The problem is how slow the. Service.
Is. We were there an hour and had only just received our appetizers. There was one table of two when we arrived. When they left it was just our table of four. Can’t imagine what it would be like if full.
Also no one is masked during this Covid situation. The servers not the kitchen staff or customers coming and going.
Overall apps of ceased salad and baked clams were very good. Shrimp cocktail was good. Skirt steak and salmon were delicious. Bread however served at beginning of meal was very disappointing.
Even though we had early dinner reservations, 5:45 pm, and the restaurant was not crowded, we had to wait a long time for our food. When it finally arrived, it was good. What was not good was that not one server was wearing a mask. Don’t know if I will return because of that.
Another excellent visit to Frank’s for my 7 year old son’s birthday. If they have the 16oz on the bone filet, I highly recommend it.
Excellent food and service.
Was accommodated with Gluten Free needs with no hassles.
Large party in main dining room were raucous and disruptive. It should not be on Saturday night. Might work on a slow night. Totally ruined the evening. The food is excellent but I will not return.
As always dinner was great. Food was great, service was friendly and great, we weren't rushed. We were a group of 8, 6 adults, 2 children and an infant. Sat in a nice cozy corner spot which was perfect especially with an infant.
We are never disappointed at Franks
Was there to celebrate a birthday. Our Server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We went on the early side for dinner as I don’t like being packed into a restaurant quite yet. The restaurant was clean and not too noisy. Overall a very good experience!
The waiter was pleasant although he included the tip in the bill. That was odd, We were just 2 people. The food was mediocre. The restaurant is dated and very dusty. There were holes in the chairs. I would not recommend.
We ordered filet mignon platter and we all got a different size and we couldn’t cut it with the steak knife. The home fries were burnt. But the oysters and the burrata salad was delicious. As we’re the 2 sides that accompanied the platter.
Not very impressed with this steak house. Service was slow, although the waiter was nice. Romanian steak tasted a bit stale. Onions were tough. Not worth the price we paid. I’ve had better Romanian steak at a diner. Very disappointed.
Had a lovely Sunday brunch to celebrate various birthdays in the family. Sat outside which was lovely but the traffic noise was at times unbearable. Chris was our waiter and very personable. Service was very slow though~got the idea they were working with a skeleton crew. Food was good.
Good food…service and atmosphere !!!!!
Excellent food. Large portions. Great service. Welcoming and relaxed.
Great food and great service. Their signature disch, Roumanian steak, is fabulous. I highly recommend this steak house
Amazing restaurant! Delicious food and great service. Would come again.
Great place to eat! Love the atmosphere, the staff is very friendly.
Dinner at Frank’s was not the usual delight I’d always expected lo these many years dining with family and friends. The service from Sergio was excellent. We were warmly greeted at the door by the hostess and seated in a clean area to enjoy a meal without having to shout over each other. The burrata salad appetizer was delicious and the perfect portion. Our entrees were just not that good. Seems that over-salting my filet mignon was the chef’s solution to making an otherwise bland piece of meat more palatable. My friend’s baby back ribs were so incredibly dried out we wondered if they were in fact beef jerky. Dumping a ton of store bought bbq sauce just made it more messy and frustrating. Unfinished, we didn’t even want to take the leftovers home when offered. The Bernaise sauce was too salty to even touch, though when I tasted it, it had some mysterious flavor not at all consistent with Bernaise. The manager graciously took that entree of our bill as a gesture of good business. We skipped dessert as nothing on the menu really leapt out at us.
Service very slow. Steak not cooked as specified. Overpriced.
I’d been wanting to go to Frank’s since we moved to RVC about 11 months ago. I love a good steakhouse and have been to several of the classics in the city. This experience was just ok.
The restaurant was hot and very loud. Lots of people out celebrating birthdays and big events and it was hard to hear each other at times.
We ordered the bacon appetizer which was good but no better than any other standard bacon app. I also had oysters on the half shell which were good but not at all detached from their shells, so that was disappointing.
