This was the first time my wife and I eat at Fran's Filling Station. The whole experience was excellent and one of the better experiences we have had while living the last year in Charlotte. The Food and Ambiance were excellent, and the Service was good. We will definitely be coming back again.
Some of the best food we have had in a while coupled with great service. We had a wonderful time. Next time we will ask to sit in the back because we disnt know it was that large and we sat right by the door which was a little chilly. We will definitely go back!
First time visited Fran’s Filling Station and had a great experience both food and service. Look forward in coming back again!
Absolutely some of the best tasting food in Charlotte!
Fabulous food and service! We have never been disappointed.
Nothing special about the food, and we waited an exceptionally long time for the appetizer to arrive. It was tasty, but the "special" of braised beef and mac & cheese was awful. Our waitress seemed competent, but the kitchen was slow. This was a birthday dinner. A real disappointment.
Really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. We started with parmesan garlic frites and they were very good. I had the beef tenderloin skewers with mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. My wife had the garlic shrimp and the small Big salad. Our daughter had the California burger. All three meals were very, very good. Our server was new and made a couple of mistakes but he will get those corrected I am sure. We just moved close by so it will not e long before we return.
First time diners for Restaurant Week 2018. Although the food was great and our waitress Jamie was outstanding, the large party that sat behind us were super loud and drunk which put a damper on our experience. Its funny how not one person said anything to them (manager, server, not a soul). F bombs for days! The entire front half of the restaurant just looked on as these guys (and ladies) drank and cursed like they owned the place. Its such a small setting that we all should've turned around and joined them, community style. I would recommend this restaurant for dinner and looking forward to trying out the brunch.
Everything was great thank you we will recommend to local friends
We went for restaurant week and really enjoyed our meal. The bacon wrapped tater tots were our favorite menu item.
We visited for Queens Feast restaurant week. The food itself was very good. No complaints about it at all. However we were seated at an odd table in the corner that was too long for 2 people (we couldn’t converse easily - we were too far from each other ). Our waiter was not particularly attentive or personable. Honestly if the server had been better, it would have made up for the odd seating arrangement. But sadly, the food was really the only good thing about our visit to Fran’s
It was crazy busy due to restaurant week. Fran was present checking in on guests. Very personal, nice touch. Food was great and fair price.
Had a great meal, with a variety of options to choose from that aren’t everywhere else. The atmosphere was perfect for catching up. The cocktails weren’t great but definitely did the trick. I’d go back.
Attended restaurant week - first time there. Overall had a great time - food delivery took time for our entrees but the team took care a round of drinks - thank you - food was hot - my husband and I would defiantly come back again. Thank you for your hospitality
Fig and Brie flatbread was EXCELLENT! Chocolate was ver good.
For innovative and the freshest of ingredients this is your spot. It is always my first choice restaurant to meet for lunch. My husband and I love it for an early dinner with or without friends. Fran is so very creative and her menu reflects our love of great, simple food and a mighty fine Cosmo!
Our waiter was a not very welcoming (as I noticed other waiters/waitress’s way more accommodating) food was great.next time would definitely try more appetizers they were above amazing.
I was there with a small group for a birthday, during Restaurant Week and experienced good food, excellent cocktails, great service, and a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. I only give it a four because the food was good, and very creative, but not wonderful.
Food was average. Chocolate cake tasted like a Walmart birthday cake.
We went to Fran’s Filling Station for Restaurant Week and had great food and service! We’ll definitely be back. The only thing I would have changed is the timing of the courses- we received our entrees while still working on appetizers.
We got there when they opened so it was pretty quite while we dined. It started to get really busy as we left so I'm sure it was a bit more noisy after that. The food was great! I had the crab cakes for dinner and they were wonderful. Actually made with crab and not just filler. I was pretty full after eating just the two.
One of Charlotte’s best neighborhood restaurants! Food is always delicious and the service outstanding! Comfort food taken to next level! A local gem!!
First night of Queen's feast. Moderately overbooked. The food was very good and a great value. Staff were very professional and handled things very well, despite the crowd and pace that they had to move. My only issue was that the person seating folks did not have a handle on her job and seated parties out of order while spending more time talking to friends than to the people she was seating. After multiple interventions from the staff and complaints from patrons, the throng at the door finally began to clear and the empty tables were filled. Please fix this. It casts shadows on a great place.
Met friends and visited on their recommendation and we were not disappointed. Wonderfully attentive and personable service, wonderful flavors with a nice selection of deliciousness. Local brews and nice wine list. Overall it was an enjoyable evening from start to finish.
My husband, son and I came here for dinner. Everything we ordered was super delicious. I ordered Fran's Meatballs and they were truly delicious and I would order them again. My son ordered the Italian flatbread and it was also a hit. It was an extremely large size for one person and he couldn't finish it. We will definitely come back here in the future.
Our dinner for three was great. We ordered small tapas to share and was not disappointed in any of them. Bacon wrapped tater tots, mussels, frites, calamari, and fig and goat cheese flatbread. All tasty and served at the right temperature. The calamari was served crispy on top of marinara. I like this since I love plenty of marinara and you couple scoop out the sauce with the food. The frites were garlic and parmesan. Nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The bacon wrapped tater tots had a slight spicy kick to them, yum. And the flatbread was a nice flavor with the fig jam on the bottom topped with the melted cheese.. These 5 apps and a bottle of wine ($35) were ~$75, a very reasonable price. The waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. And they served a free piece of cake for our birthday companion. We went on a Monday night, here were a few other tables filled with guests, but not a busy night. It was a great experience and I will definitely go again.
My food was luke warm and when i mentioned it, all i got was an apology and not an offer to correct it. Also ‘Fran’ went to every table to ask how everything was and skipped our table. I’m guessing it was due to the demographics. Also it took at least 45 mins to get our main course from when our appetizer plates were removed. We kept getting ‘ its coming shortly’ and when we got there, it was maybe 30% full. And to top it all off, the bread pudding we got to go was charred on the top and then really soggy on the bottom. Overall, for my moms first visit there, she was not impressed.
The food was ok. Service horrible. The wait staff looked totally confused and they were so slow!!
Julie was a most unprofessional server. As I was going to bathroom, I heard her talking about my husband and me in such an ugly manner. We will never go back, if that’s the way they treat their customers for telling them that their food was cold. Their lead server was equally as appalling. It’s very open so quite noisy with little ambiance. I would not give a recommendation for this restaurant.
