King was our server last night and he made the experience even better. He was so kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. Oysters were huge and delicious. We enjoyed the snow crab for dinner and were astonished by the serving portions! They were huge and cooked perfectly. We finished our meal with the crème brûlée. We have not been able to stop talking about how that was the best crab legs we have been able to find all over Austin. It’s a true gem. We look forward to our next visit!

Excellent food and ambiance. Very nice staff, but our waiter wasn't very experienced. Had to ask for several items you'd normally expect to get, like napkins for the drink glasses. Nothing major just not up to par for such a nice place. Overall, I recommend.

All four in the dining party were extremely pleased with our meals. We dine at Freda’s every couple of months and the food is consistently fresh, prepared to our request, and attractively presented. Service is always prompt and the waiters informed. I highly recommend this dining establishment.

Hostess was ready for us and showed us to a table, immediately. Ross, our waiter, was friendly and offered suggestions when we had trouble deciding. Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had blackened catfish atop etouffe. I recommend it!

Our bill came out to $275 for 2 guests. We didn’t go overboard, but felt it was a bit pricey for this level tier of dining. The server was great, but did overcharge on a gumbo dish, that we wanted as a side vs. a full bowl too.

Early Valentine’s dinner. We haven’t been back to Freda’s in a long time, we moved to Georgetown. The food was excellent, their complimentary cornbread is scrumptious. Our waiter, Ross, was very helpful with choosing my entree. The pine nut crusted trout was a great choice. We will be back!!

Ordered catfish and coconut shrimp and paid up for baked potatoes. 2 small shrimp and I small piece of fish no butter in potato. Catfish had no taste at all. Shrimp were very tough. Waiter rushed us and was slow to bring us 2 tiny little scoops of butter. Very expensive meal for the two of us snd very very disappointed. Won’t come back.

Freda's was closed due to damage from an ice storm. I left a neutral review because I wasn't able to judge the service. I never received notification of the closing, however; so a phone call or email would have been a help.
