Great place for a friends' lunch or dinner with spouse. Friendly, helpful staff too. Beet salad and caesar are my favs for lunch. The shnitzel looks tasty too!
Have eaten here numerous times and it is always perfect!
Love this place. Service is perfect, food is lovely. Thank you David for your service and friendship... We call it our Country Club. Always feel welcomed. You get to relax the moment you enter. Wether you wish to relax at the bar or have a great evening with friends in the dining room, the culinary experience is always excellent and consistent. We really enjoy dining there.
Waiter must have been fairly new as he seemed slow and awkward in his approach to customers. Example used the same phrase over and over "Is there any thing I can bring you". Yes, like water, like bread, like the check.
Excellent dining. the noise level was very loud at 7:30pm on a Thursday.
Food was good but nothing exceptional, service was better
I was looking for something different in San Antonio away from the touristy area along the River Walk. I found a gem. Sure, it is in a strip mall, but once you get inside, you forget that there are all the usual retail suspects right outside the door. Fantastic food - really, one of the best meals I have ever had in my many years of visiting San Antonio. If I lived within an hour of Frederick's, I would eat there at least once a month. Run, don't walk, to get there.
Great place to go for a b day the cake they had was incredible!
The lobster in the lobster salad was tough. Why why?
Always a great night at Fredricks. Food and service at excellent
This restaurant has a wide range of selections from which to order9. Our server, Sophia, was charming and very adept. Our party of four had two people on walkers, which were gently helped... easy access table, and good place for walker storage. It was expensive for me as I was just the " poor relative " who agreed to drive them. (No one else has a driver's license!)
Great food and service. Every guest is being treated as if they're a frequent guest.
My wife and I had been wanting to try Fredricks and it was worth the wait. Our waitress Paige was fun and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyed the restaurant week menu. I love this place and it was a good way to introduce one of my friends to them. Looking forward to a return visit.
A very good place to dine either for Happy Hour (5-8:00) or for a regular dinner. The selections of food and wine are many and varied. The theme is French-Asian fusion. The proprietor is normally there and pays attention to his guests' service. Prices for dinner and wine are a bit high for San Antonio. Plenty of free parking available. Servers are knowledgable. It is open daily, unlike many other fine restaurants in San Antonio which tend to be closed on Sundays/Mondays. Frederick's is my "go-to" restaurant for the entire north side of the metro area whether for Happy Hour or a regular dinner either alone or with friends from out of town.
Wonderful and fresh
We were a party of six friends who get together for good food several times a year. Two of us had been to Frederick's Bistro before and the rest were new to the restaurant. We all had a terrific time of it. The food is always exceptionally good (we really recommend the escargot with Spanish chorizo appetizer). So few restaurants are quiet anymore Fredericks excels at being conversation friendly. It is by far our favorite restaurant north of loop 410 and south of 1604.
Fredericks's is always a fantastic experience. Wonderful food. Good and friendly service. Stephanie is always very attentive. Both locations are great. Always look forward to a nice experience.
Highly recommend the lobster salad anytime and special lobster dishes during Lobster fest weeks. Excellent food and beautiful presentation. Fredericks Bistro is our favorite restaurant in San Antonio.
Usually I went there for business lunch and love the food and service. I have an out of town friend visiting me this past weekend and immediately I think of this nice restaurant and made reservations. As usual, another happy meal there, the owner and the wait staff are outstanding on top of their delicious meal entries.
We had a very enjoyable meal here and will definitely be back. The food was great. The service was wonderful and we could wear shorts!
We are repeat customers at Frederick's, and are always very happy with the staff and service. The food is generally excellent, but this time we tried their Lobster specials. Although prepared well, the lobster was tougher than it should have been and not very tasty. That may be more of a comment on the lobster we can get in San Antonio these days as opposed to any issues with the kitchen. But based on our usual experience at Frederick's, we'll definitely be back - just not for the lobster!
Salmon entree out of this world excellent!
The fish is always perfect. I have never been disappointed.
Appetizer and salad were a bit bland, but our steaks were cooked to perfection with outstanding sauces. Wine list a bit spendy, with only a handful of options under $50. Overall a lovely experience and we will be back to try the many seafood dishes.
It was a great evening!! Food was excellent!! As well, as the service!! I look forward to the next visit!!
We had reservations but were very late because of traffic wrecks on the freeway. I called them and they were very understanding and held our table. Their cocktails, wine and food were fabulous. Will definitely return.
We go regularly to this restaurant and are never disappointed. Staff, food, ambience are absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this for any occasion or just for an ordinary meal.
Outstanding restaurant with exceptional service and exceptional quality food.
Perfect French food and delicious
Always a terrific meal. Can never go wrong with their fish and the profiteroles desert is exquisite.
One of my favorite places in san antonio!
Excellent meal and experience
All good. At 7pm quite noisy from the bar area and difficult to carry on conversation. This disappeared when the bar slowed down. I have been here several times and the food is always excellent and the service very good.
We've been going to this location since it opened on NW Military Drive and have never had anything less than an exceptional meal with usually great service. This time our server was Nicole and she was definitely at the top of her game....courteous, friendly, informative, and professional. Frederick's provided us with the same old same old....a thoroughly enjoyable with great food & great service in a great atmosphere.
This hidden gem is in a strip shopping center in northwest San Antonio. When we drove up, we said, "uh-oh" but we wanted to honor our reservation. Once we stepped in the door, however, we were very pleasantly surprised to see a lovely formal dining room. Service was great, with a caring and attentive wait staff (but not hovering, thank goodness). The food, however, was the star of the show. Both my husband and I ordered fish and they were perfectly prepared. Desserts were good too. We will go back again!
The food at Frederick's is always delicious. Even as a vegetarian I always find plenty to enjoy. Tonight we had the Brussel Sprouts appetizer, which was enough for 4. I had the Frederick's salad. It had just the right amount of dressing so the salad stayed crisp. The augratin potatoes with sauteed mushrooms were my main course. Again big portions. I always love their apple crepia for dessert. It is no too sweet. I had plenty of leftovers to take home.
Spent our anniversary at Fredericks , it was amazing.
Romantic and the food was outstanding.
The wine list was excellent ; Insignia - Joesph Phelps.
I recommend the Dover sole, brussel sprouts, and cherry ice cream.
We'll be back for dinner or lunch.
I wasn't impressed at all. The menu didn't seem exciting, and the fact that there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant with us didn't seem right. It made things depressing. It wasn't a memorable experience, and I don't plan on going back. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't special especially for the price.
Every dish was superb - trout with shrimp, the red snapper, the apple crepia dessert. Bravo!
