We went there with some friends to Celebrate a late Valentine's Day. I picked the restaurant because of the excellent food and choices available. I had a Gin Martini which was excellent and followed that with a glass of wine with my meal. I ordered a dozen raw oysters which were large , like I prefer, salty and very tasty. I followed that with the 1/2 duck which was one of the best duck dishes I have ever had. I get the duck at Mansur's ( a sister restaurant) regularly and this duck was a different presentation but just as good in it's own right.
Everyone at the table raved about the quality of their food and the excellent service.
Over all a GREAT restaurant.
I was very upset by the time it took to 45 min to order and 30 to get check. It took forever to find her and she was chatting with host. It was frustrating bc paying a sitter. Food was good but chimichurri was sweet with mint instead of savory like cilantro
We had a really fun evening at the Bistro starting with drinks at the bar, Eggrolls, Shrimp appetizer (very good), Halibut special and Cedar planked Salmon (very good). Ended with Caramel Custart (always good).
In love!!! Amazing food and wine and atmosphere! Will definitely be back
Special menu for Valentine's Day, but with lots of delicious choices. Special pink and red drinks and desserts. Service was great ( we always ask for Susan), and reservations well timed so not rushed but not kept waiting at our reservation time.
Didn’t meet expectations. The grilled oysters were very good and the cocktails were generously poured. Food was marginal, not fine dining quality.
The food and the service have always been good. I was disappointed that there were no flowers on the tables for Valentine's Day lunch. I was also disappointed in the iceberg lettuce wraps. I think a butter or romaine lettuce would be more friendly to the dish and better tasting to the person eating it.
We have been to this restaurant several times with great success. This time, however, we were seated in a new addition small dining room. It was very cold in there. Management was aware of this issue and had small heaters to place next to each table. I would have preferred another table in a different room.
Excellent food and service. Very reasonable prices. Quiet and intimate
Valintine dinner EXCELLENT!
Chargrilled Oysters were amazing! Lamb and fried seafood was okay and the scallops were good but kind of fishy. Great wine and amazing chocolate martini but nothing to write home about.
This place never disappoints. Everyone loved their entre as always.
French Market Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge! Great drinks and great food! Nice atmosphere. Fun times! Love the oysters. Awesome crab cakes. Marti
We love to eat at FMB. It’s an upscale casual neighborhood restaurant. The service is great. The staff is very friendly. Everyone knows your name. It’s recent renovations have made the dining experience even greater. Excellent wine list and the food is great too!
We went early to have a drink at the bar but it was packed, so we were seated at our table for our cocktails. We all shared the grilled oysters which were really good. I had the Red Fish on cedar plank, served with mashed potatoes and it was very light and mild. I can never pass up their Caramel Custard and it was delicious as usual. All in all, a really nice place for a good meal with friends.
Great lunch. This restaurant is one of our favorites. Susan is a great waitress!!
Great food. Accommodating. Friendly.
The waitress forgot my glass of wine and served me the wrong scallop dish. The restaurant is fine. Love the roasted scallops.
New menu with several new choices! We had the seafood pasta dish and the redfish on cedar plank. The fish was the best! Cocktails were very weak, almost watered down???
Caramel custard was really good as usual.
