Freds - Beverly Hills -At Barneys New York Ratings and Reviews
I have fined here countless times and have always loved it so I will go back, but my experience today was terrible. The food was not good at all, and the service was extremely slow. Not sure what happened and am hoping it was just a one time bad experience!!
1. When I arrived about 10 minutes early, I was told my guests had not arrived--then I spotted them on the other side of the restaurant waiting for me. It was just lucky I saw them--we could have been waiting a long time for each other to "arrive."
2. The pasta "with tomatoes" had about 1 cherry tomato and a lot of sauce.
3. The turkey burger was just a lump of dry ground turkey with a slice of cheese--no seasoning or additions to make the meat flavorful or juicy.
No intention of returning; plenty of better places to eat in Beverly Hills.
We were the last reservation of the day-- 5pm. The service (Michael was our waiter) was exceptional and considerate. I had added a note in my reservation that I needed a fruit plate for my Raw Vegan Gluten-Free guest, and Fred's accommodated us. I had the Vegan Salad (and skipped the onion) was perfection. The quinoa to kale ratio was perfectly balanced, and everything was delicious!
I went with some coworkers for dineLA. Never would've occurred to me to seek a restaurant in a high-end department store. The food was good but the service was great in spite of how quickly it got crowded. The noise level was pretty loud (but I suspect it was because some of the patrons were tipsy). We even spotted a celebrity on the way out. The interior was nice and if you're seated near the elevators you can get a view of the city. Of course, the food was delicious. A bit pricey but hey, it was dineLA. :-)
The food looked great but very disappointed in my whole meal... the tomato and burrata salad can be broke down to no flavor (no taste to anything) and bulky (difficult to eat).. the shrimp and grain salad which again looks great but is bland, undercooked and smelly fishy smell.. Fred's spaghetti which again was disappointing 😢 the pasta was decent but the veggies were all cooked improperly and looked/tasted soggy while the whole dish has no seasoning... then there is the grilled salmon and fries which were dry and hard (both) and the fries tasted like desert sooo someone forgot to change the oil or reused oil from breakfast.. only positive note on the meal service was decent... very disappointing to say the least
Pleasantly surprised! My wife and I had tried this restaurant when it first opened and we didn't like it for many reasons. Time has passed and restaurant has made changes for the better. The restaurant is participating in Dine La, so this was the perfect time to give it another try. My wife ordered off of the Dine La menu and I ordered off the regular menu. Everything was great. Service was spot on, food came out timely and prepared exactly to how we ordered it. Will definitely be back.
Barney Greengrass was so much better. The food is just not good. We had shrimp salad and the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. It is also very expensive for such poor quality. I have tried a couple of times to like it because I love the location but I think I am giving up.
Brought my dad here for an early Father's Day dinner and the food and ambiance were delicious.
My only complaint is that we felt rushed. When I asked the waited why, he said the kitchen closes at 6:30pm.
Why am I able to make 6pm reservations when the kitchen closes at 6:30pm?!
That just doesn't make sense to me.
He was a great waiter; his service was good however, I don't like their policy.
No one wants to feel rushed when they spend money on dinner so they should take away that 6pm time slot.
We had a great table with no one near us. Our server was super attentive and on it. Food was delicsh. We had the Greek salad which was a large portion- three or four people can share it. We also ordered the burrata with heirloom tomatoes- super creamy cheese and very fresh tomatoes. Definitely worth ordering. And lastly we had the burger protein style- great taste and the havarti cheese melted on made it perfect. Add to all this wine and vodka, made for a perfect evening.
