Overall the dinner was good as usual. Unfortunately this time the steak was pan fried and a little tough with gristle
Good was great
Had another fabulous meal! Always great food and love to support local!
They were understaffed, which they made clear from the beginning. I appreciated them making that clear, but I still found the device to be more than acceptable and very friendly. The food was quite good, as well.
Service was very slow on the day we went. We will go again as this was not typical of previous experiences.
Service was slow. Food took too long. We were a 6 top but was still longer then it should be.
Fortunately, the food is very good. Will try again
Great food! Cute atmosphere!
Delicious lunch. Thank you so much for allowing us your private room for our meeting. We will definitely be back.
I was very happy with the food and service. I will definitely go back.
We went to Fran’s about a year ago and absolutely loved it. That was not the case this time. Their menu has changed and is overpriced for what you get. I am not opposed to paying $20-30 for an entree at a nice restaurant but these entrees were not “fine dining” and there isn’t a single entree for less than $18. It appears their “new menu” means increased prices. And mediocre food.
Also it was very obvious upon our arrival that here was some drama between the wait staff. Lots of eye rolling and head shaking when 3 different servers greeted our table thinking they were the first.
We ordered the “Cuban sandwich bites” as an appetizer. For $10 you’ll get a dry Cuban sandwich cut into 4’s. The meatballs and pasta were good. But nothing special for $18.
We won’t be going back.
This was our first visit and we will not be back! Service was terrible! We waited 10 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted drinks. Waitress could not explain menu items we asked about and was slow all evening. Husband got a plain cheeseburger for $18. Everything was overpriced and mediocre. To top it all off, I got an email from Open Table the following day stating the restaurant cancelled our reservation so we got no dining points. We were there in time and checked in. I clearly saw our name on the hostess screen. This place won't last long!
Our group decided we loved so many items on the menu we would order a variety of appetizers and entrees and share. Everything was delicious! It was such a fun way to sample the various offerings Fran's provided.
Fran's Filling Station is wonderful! The menu is balanced to the point it is hard to make a decision. Tonight we shared a small chop chop salad, which is one of the best salads I have had in quite some time. The brussel sprouts should have been my meal because the portion was very large and they were decadent! The cornbread waffles were light and delicious with the red pepper jelly. For my entree I enjoyed the best meatballs EVER served over braised greens. Heaven. I barely ate 1/4 of one because of the apps I shared beforehand, but I know they will be just as wonderful reheated. Our server was a ball of energy, friendly, warm, and a great resource for selections. Fran even stopped by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Altogether, this was a homerun evening. Fran's FS is officially our Dilworth favorite.
Fran's Filling Station is consistently great. It is one of our favorite spots.
The food was amazing and our server was outgoing, friendly and attentive. The 3 cheese artichoke dip is and absolute must!! Will definitely be back!!!
My favorite was the fig and goat cheese flatbread, we also tried the meatballs and they were to die for. Todd was our excellent waiter!
I was surprised when I smiled and mentioned to the owner that we were new customers that she didn’t take a moment to greet us. She said something like, “oh good,” and walked away.
Food is overpriced.
I recommend the Brussel sprouts. I DON’T recommend the fig flatbread. Messy. Had to eat. Too much fig. Too much everything. Almost like a greasy dessert.
Won’t go back.
And not worth sitting on the patio. View of a parking lot.
Great! Food is always fresh and innovative! Frans is delicious.
The food was out of this world! My husband and I were visiting from out of town and looking for something different from the usual southern food we’d been eating while on vacation. Fran’s did not disappoint. The food and service were both wonderful; hopefully someday we’ll be back!
Through someone's mistake, OpenTable was accepting all reservations, so the host had to scramble to seat us when we showed up to their tiny space with 6 people. Staff (servers and kitchen) were also overwhelmed by the sudden rush. The food was great when it eventually arrived, and everyone had a great time.
Service was sub-par.
Amazed by the great food. Every dish was and adventure in taste
I have always loved Fran’s so I’m hoping it was just an off night, but it has been a year since I’ve been. The food was just ok and it seems the menu has changed some since I was last there. The specials are typically amazing and the reason I got, but none jumped out at me. One person did get the special and it’s not something I would try again.
Food was excellent. Wifey had the lamb burger and I had the meatballs. Went with two apps, which were both excellent, the shrimp and the tots duo. Service was excellent. Todd, I think his name was, was very energetic and caring.
Casual, fun dinner with friends. Food was outstanding!
Fran and her team deliver every time at this, our neighborhood gem. Great food, fantastic service and a real commitment to quality and character. Easy access for those with limited mobility. Loved Fran's Roasted Chicken with root vegetables: comfort food on the healthy side in a v generous portion.
Feels like your little neighborhood bistro where you are welcome and known.
Always delicious and fresh. Fran’s hands on attention to detail is always apparent.
Great little spot for really good, creative, from scratch meals. Service was attentive, friendly and full of good recommendations. This place simply has a good vibe. Not the place to go for trendy cocktails or a fancy bar scene, but a great place to go if you are looking for great food at a reasonable price in a simple setting.
We had our daughter in town for the weekend and this was a great place to have a meal outside of downtown. The service was efficient and the food is very good.
Food was excellent, from the scallops, salmon and mussels to the fried chicken sandwich!
Loved the food and ambiance. Service was a bit slow and inconsistent.
Great place to go for the food and comfort. will become a regular.
This was the first time my wife and I eat at Fran's Filling Station. The whole experience was excellent and one of the better experiences we have had while living the last year in Charlotte. The Food and Ambiance were excellent, and the Service was good. We will definitely be coming back again.
Some of the best food we have had in a while coupled with great service. We had a wonderful time. Next time we will ask to sit in the back because we disnt know it was that large and we sat right by the door which was a little chilly. We will definitely go back!
First time visited Fran’s Filling Station and had a great experience both food and service. Look forward in coming back again!
Absolutely some of the best tasting food in Charlotte!
Fabulous food and service! We have never been disappointed.
Nothing special about the food, and we waited an exceptionally long time for the appetizer to arrive. It was tasty, but the "special" of braised beef and mac & cheese was awful. Our waitress seemed competent, but the kitchen was slow. This was a birthday dinner. A real disappointment.
