Food was average. Chocolate cake tasted like a Walmart birthday cake.
We went to Fran’s Filling Station for Restaurant Week and had great food and service! We’ll definitely be back. The only thing I would have changed is the timing of the courses- we received our entrees while still working on appetizers.
We got there when they opened so it was pretty quite while we dined. It started to get really busy as we left so I'm sure it was a bit more noisy after that. The food was great! I had the crab cakes for dinner and they were wonderful. Actually made with crab and not just filler. I was pretty full after eating just the two.
One of Charlotte’s best neighborhood restaurants! Food is always delicious and the service outstanding! Comfort food taken to next level! A local gem!!
First night of Queen's feast. Moderately overbooked. The food was very good and a great value. Staff were very professional and handled things very well, despite the crowd and pace that they had to move. My only issue was that the person seating folks did not have a handle on her job and seated parties out of order while spending more time talking to friends than to the people she was seating. After multiple interventions from the staff and complaints from patrons, the throng at the door finally began to clear and the empty tables were filled. Please fix this. It casts shadows on a great place.
Met friends and visited on their recommendation and we were not disappointed. Wonderfully attentive and personable service, wonderful flavors with a nice selection of deliciousness. Local brews and nice wine list. Overall it was an enjoyable evening from start to finish.
Our dinner for three was great. We ordered small tapas to share and was not disappointed in any of them. Bacon wrapped tater tots, mussels, frites, calamari, and fig and goat cheese flatbread. All tasty and served at the right temperature. The calamari was served crispy on top of marinara. I like this since I love plenty of marinara and you couple scoop out the sauce with the food. The frites were garlic and parmesan. Nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The bacon wrapped tater tots had a slight spicy kick to them, yum. And the flatbread was a nice flavor with the fig jam on the bottom topped with the melted cheese.. These 5 apps and a bottle of wine ($35) were ~$75, a very reasonable price. The waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. And they served a free piece of cake for our birthday companion. We went on a Monday night, here were a few other tables filled with guests, but not a busy night. It was a great experience and I will definitely go again.
My food was luke warm and when i mentioned it, all i got was an apology and not an offer to correct it. Also ‘Fran’ went to every table to ask how everything was and skipped our table. I’m guessing it was due to the demographics. Also it took at least 45 mins to get our main course from when our appetizer plates were removed. We kept getting ‘ its coming shortly’ and when we got there, it was maybe 30% full. And to top it all off, the bread pudding we got to go was charred on the top and then really soggy on the bottom. Overall, for my moms first visit there, she was not impressed.
The food was ok. Service horrible. The wait staff looked totally confused and they were so slow!!
Julie was a most unprofessional server. As I was going to bathroom, I heard her talking about my husband and me in such an ugly manner. We will never go back, if that’s the way they treat their customers for telling them that their food was cold. Their lead server was equally as appalling. It’s very open so quite noisy with little ambiance. I would not give a recommendation for this restaurant.
