Fred and Steve's Steakhouse

Very loud atmosphere...food was pricey for quality though it was tasty.
My favorite restaurant
Best steak ever
For my wife and myself, Fred and Steve’s Steakhouse is like Cheers where everyone knows your name the service and staff is great-especially Errol who has been our server for years. Food is always first rate but if something is not quite right they will cheerfully accommodate you. And then there’s Phil-the maitre’d-he sings Happy Birthday with an operatic baritone-just another reason why Fred and Steve’s is our favorite restaurant!
Food was alright. For the prices we paid, we could have had better cuts of meat and sides at Fleming's or Capital Grill.
Also, it was extremely loud.
Was very excited to bring friends for dinner but that quickly diminished! We ordered the surf and turf and the filet mignon came out cold! We never send things back but had to. While everyone else was almost done eating the waitress brought out another plate and not only was it cold AGAIN it was so red it was not edible! We asked for it to be medium. The waitress did give us another sautéed spinach side and that was appreciated but we were looking forward to our entree. We had to ask for it to being taken off the check before the waitress did!! Something else should of been done, complimentary drinks, dessert, or something like a Manager coming over! We eat here every time we’re at Twin Rivers, not anymore! The couple we brought were not impressed!
Not worth the $. For the price you are paying you expect attentive service and certainly presentation on the meal, however this experience fell short. Ambiance was excellent with window seating overlooking the casino. Couldn’t have asked for a better seat however it all went downhill from there as other customers got louder and louder & you could hardly hear yourself talk. As the night got busier service also went downhill and we found ourselves waiting for the waiter to come by again and ask if we would like another drink however that never happened. French onion soup was outstanding tailgate salad was totally disappointing and not worth ordering. Bread basket was nice. Petite filet mignon came on a large white plate with absolutely nothing else on the plate and it was the most pathetic display of meat we have ever experienced. It was $40 for the petite fillet mignon and it came with nothing else- all accompaniments are a’ la carte. At the least there should’ve been some type of presentation on the dish with greenery and and accompanied sauce displayed on to kind of fill it in a little bit. It was truly a naked display on the plate. Very odd. Side dishes were ok depending on what you got. The broccoli au gratin -$8 was very good. Oven roasted Brussel sprouts - $8 were tough & dry, as well as cold. Totally lacked flavor and needed a splash of olive oil or possibly balsamic drizzle. Au gratin potatoes - $9 were a bit soupy at first, but did firm up as they cooled. Overall just not worth the money.
Excellent service and restaurant. We had an early reservation and people were lined up stating at 4:30 to get bar seats. Was a little confusing because there were plenty of open tables. Maybe a special bar menu
Steak and sides excellent- also had stuffed mushrooms and they were good too!
Had such a great birthday last night at Fred and Steves! Our waitress was so attentive and sweet. Would definitely recommend to friends. The NE Clam chowder was to die for. I got the scallops and linguine which was perfectly cooked and my fiancé had the "best steak of (his) life"- the petite filet. We finished the night with a chilled bottle of wine and complimentary dessert which was delicious too. Definitely coming back to try more!
The best steak anywhere, service is outstanding with 2 servers for every table
Great place wait staff and hostess very friendly. Our waitress went out of her way to ask if this was our first visit which it was and was very helpful with the menus. Told us that the ceaser salad was big enough to split as an app. Also the sides of garlic mashed we split on her advice we both had the prim rib one of the best I have had in years
My wife and I have been to Fred and Steve's on multiple occasions and have had a great dining experience every time except for this past one. It seemed as if the busboy or person who initially set our table and provided us with bread and water was much more attentive than the actual server. At the end of the evening, I actually made the busboy take a cash tip for the service he provided both my wife and myself. It was a shame that I had to tip the server the usual 20% as well because he did not deserve it but I am not the type of customer that's going to not tip properly and I'm not sure if that gets split among he and the other girl who waited on us. Just goes to show that even in the best of places with great food, ambiance and service, it only takes one lazy apple to ruin it for everyone else. However, we will not let that one event keep us from going back, as I said earlier, we love the food and the quiet atmosphere.
