly delicious were the pasta trio and grilled veal chop
From the moment I walked in I felt the warmth in the room as if I was part of the family - even though it was my first time feasting with the Scottos. I can't believe I've lived in Manhattan and never been here - it was spectacular! My cucumber, mint, elderflower martini was made so meticulously and was so perfectly refreshing. The friendly happy staff even let us stay at the bar well past our reservation time. I ordered a few different things, yet the veal chop was an absolute standout - one of the best things I've ever eaten! Ordered rare, it was tender, so flavorful and perfectly salted. I can't wait to come back! Woohoo!
Great restaurant but too noisy for me. I hate shouting over meals and losing my hearing
Prices were outrageous for lunch, even for NYC. $40.00 for a Chicken Caesar Salad?! Ridiculous. The crab cake ($32) was tiny and all filler, very little crab - extremely disappointing. The Risotto special ($44.00) had very little salmon, so again, way overpriced. Definitely not value received. Service was good, but they were filming various guests during lunch which was intrusive and unnecessary.
I was incredibly disappointed by this venerable Italian restaurant. The evening started well enough, but we had a 9:30 reservation. That shouldn’t be a problem in NYC, but I have noticed a systemic restaurant problem all over the world concerning late dinner reservations. Management sends the staff home before all the diners have finished eating.
At Fresco by Sotto it was akin to an exodus from the kitchen, as dozens of staff walked through the dining room on their way out and home. A skeleton crew remained with 4 tables still dining. Everything went down hill at 10:00 PM. Our server, who was perfectly nice, forgot my burnt broccoli order. He also needed to be reminded three times about an additional glass of wine. Water glasses went unfilled. The table next to ours sent back a terribly fatty piece of meat because the kitchen staff didn’t get another piece of meat to grill. When 90 per cent of the staff has left, it sets a tone in a restaurant that the night is over. Things deteriorate rapidly.
Fresco by Scotto is a very expensive restaurant. Our salads cost $25.00 a piece. Fifth bucks for two salads! My Dover Sole was good, but for $58.00, it better be. Pasta was average, nothing special. We ordered two ricotta cheesecakes, and when the table next to us ordered the same dessert, I realized the server forgot the berries that go with the cheesecake. It was amateurish, especially when you consider the bill came to over $300.00 for two salads, two entrees, two desserts, one glass of wine and one cocktail. The food was mediocre and the service ludicrous, once the kitchen staff was dismissed. Our meals at both Il Gattopardo and Il Tinello were infinitely better and for less money.
A solid high priced quality Italian restaurant. The thing is as good as the food and service are there are 10’s upon 10’s of great Italian restaurants in NYC that are as good or better that are not this expensive. $30+ for starters is usury but it was very good just not worth the price. Always enjoy the meal but regret the spend after. But I do come back just not that often
I WAITED A LONG TIME TO GO HERE AND REALLY DISAPPOINTED. SERVICE WAS BY FAR EXCELLENT, FOOD WAS COLD AND NOT GOOD.
Food was not up to standard from past experience
Service was excellent, the staff is really friendly and the food was good, although nothing special. We enjoyed the evening but everything was so overpriced. The wine list was WAY over priced. I still have a problem buying a $92 bottle of wine only to have the waiter screw off the top. I’m pretty sure this Pinot noir is probably $18 at Joe Canals. If you don’t mind blowing over $200 for 1 Caesar salad, two entrees and screw capped bottle of crappy Pinot Noir, go for it!
Decent food, but price is not worth it. When it comes to value for the money, certainly behind the list
Favorite spot in Manhattan! Delicious
Each year we meet with a large group to have dinner. Whether we're a group of 6 or 12, we are always treated as if we are family. Excellent service, superb food, bountiful portions. Every meal is always fabulous!
This was the best meal I have ever had ! Great menu and service. Wine selection was superb.
My colleague and I were 2 of the last lingering lunch time patrons (we had a 12:45 reservation and were still chatting until a few minutes before 3)...and the staff graciously allowed us to complete our conversation without pressuring us to get up. The food - as always - was delicious and the service was properly attentive and courteous. I have been coming to Fresco for over 15 years and plan to continue dine here for many years to come!
Celebrated our 30th Wedding anniversary and everything was great! Thank you
I had a favorite client from out of town with his family and I wanted something special.
It was a great dinner from start to finish!
I have been dining at Fresco for decades, it is a great New York restaurant, it never disappoints. Not only would I recommend it, I often do. Excellent food and a good place for celebrity watching. I will be back soon.
We go to Fresco almost every time we are in New York. Always a good choice and will continue going. Service was a little slow and off this time. I ordered lamb, which was recommended at medium doneness. Should have been medium rare. Plus, We chatted a long time during the appetizers, so once app plates were cleared the entrees immediately came out, so they were ready and waiting, which means the meat had been cooked and continued to cook while it was waiting. So, it was closer to well done. I could have sent it back, I know. Fresco’s is so service oriented that they would have jumped on that immediately. But, I didn’t. The meat was delicious, would have been better if we would have had to wait a bit for entrees to be prepared. Next time, i will ask for medium rare and if on the very slight chance, it needs to be cooked more, that’s an easy request.
The service is impeccable, my glass of ice tea was never empty. A warm friendly atmosphere and phenomenal food. Great location too. One of my favorite restaurants.
Wonderful. Great food. Fantastic wait staff.
The most disappointing thing was the pizza, it was on a flatbread and not tasty.
Very good as usual!!!!
Food was excellent. A bit loud
