We are on a quest to find the best homemade pasta in Houston, & continue to return to Fratelli’s! The squid ink pasta is as good as we have had in Italy. The cannelloni is also equally delicious. Service is prompt, friendly, professional, & we were even given the story of Fratelli’s winning Chef Mark at the helm. We appreciated a good bottle of wine at a fair price. Thank you Matthew, Mario, & Rick for great attention to detail & a truly outstanding meal.
We love Fratelli’s and during the week it is quieter. Chef Mark is doing a wonderful job!

I had high expectations for this restaurant given Mark has associated his name with it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. To start on a positive note I liked the murals and overall ambiance of the place. Now to the food. Calamari appetizer was very mediocre. House salad was good. Pasta carbonara was just ok. Pasta was too large in diameter and tough. My daughter had the lasagna which was very good. Wife had soft shell crab. Too much breading. Sauce was very good. Service started out very good and along the way they switched waiters without telling me. Also need to tell price of specials so no surprise at the end.
Overall the value/quality for money is very low in my opinion. Many Italian restaurants in Houston that are far superior.

We were excited to see Mark Cox join Fratelli's. He has also brought some of his staff, so long time Houston dinners will see some familiar faces. However, they sat us next to the party room, which hosted two families with about six screaming teenagers. Needless to say, our delicious meal was diminished that inconsiderate group. One of the Mom's in the party did not want to shut the doors of the party room. This place has the potential for fine dining, but it needs some fine tuning.
Initially they sat us at an awful 2 top table next to a little serving area where the waiters are congregating. No one should ever have to sit there, get rid of the table.They were nice and moved us to another not so great but better than the last table. We could hear the manager or owner having a phone conversation in the office behind. Thankfully that call ended. Waiter was fine a little pushy with trying to get us to order most expensive items and a bottle of wine. My chicken piccata was over cooked. Loved the Sinatra singer though. Won’t be back not enough value for the $100 we spent .

Excellent soft shell crabs & short ribs. Enjoy Fratelli’s osso bucco when it’s their special. Mustarda sauce is delicious.

Beautiful decor and warmth in a sleepy neighborhood. With the addition of Chef Mark Cox, this place is on it's way up as a destination spot. We enjoyed the special, Rosso buck, fork-tender and savory. This was after starting with CRISPY calamari and shrimp with the typical sauce complemented with an olive tapenade in oil. Very nice. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes and reasonably priced wine list.
This great restaurant is in our neighborhood and has continued to improve its great food and service. We are big fans!

Mark Cox’s Italian venture in Spring Branch is already our new favorite neighborhood restaurant. An old fashion Italian feel with incredible food and great service. I got a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen and sommelier Rick Jamail and i reminisced about the murals that are still on the walls since Luke and Marilyn DeCours fabulous French bakery and cafe with some changes. It’s great to see my aunt Ninfa Laurenzo was memorialized.

Fratelli's Restaurant is lovely! The menu is wonderfully varied and everything was tasty! My husband adored the cioppino and my crab cake was to die for. The service was impeccable, our server was extremely attentive and the restaurant was packed at the time! The bar had a lot of action too--live music playing, which was an unexpected treat! We will go back again (and again)!
Pedro (from Mark’s) is a very good, attentive server. The redfish with lump crab meat is phenomenal as is the warm chocolate dessert with a coconut crunchy praline over the little cake served with vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend the beet salad. Always loved Chef Mark’s cuisine and so glad he is back on the scene !
The food and service are exceptional. So are th crab cakes! I had grilled shrimp and my man had veal marsala (probably the best I have ever had). Both dishes were clean. Fantastic food!!!
Me and my group were huge Mark’s fans and were sad when he closed down. Finding him at Fratelli’s was great! I will admit, when I saw the menu online, I wasn’t impressed. Seemed like your typical Italian run of the mill options. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!! Not only are the “typical” items available, but in usual Mark fashion, the food was incredible!! Everything we ordered was not on the menu. I suggest to everyone, be adventurous! Let your waiter surprise you and let him order for you. You won’t be disappointed!
Chef Mark Cox always delights with his culinary expertise. We hope he brings some of the specialties he’s known for back on to the menu. Would love to have some of his onion bread and taste of crab again!

We really enjoyed our Valentine's Day special dinner at Fratelli's. We had a standing reservation at Mark's for many years on Valentine's day so we were very happy when we found out that he is at Fratelli's now. The restaurant was lovely , the staff very warm and friendly and the food delicious. We were very happy with our visit.
I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant. The hostess was very welcoming. I had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday to her & the waiter. They didn’t acknowledge the birthday with cake & a candle like they did at the next table. I had ordered the specialty salad which had apples,oranges & mixed greens which was excellent. My entree was eggplant parmigiana which was average. The other guests said their entrees were fair. The desserts were delicious!!! Would not rush back
Service was slow at the beginning but then was ok after we ordered. We poured our own wine several times during dinner. Food was very good and we had fun catching up with old friends.
The server messed up EVERY aspect of our meal, management could not have cared less. We were charged for things we did not order, and never got things we did order. The owner was FLAT OUT AWFUL to our faces. So sad, because the food is wonderful!
First time dining there. The food and service were outstanding! We will be returning!
