About Fraticelli's Italian Grill - Richmond Hill
Fraticelli's Italian Grill and Lounge is driven by one simple principle… create a great Italian impression. Or as the Italians often say… "fare una bella figura."
Like our 13 provinces and territories, Italy has 20 wonderful regions, each one more adamant than the other that they have the best food in the country. Our menu at Fraticelli's is to serve you the best of the best from these wonderful regions. Our steaks are cooked over a high heat wood-fire grill made famous in Tuscany. Our pastas are fresh and our sauces are homemade ranging from the classic northern dish Pappardelle Bolognese to the southern Sicilian style seafood pasta, Spaghetti Pescatore. The pizzas are served Napoletana; style, thin crust and stone baked at 750 degrees. All made with the freshest ingredients available, authenticated with imported Italian plum tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and the best grated cheeses.

Fraticelli's Italian Grill - Richmond Hill Ratings and Reviews
Service was excellent, both hostess and waiters were very kind, charismatic and very good on explaining the menu, suggesting orders, however the food wasn't the best. Pizza was delicious but the carbonara pasta wasn't good at all.
Would go back for the service and pizza only.
The waiter was a mature man named Brian -- a good start. He kept the usual franchise style discourse about being "our waiter", " taking care of us" and listing specials that aren't to a bare minimum. The food was less than cafeteria grade. In the fettuccine Alfredo, the linguine was unevenly cooked with some of it cooked to death and having the texture of cardboard not to mention clinging together in clumps because it was left without anyone stirring the pot for about 19 minutes. The salmon was poor. Neither myself nor my friend are everything. We had no coffee nor dessert but, rather, got the hell out, never to return. I gave Brian about a 15% tip, pre-tax, on his merits alone -- which I usually would not do.
The restaurant is nicely laid out with a bar and separate restaurant area. We arrived and waited about three to four minutes until someone came to greet us at the front. It was a Sunday evening so was slow evening for the restaurant. We had a nice booth. The food was good and the service was fine. Nothing negative. It's a nice neighbourhood type of Italian restaurant, not something I would drive quite a distance to travel to. Food is reasonably priced. I had the seafood pasta, was very nice.
We've been there for casual dining as a large group with 8 kids, we've been there for a special birthday celebration and we've been there "just because" and it was great food and excellent service, everytime! Loved the brussel sprouts appetizer when we were there in the Winter and can't wait for it to come back 😊
Celebrated a co-workers success at lunch. The service was great...fast delivery of our food. Generally the food was very good, I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and it was only mediocre. Would not order that again. The ambiance is wonderful and being only across the street we frequent Fraticelli's for our team celebrations.
I picked this restaurant for Father's Day and was really disappointed with the quality of the main dish. My risotto had so much salt which left me very thirsty for the rest of the day and I didn't even finish my food. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great, friendly service. We had some food allergies that were taken very seriously and the chef even asked the waitress to suggest a few options on tweaking the entire that was ordered. Great food. Yummy Summer Sangria . The patio is large and the seating is not overcrowded. Nice and private. We'll go back. There's more on the menu to sample!
I have been to this restaurant when it first opened and have had great food and service here. This time, they changed the menu and the service was sub par. I felt rushed during dinner and felt that the waitress didn't want to give me her time to listen to our requests.
The service was very good. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The ambiance was good and the decor was nice. A bit noisy but it was Mother's Day so not surprising. The food was disappointing. In particular, the spaghetti was overcooked and totally tasteless. It was obviously just boiled and not sauteed in garlic and oil/butter as one would expect. It was clearly made in a rushed and inattentive manner. Given that this is an Italian restaurant, the pasta was expected to be "al dente" and more care should have been taken to make all parts of the meal good, especially given the price. The salad was also drowning in olive oil with inattention to the mix of other ingredients in the dressing. It is unfortunate because the rest of the experience was good but, if the food is disappointing, I will not go back.
We were seated promptly, the waiter was very good. The food was the best part. I had the beef ribs and they were great. Earlier in the week I stopped in for a business lunch and had the pappardelle alla bolognese and it was great as well! I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food in a nice environment.
Our main dishes took awhile to arrive. They said there was an issue with one of the lines in the kitchen. Waited 20 min for our food meanwhile the table with us got their food within minutes. My 81yr old Dad was getting upset. Food finally arrived.
Grilled calamari - had this here before and it was always fresh. This time a little chewy. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were way over cooked and dry. My brother's chicken dish was dry. My parents both had the lamb special and it was great. We still managed to have a lot of fun.
We were not made aware there was a time limit on our table until 30 min in while waiting for 2 more of our friend. By the time we ordered and the food arrived there was only 30 min left to eat. Our waitress kept coming by to "check" on us but we felt rushed. She then brought us the bill and said just something for u to think about but if you want dessert let me know. Our waitress then came back and said she spoke to the manager and we dont have to rush anymore but this is after we already rushed to eat our dinner and you brought us the bill already! We didnt order any dessert and wanted to pay the bill, our waitress then said i thought u guys want some coffee/tea or dessert so i gave away my table so you guys can stay longer, but thats ok! (Clearly she wasnt) Well, can you blame us with that kind of service?!
Very attractive room with high ceilings, making for a quiet atmosphere. Upscale Italian cuisine. The food was very tasty though a number of the entrees at our table were too salty. The wait staff were very courteous and attentive. I especially appreciated our waiter's knowledge of all the ingredients of every item on the menu when I was checking vis a vis my food allergies.
After reading the reviews, I decided to head to this restaurant. It was a special occasion and thought it was a nearby and could meet our requirements. This is a true "family style" type restaurant and seems like a chain. Not exactly what I was looking for. We were seated next to a large group with kids that were play games on their screens, which was fairly loud with the music from the device. When we were seated I requested a different table an was told flat out NO. As a patron, I have never been told that, this was indicative of the evening.
Our server was good, the food was okay, it was not what I was expecting and when I told the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday, nothing was done. That was disappointing and the server was busy and not as attentive as I would have liked.
We were put in a booth which for someone who is large was too small as well, I found that our seating was uncomfortable and the fact they wouldn't accommodate me was truly annoying.
Overall, I think if you have a large family, and you are with a group, it may be okay. I have no desire to return. Nothing about our experience was truly exceptional nor unique. This is your typical chain style restaurant and I found the reviews disappointing as it influenced my decision to celebrate here.
Overall this is alright but nothing outstanding.