For our mains, my wife had the petite filet and lobster tail while I had the strip, both medium rare. Mine was perfect but hers was medium, so we sent it back. The second attempt was better, maybe a tad under. We also shared the cream spinach which needed salt but otherwise was tasty and a good sized portion. The steaks and lobster were good steakhouse quality and what we had hoped for.
To drink, we each had a glass of Prosecco followed by a glass of Malbec. Both were fine.
Our server seemed like a nice gentleman and had a great smile but was very busy covering all his tables, so service was a little lacking.
Overall a nice experience, but we likely won’t return. There are better places to spend that kind of money.
We celebrated my fathers birthday at Frank’s steakhouse. The entire family was very pleased with the food. Would we go back ? Absolutely!
The food was excellent (Onion Soup, Skirt Steak, and a Filet Mignon) but the restaurant had run out of a number of menu items by a 5:45 PM seating on a Thursday.
Perhaps the number of diners exceed their expectations as we ease back into a more normal experience.
Always great service excellent food best skirt steak on earth !!! Love it
Very friendly staff, quiet atmosphere and good food.
Best skirt steak on Long Island
A Nice place for Sunday brunch, in a club room setting.
Everything went perfect from sitting at reservation time to having a great knowledgeable waiter to perfectly cooked food excellent job today
My husband and I have been going to Frank’s RVC for ~20 years. Has always been a favorite of ours for special occasions and this most recent experience was another great one. Was a few years since our last visit so wasn’t sure if they’d fallen off at all but that was not at all the case. Some tasteful interior updates were nice to see, while maintaining the old world charm of the dark wood finishings. Still amazing service and thrilled we got to enjoy some of our classic favorites with our teenage sons (excellent white wine mussels app, perfectly cooked porterhouse for 2, fall off the bone BBQ ribs, delicious twin lobster tails, and all our fave sides
to match…garlic mash, giant and crispy steak fries, yum potato puffs, and garlic roasted broccoli with a perfect char….soooo delicious!). To top that all off, we shared the homemade cheesecake with raspberry sauce…amazing!! Kid’s loved it as much as we do. Shoutout to our waiter, Marcel, for his exceptional service and the free European geography lesson! Can’t wait for our next trip back.
As always, everything was great. Service, food, etc.
This was our first visit to Frank's Steaks...and based on OpenTable reviews had high hopes this would be a "neighborhood gem". Unfortunately, I have to say it was just a fair experience. The waitstaff and sommelier were very helpful. I started with a Caesar salad (just OK) and then a NY strip steak (very good); my wife had the chicken teriyaki - which had a rubbery and overcooked texture and an "institutional teriyaki "glaze". The waiter was very apologetic and brought another piece of chicken that was better, but it still was not of the quality one would expect at the prices being charged. The deep dish cheesecake was very good - sadly, however, the whipped cream from a can "cheapened" the dessert a bit. As it was my birthday they provided the dessert on a complimentary basis which I very much appreciated. Even with the courtesy extended to us, when one looks at the price paid vs. the quality it received, it really did not meet expectation.
Food was great
Dinner was delightful - portions were larger than expected.
They wouldn’t accept my open table $25 gift card. Said it expires 6/22. What do I do with it now ? Can you reinstate my 5000 points and cancel it ?

This is the card number / info. Server said he never saw this before
Our waiter Chris made us feel at home. Service was excellent, food excellent. I have and will continue to recommend them to my friends.
As always the food is very good! This time there was a couple with a noisy child who they had no control over but they left mid way through our dinner so that was excellent!
Great staff and food was excellent. Definitely going back
In general, very good. Filet could have been more tender.
Waitress took our order.
Waiter delivered our meal at table
Waitress disappeared for the entire main course
She was nowhere to be found.
We wanted salt, pepper, butter, steak sauce - there was no one to request it from.
We wanted refilled drinks - there was no one to request them from.
She showed up as I ate my last bite of my steak and asked "how's everything" I gave up
