The food was delicious! The noise level was very high and kind of ruined the experience. Seems to be a good spot for large groups not intimate date night.
Very nice dining experience. Was there for lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Our waitress was aware of this and didn't rush us. Service was impecible.
The food , the service and the menu is fantastic ! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the nightly specials are always great ! Chargrilled oysters are a must ! Thibodaux’s hidden jewel !

It was my first visit. I went based on previous reviews. The duck and sausage gumbo lived up to its hype. The carbonara was the best I've ever had. The service from being seated til we received the check was excellent. The negatives were that the seating was crowded and the noise coming from the bar combined with the music playing in the background made it difficult to hold a conversation with the other members of my party. It's too pricey to frequent often but would probably still go back for another special occasion.

Food was excellent especially lobster mac and cheese and duck gumbo. Our seating was not very good our table was near another table and I needed to lean in so staff could pass in back of me to service others. My companion was seated right next to a column so we could not move our table. He was very crowded They were busy but not so crowded we should have been seated at that table especially since I had made reservations well in advance. A number of tables remained vacant our entire meal. Kitchen sent out our dishes too quickly. Our appetizer and soup/salad came out together and then our entrée came when we were only half way through eating those dishes. We had to decide which dish we wanted to eat because something was going to be cold.
Server Tori was outstanding and skillfully handled the kitchen misstep packing some of the food to go.. I am from the New Orleans area and the food rivals some of the best restaurants in the city. Definitely worth the trip. This was our third visit to this restaurant and on the other two visits did not encounter any issues. We most definitely will return to Fremin's.

We have been eating at Fremin's for the past 15 years it was our go to place for special occasions We decided to go there for our Valentine Day date and we're very disappointed this year... The food quality and quantity for the high price was terrible!!!! The atmosphere was very loud and little to no ambience with the people at the bar being very loud we had to almost scream at each other in order to hear one another!!!! Not very romantic :( The air conditioner never kicked off the 1 -1/2 hour we were there and when our food came out we had to eat in a hurry in order for it not to be cold because the place was freezing!!! Needless to say we will not be going back there!!!

The food was good & plentiful.
The 6 grilled oysters were served on the half shell, bubbly hot from the grill, seasoned with lemon, butter & Parmesan cheese. Something like Oysters Gilhooly. There was a plethora of melted lemony butter on the bottom of the serving dish, & a large end piece of NOLA style French baguette, standing phallic-like, in the middle of the tray.
The small cup of duck & andouille gumbo was rich & well seasoned. It had many pieces of duck & andouille, & a small amount of boiled rice in the dark smokey depths.
The Soft Shell Crab Lafourche was an impressive serving: a sizable fried soft shell crab atop a large serving of angel hair pasta. Many large lumps of crab meat were scattered across, & ample brandy mushroom sauce wetted the pasta. The crab was crisp & tasty, the crab meat was sweet & moist, sauce was rich, & the pasta was plentiful, properly cooked, & well sauced.
Our hometown favorite for intimate fine dining. Locally-owned with professional chefs on staff for richest south Louisiana dishes. This is dining at its best. Don't miss this treasure when you're in the area.

We dined on a Friday night and it was too noisy. Would definitely return but not on a Friday night.
Service was fast and very friendly. The food was outstanding. I would, and have recommended this restaurant.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable. Charlie, the piano player provided cozy background music. The lighting and artwork created a chummy setting. The spacing of the large tables was a bit tight, especially if your chair backed up against the wall. This was a minor inconvenience.
A waiter's skill has a lot to do with how much we enjoy eating out and the "meal." Heather, our waiter has a nice personality, friendly and professional waiter skills. Heather was attentive and unobtrusive. She made us feel that the evening was about the diner and the food, not the server. Service is rated outstanding (5 of 5 stars).
Overall our dining experience was very good (4 of 5 stars). Most everyone in our family expressed satisfaction with their meal with the exception, the steak was overcooked. A family member asked for a medium steak and the steak was served well done. The food portions were just right and the sides were awesome. I would have rated 4 of 5 stars if the steak had been cooked as ordered.

Fremin's is a wonderful restaurant that looks like it should be in New Orleans. The restaurant was beautiful, the service was great, and the food was absolutely amazing! The filet mignon and crab cake was to die for! I would definitely recommend Fremin's for a special occasion dinner, as it was a little pricey. But overall, it was definitely worth it!
We had a Great Experience at Fremin's . Our Waiter Matthew was the best. The Food was great and made reservations for the following Saturday night, to bring out of town guests. My husband had a recent stroke and requested a quite room, which we received. Matthew so was kind and patient with him. The whole experience was the best ever. Thank you for giving us a wonderful Anniversary.
Fremins restaurant in Thibodaux, Louisiana...Judith and I ate there last night...The chargrilled oysters were excellent! They were full of cheese and spices and served piping hot, and a nice change from the traditional recipe at Acme Oyster House. The special for the night was veal cutlet with crabmeat in a sauce that put me into orbit! It was so tender and a delight to my tastebuds!
The cannoli with pistachio ice cream for dessert was a refreshing finish to an outstanding dining experience...cudos to Matthew our waiter and the servers that assisted him..I still give Fremins 5 stars even though the hostess that greeted us, I think her name was Melanie, had the personality of a broomstick. The wine list has a 400% markup, really guys, there's no need to price wine so high..lower your bottle prices and you will sell a lot more wine...needless to say, I saw most of the patrons ordering beer and wine by the glass...we brought in our own wine and paid the $25 corkage fee. In closing, my wife and I would definitely recommend Fremins to our friends and would dine there again if we ever have a reason to visit Thibodaux, it's an oasis in the night in a sleepy little town!
We had a reservation for after my daughter's master's degree graduation from Nicholls State. We anticipated that the ceremony would last two hours but it only lasted one hour. We all live 40 minutes to one hour away from Thibodaux, so we had no place for the ten of us to hang out at until our 5PM reservation. We arrived at the restaurant and figured we could have a couple drinks at the bar to kill the hour wait. We were greeted (not so nicely) at the door. They said someone was currently at our table and we would have to wait. No problem...I totally expected that. One of my children is underage (12) so she hung back against the wall since she could not sit at the bar. We ordered drinks from a pretty snooty bartender. It would seem like they would be accommodating since we were actually buying drinks, just not taking up their bar space... and there was absolutely no one at the bar and only one table at the restaurant when we arrived at around 4:10. I gave my daughter a very personal gift that belonged to her late step-father who died last year. She started to cry (not loudly, but she did have tears) and I saw the bartender roll her eyes. Well it took everything I had not to ruin my daughter's day! As we were sitting there waiting, I overheard one of the female waitresses/helpers telling the cooks over the counter that we were there an hour early for our reservations. I just can't believe that their business is that good that they can be treating customers like that. When we finally were seated, we had the most wonderful waiter named Matthew! He was super helpful, polite and accommodating. He was certainly a breath of fresh air during our not so great start. His service, as well as the food were great. I would suggest that they do a little training for a few of their employees. Sometimes people forget that "the customer is always right." They should make guests feel like they belong there, not like they are in the way while waiting for their reservation.
