If you're looking for something more informal, step into The Hideout off of the Water Street entrance to watch TV and meet friends for happy hour. And don't forget to make your way upstairs to the Bourbon Lounge to relax in large leather sofas and enjoy food and beverages from the bar. If you're a history buff, visit the Bissell room where you can't miss the beautiful mural painting done in 1717, depicting downtown New York City.

Had a great time there! The food was amazing. I had the fish and chips but tried three other dishes. The macaroni cheese side is amazing!! The staff was awesome from greeting to goodbye!! Will definitely return!!

Everything at the restaurant was amazing except for the waiters. Maybe it's because we had a shift change, but we told our many waiters 4 times that one of our party needed a sprite before it arrived. All of our mixed drinks arrived long before his drink showed up.

Cozy, comfortable historic tavern with good pub food. The building is beautifully preserved. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check out the museum upstairs and the room where G. Washington said farewell to the army.

I love this restaurant and the history too. I love the fact that General George Washington eat at this restaurant. It’s such a beautiful building and I also love the museum. My boyfriend and I went this restaurant because we were attending the “Washington Farewell Address” in the Museum.

We were on a girls trip to see Hamilton and decided to eat here after the matinee due to its significance in history. The food was great and service was wonderful. The menu was varied but mostly comfort food with some upscale choices. We were pleased!!! I also left a bag there and didn't realize it for 3 hours or so. When I called, they had it and kept it for me until the next day. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

It is always a pleasure to introduce friends and family to Fraunces Tavern. Steeped in history. Part of the pleasure is also discovering all the different dinning rooms, each with its own character. Food and service are wonderful. It should be a must for anyone visiting the Financial District, or even coming off the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty ferries.

We celebrated my mom's becoming US citizen at Fraunces Tavern. The ambiance was outstanding. The service was great - fast and efficient while also very personable. The food was hearty, likely better for non-vegetarians. The selection is somewhat limited for vegetarians but the salad was very fresh. The special status of Fraunces Tavern however makes the food less important. The setting is definitely more interesting and just walking around the restaurant was fun! The waiter also gave us 4 passes to the museum, which was very nice of her. The museum is definitely worth visiting - it feels unreal to think that in the same building George Washington frequently dined and Alexander Hamilton had his office!

Fraunces Tavern is one of our go-to restaurants when we are downtown. Our business guests frequently return with their families because of the good food and the unique history. That has includes our friends from Canada.

Very good food in a quiet and inviting environment. The history of the location is what initially brought us to the establishment and the food and drink there made it even more memorable.

First time in NYC & had a family Thanksgiving meal here. Very well looked after. Reasonably priced and very tasty well presented 3 course set meal in a relaxed and atmospheric setting. A historical tucked away gem surrounded by skyscrapers just off Wall Street. Drinks prices not the cheapest with quite an expensive tab at the end though.

Fraunce’s Tavern is one of those old institutions that is conveniently located in lower Manhattan and is a wonderfully warme rustic experience. The museum portion was not open on this busy thanksgiving day. But was the perfect place to take family while visiting my old home town. Service was better than most restaurants even though they were probably going to do five or six seatings.. and although it was in the restaurant’s interest to get us through our meal for the next seating, in no way did we feel rushed.
Thank you Fraunce’s Tavern

We went for thanksgiving. The ambiance was nice and what we expected. All of us ordered traditional thanksgiving meal. It was mediocre. Two of us had to send it back because the turkey and potatoes were barely warm. The spiked apple cider was excellent and desserts were pretty good.

Historic building with colonial interior in the midst of modern Wall Street buildings. We entered after walking the windy streets. It was cozy, warm and welcoming with real candle lit lanterns glowing on the deep window sills, wide oak board floors and oak paneling surrounding the fireplaces and throughout the dining room. You could envision yourself back in the 1770's! Extensive lists of liquors and beers. Excellent salmon and roast chicken dishes with simple presentation. Friendly staff. Casual and relaxing.

I met some friends for lunch at Fraunces Tavern and was extremely happy with both the food and the service. I had the Bison burger and my friends had the rib-eye steak sandwich and the Cobb Salad. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and my friend declared the Cobb Salad the best she had ever had. Service was attentive and friendly and we were not rushed at all even though we stayed for quite a while. I will definitely visit there again.

Enjoyable meal with delicious chicken corn chowder for appetizer and pot pies for entree. We visit this restaurant each time we come to NYC. My mother in law uses a walker and the front steps were challenging for her.

Wonderful place for lunch. So very comfortable with authentically historical feel. The museum upstairs is also very interesting if you're at all interested in Revolutionary War period, and George Washington in particular.

Would definitely go again on next visit to NYC.

Went for the history. Pleasantly surprised by the food. Hearty portions, great value. Try the lamb stew or chicken pot pie. Every restaurant in Manhattan claims to have the best cheesecake. I would say the Bailey's cheesecake at Fraunces takes the prize.
