Fresco by Scotto
It was recommended by a friend who works in the area and she goes often . I’d been to a film at the Paris and wanted a good restaurant in the area. The food was awful! I ordered a shaved artichoke salad - not fresh and badly presented . My friend ordered the tuna tartar w avocado and spent the night and next day sick. We should’ve sent it back.
We had a wonderful family dinner on a visit to New York! We had been there before on prior visits and we wanted to share Fresco's with our family! The food was excellent as always and the service was wonderful! We had an awesome time! A memorable, delicious and fun time!
Excellent service, great food!!!!! Birthday celebration was really nice!!!!
From the moment you are greeted at the door to the moment you leave, it is a delight. The food is always wonderful, and the staff knowledgeable and attentive. How lucky are we!!
Our waiter Antonio was amazing. Informative with food suggestions, friendly and polite, attentive to all our needs. A top professional waiter. He gets 5 stars in every category superb!
I have eaten here many, many times and I have to say I was very disappointed with my last visit. Our calamari appetizer was unspectacular and common, it could have easily been purchased at the Olive Garden for 1/3 the price. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, a dish you would certainly expect an Italian restaurant to prepare well. The pasta was beyond al dente, extremely hard, and the meatballs were so dry and overcooked that I needed several sips of water to wash them down. I guess it was no surprise that there was a sparse crowd of regulars and not many others. It would appear by the reduction in quality of the food that this restaurant is either on its way out of business or close. In a city full of Italian restaurants, I can't see myself choosing this one again any time soon.
Always consistently good with an ever-changing selection of delicious dishes.
Food was not great. Very very average. Not worth the prices.
Slightly disappointed by my last visit to Frescoes! Has certainly become more of a tourist / family destination. Was there for a business meal and room was too loud. Don’t appreciate having to pay for a bread basket or plastic/laminated menus.
Just a little pricy for lunch. For a business meal on an expense account, it’s worth it because the food and service are outstanding
Had a very nice 70th birthday celebration. Would recommend to others for special occasions.
The favourite of our trip! Outstanding food, impeccable service! Love the murals on the walls and the blue glasses dotting every table. The home made spaghetti and meatballs made me swoon.
Without a doubt, Fresco by Scotto is my favorite Italian restaurant. This is one of my go-to restaurants for business meetings. The service is prompt and friendly and the menu is always intriguing. You might even spot a celebrity now and then!
I don't like to leave long reviews but will say, the food is excellent. The staff was super friendly. And do NOT leave there without having the cookies and cream dessert.
Good food, a little pricey for what it was. However the service was excellent, extremely happy with that. It was casual even though I saw some people dressed up. Definitely for an older crowd, at least when we went but that was ok, this was a bday treat for someone older anyway.
Food was outstanding best pasta ever! Server was so attentive too- great evening!
Wonderful place! The meatball appetizer was the best! Service was impeccable! Wine list was impressive and reasonable.
We think the food here is great, and reasonably priced for midtown. Service was excellent as always. We visit on every trip to New York.
Fantastic service and excellent food.
A wonderfully delicious experience. The waiter recommended Moet & Chandon instead of Prosecco and he was completely correct. I had requested a Birthday celebration and after serving the desert we ordered they realized they had not brought a "birthday" treat which they then did, birthday candle included, accompanied by glasses of Moscato - lovely touch! The grilled lamb chops and veal chop were excellent, the grilled sausage was okay. The broccoli rabe and roasted tomatoes accompanying the food were simply the best!!
Even with the Scotto family in the Hamptons, the restaurant was still excellent...warm atmosphere, delicious good and good service.
Always consistently great!!
Consistently excellent cuisine. Superb wait staff. Always a great choice for lunch or dinner
We brought our youngest son to NYC for a few days of one on one time. Fresco has been on my list of must try restaurants! We came early ( 6pm) by New York standards. Waiters were attentive and helped my husband with wine selection. I had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. The meatballs were huge and so tender! I couldn't finish it all. My sons selections were not as plentiful since he isn't willing to try things. We ordered him the fritto misto with fried shrimp, calamari. He loved it and there was plenty to share. Thank you for a great meal, we hope to return on next trip.
Unfortunately the experience wasn’t as good as in the past. The food was not as good as I remembered but the prices were much higher. Still a friendly place with good service and pleasant ambiance.
Yum! Food is always outstanding! The focaccia is a wow! Papardelle with duck ragout is exceptional. Cant stay away!
Perfect business lunch. Everything was delicious! Table was ready when we arrived.
This restaurant is very expensive. Pasta dishes are in the high $20-$40, frankly paying $35+ for pasta is way too much. There are many other good restaurants in NYC for less money. It is not a value by any stretch.
The food was amazing, everything home made
It's a pleasure to again review Fresco by Scotto. The food is scrumptious. The staff is attentive.
Food was delicious & service was great
Excellent dining experience
Food was delicious
Our server Alan was just wonderful
Friendly and knowledgeable with his recommendations for food and wine
With all the hype that the Scotto's get we expected much more. The food was good but nothing special. The menu was limited. and the service was OK, but nothing special. It seemed like the place was filled with servers, who did not know what to do. They did a lot of milling around. No need for us to return.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. I am so glad we went. It is a beautiful restaurant and the service was outstanding. The eggplant pie was superb. The gelato was incredible!
We came for our anniversary and were seated in a cozy table for two. Our waiter was informative about the menu and also very friendly. I ordered a swordfish special which was delicious and my husband had the chicken/veal bolognese. It really hit the mark and he ate the whole plate. Our dessert came with a candle and a "happy anniversary". It was a wonderful night from our drink at the bar until we walked out the door.
We really enjoyed all that we tried from the menu. Service was timely. Pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and of good quality. I would definitely suggest for couples, small groups and/or special occasions. Prices were high, but to be expected as they are considered fine dining and in prime location. Beer selection was unique but limited in light beers for those watching their calorie intake. All around I.T was an excellent choice and highly recommended.
The wait staff kept coming over to ask if everything was ok. That was annoying.
We had 2 tables, 16 people for my fathers 80th birthday. Fresco was recommended by The Lotte New York Palace where we were staying. It wasn’t until the next day that we realized many of us found hair in not only our salads , but our drinks and entrees. Each trying to be polite and not ruin the evening , no one made a big deal. This is a health concern and exhibits poor management , service and overall hygiene of the employees. Would not return nor recommend the restaurant.
Beautiful cocktails, delicious home-made pasta and dinner presentations. Very attentive service.