The food was very good. I had a baked scalloped dish and my son had a steak. The service was lacking, however. It took forever to get our check (20 minutes after finishing our meal, in that time no one asked us if we needed anything)
Great service (nick and eric??). Would have rather booth in main room rather than far back room with bench seating. Food was fantastic.
Food was as expected but the service was OUTSTANDING! Very loud, would be nice to do something about acoustics
You will not be disappointed Fabulous Steak Great Side Dishes
Food was good as it always is. Errol our server was top notch!
We waited for our drinks for 20 minutes the 3 guys seated next to us were loud and obnoxious so we left.
We eat there often. Good food. Good service. Very attentive servers.
We frequent at Fred and Steve's whenever we want to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a great meal. We have never been disappointed. The Staff and Servers are exceptional and helpful and the menu choices are all done to perfection and pride. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Big portions and expensive. But good.
Food delicious wait staff excellent went for sons birthday. Everything was fantastic!
Hi I must compliment your Waite staff in particular Errol and Steven the best ever, Errol hovered over us with continuous care and service. I must mention though that I was a little disappointed with my reservation, I am used to when you make a reservation you are greeted and seated. Not the case I was told because it was New Year eve there 4 couples ahead of us? then we should have been contacted. The staff was pleasant and after approx. 30 minutes they did get us a table, not by the window as I had requested? But Errol made up for my disappointment, and of course we will be returning as your Food is prepared proper and tastes outstanding. Happy New Year
New Years Eve
Steve was good waiter food was great. Should expand always booked on weekends
My wife and I have eaten at Fred and Steve's several times and we have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the staff is great. Errol and Kevin, our servers, were outstanding. I look forward to my next visit to Fred and Steve's Steakhouse.
Our stakes were very tough our mushroom appetizers were cold.
the staff was just great!
Veronica was just fantastic. thxs.
Service is great and food is fantastic . i would recommend anyone try it the food is great and my whole experience with everyone was good
We have been to Fred & Steve's many times and the food & service is always great. The last time the steak was not cooked the way we wanted it - medium & It came out rare. It was a three pound porterhouse steak that was already cut up. How do you send that back? The servers should pay more attention to the meals coming out.
All four steaks were cooked perfect medium- you’d be surprised how many steak houses can’t do that. Fred and Steve’s was excellent, and a great value. You get the Boston steak house experience for much less.
Impeccable service, best steaks around, homemade cranberry nut bread in the beg. which is out of this world, but the BEST was dessert: homeamde caramel shell, marzipone/whip cream/white chocolate mousse, topped with fresh berries of all kinds- the BEST dessert we hav ever had anywhere!!!!
I would rate Fred & Steve's along with Capital Grill, my other favorite restaurant. Reason for me is the lobster, lobster mac & cheese, Caesar salad & fried calamari with rabe. My husband on the other hand is not so impressed. He believes the menu is quite limited. Among the few times he came with me, one time he ordered clam chowder which was served without clams & potatoes & the baked stuffed shrimp was mostly stuffing! I cannot blame him. I now go with friends who also enjoy your menu & when I can be somewhat comped from gambling. My husband is willing to try one more time since I suggested he try the paella. I know he likes that from the Spain restaurant. We will see.
Dining at Fred and Steve’s is always a wonderful experience. From the food to the amazing service. Call out to our amazing server, Christina!
Have been to Fred and Steves many times. food is delicious and prices are reasonable for an up scale steak house. We will see you again.
Oysters and nachos tasted great. Prime rib was amazing!!! Melted in your mouth. Drinks were tasty. Definitely will be going back again and again
As usual Fred &Steve's lived up to expectations. Brian and the rest of the staff did a great job attending to our wishes. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Best PRIME RIB in town! Best PRIME RIB in town! Best PRIME RIB in town! Best PRIME RIB in town!
Disapointing experience for the price. Ordered Bombay martini and they used house gin. Ordered sirloin steak med well...was served ribeye med rare...took 10 more mins to bring the sirloin and it too was med rare...pricey and disappointing...
Food a la Carte...so sides are extra..but generous portions
