The food is always very consistent and very good. Service is always very friendly great waitstaff.
This is very authentic even the staff spoke fluent Italian. The food was fresh and very tasty. We went on the recommendation of Scott Conant noted chef in South Beach. He said that their calzones were top notch on "The Best Things I Ever Ate". This is must try.
The food was incredible, we ordered the Grande La Bufalata, it was so fresh and delicious. We ordered two pizzas after that and again so good. They were even great the next day for breakfast! Would definitely recommend!
My experience at Fratelli la Bufala was certainly memorable, but not really for the reasons you'd WANT a restaurant to be memorable. It received decent reviews, so I opted to give it a shot.
The atmosphere was not what I expected – very kitschy and very cramped, not in a quaint European way, but in a "let's cram in as many people as we can" way. This also made it incredibly noisy, so much so that my dinner companion and I had to shout across the table to hear each other.
The waitstaff were attentive enough, but were less than impressive. They present as overblown caricatures of Italians, complete with accent, which would be charming if it weren't so exaggerated. (I kept having flashbacks to the old Alka Seltzer commercial: "Mama Mia, that's a spicy meat-a-ball-ah.") The servers may, in fact, be Italian, but they seemed to be more intent on putting on an Italian-themed spectacle than providing quality service – it felt more like cheap theater than a restaurant, which would be fine if it didn't feel so disingenuous. It was like visiting a Chuck E. Cheese, but with creepier characters.
Then the bill came. While the prices looked reasonable on the menu, there was an $18 service charge slapped onto the tab, which seemed gratuitous for a party of 2. Based on other reviews, this is apparently common practice for the chain, but it brought the price from reasonable to outrageous. Neither the food nor the experience were nearly good enough to warrant the price paid.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience. But to be fair, while the atmosphere was loud, cramped, and uncomfortable and the service was intrusive and annoying, the food was actually pretty good – not entirely authentic, but a step up from Olive Garden.
Bottom Line: I will personally avoid Fratelli la Bufala in the future, but this truly is the perfect spot for couples with obnoxious, uncontrollable children and a great place to take relatives you hate!
Delicious food great service and a fun crowd. Going back on sunday for dinner
The food is always superb and the service is outstanding. Looking forward to the next visit.
My boyfriend and I sat outside. It was a beautiful Miami evening. After checking in on the Yelp app we both received a complimentary glass of prosecco. My boyfriend had the Monachina pizza and I had the Bucatini alla Carbonara. They were both very delicious! I would definitely go back to try their other pizzas. Service and staff were excellent.
Our server Antonio was excellent. His friendly and attentive service made our dinner very enjoyable. We will definitely ask for Antonio the next time we dine.
Excellent food and great service - will be returning for sure!!
My husband planned a birthday trip for the weekend in Miami. I was watching the food channel and saw an episode for food in Miami, this was one restaurant that I had to try!!! Amazing!!! So glad I did!’ The place is very authentic Italian from the men to the food!!! Imported mozzarella, fired pizza, cappuccino...,, mmmmm!!! Will be back!!!
Very nice waitress, I have had her before. Food took a very long time to come out. First entree was wrong but she corrected it right away. After initial order and when the bill arrived is the only time the waitress came to check in on us.
Absolutely the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. The only thing that tastes good was the bread that I dipped in olive oil. Disgusting Presentation and disgusting taste. Will never return.
incredible burrata. sizes more than considerable. Neapolitan authentic pizza. attention ok, I would go back many times more.
Delicious, tastes just like the pizza I had in Italy! This place is a gem!
The manager is always cordial and friendly. The pizza is the best in South Beach. Our server Pasquale was the greatest! Highly recommend this restaurant.
This is a great Italian restaurant in Miami Beach. However it's so loud that you can barely hear your own conversation. The restaurant is very small and they pack everyone inside. We were next to a family who's child was crying through out dinner. It wasn't exactly an ideal place to have a decent conversation. I also felt rushed to eat from the server. She asked us 2x if we were done with our meal when clearly I was still eating. The food was great. I loved the pizza! Maybe next time I'll get something to go but I don't think I'll be returning to dine in.
Delicious food and terrific service. The Pacchieri pasta is an absolute must-have!
Felt rushed by wait staff. Did t ask if done with bread when still drinking wine. They wanted our table for the next person. Appetizers drinks and pizzas we were out the door in 55 minutes. Not going back
The food here is out of this world. I have eaten pizza all over the world and this is by far the best I have ever enjoyed. I chose the White pizza with black truffle sauce, extra cheese, extra truffle sauce, my husband chose the fruit de mare pizza with equally good result.
If you have never enjoyed a truly italian pizza , here is your chance.
the prosciutto ham was very good! But the main course was terrible, I don’t understand how an italian restaurant can do such a terrible carbonara! The people at the restaurant we’re very nice but i dont think i will be back.
Real Italian pizza! Love it
Birthday dinner for my sister who was visiting.
Veloci, simpatici e con piatti ottimi. Avanti Napoli🔝
I had made a reservation and had to wait 40 minutes for the table. Somehow disappointing as that never happened before.
Buen restaurante. La pasta es la típica Italiana. Muy buena. Lo recomiendo
I loved!!! The italian people are so friendly! I will be back!
The best autentic neapolitan pizza with good products like real mozzarella and red tomatos.
Food was delicious and staff was friendly and hospitable. Would definitely go back!
Restaurant très fréquenté du matin au soir .... promesse d’un bon repas? Pour moi ça n’a pas vraiment été le cas, déçu de la cuisine et du service.
Everyrhing was delicious. The ingredients all fresh and savory.
Great place for any ocassion
Nice small restaurant serving authentic Italian. The food was outstanding and so was the service.
This is a great restaurant. My husband and I eat here each time we are in Miami and that is practically every 2 months. The only thing is that I always book with Open Table and they NEVER give me my points. They always have an excuse. Either they forgot to check me in when I arrived or their computer did not work. There is always something. If they do not want to honour the points they should just not register with Open Table.
Food was so authentic. Best fried mozzarella cheese I’ve ever had. Everything was good. Will definitely eat there again
Really good pizza.... Dough is amazing! Sitting outside can be noisy with all the traffic. Prices are high for appetizers. Their bufala mozzarella is really good and creamy.
Fantastic place, you will not be disappointed!
Absolutely fantastic service and food! Authentic Italian pizza!
Food was amazing !! It's like eating in southern Italie, the service is so fast it's unbelievable . We drove one hour from Fort Lauderdale to Miami just to enjoy this wonderful Italian restaurant. Really worth the drive!!
Very Good food, but you charge 38 dollars for ONE mozzarella and I think is too much!!!
Dinner for 5. Table was a bit cramped for 5. The service was perfect and the food was authentic Italian and Excellent. Will be back.
