We went for Valentine’s Day and had the February special. We both had shrimp cocktail and thought it was among the best we’ve had. The Roumanian skirt steak never disappoints. It’s one of our favorite meals and we had enough leftover for dinner the next night. Sides were good and plentiful although I wish Frank’s potatoes were available as a choice on the special menu. We shared a brownie sundae which was yummy and perfect.
Had 7;45 PM reservation, told it would be a 'few' minutes wait, said we would wait at bar, 35 minutes later still no table, without saying anything ordered at bar, no one ever come over to say a table was available, salads fair in quality, Filet Mignon was very good as was the broccoli, baked potatoes was average, 35 - 40 minute wait between finishing salad and main course, complained to bartender, who earlier, while in the middle of placing our order walked away to serve someone else, forgot bread x 2, third time was a charm , when we complained, threw check down and never said thank you or please come back or I am sorry. Nor did front desk when we complained.
Maybe a bad night, but good places should not have bad nights but if they do, know how to apologize. Franks staff does not

Arrived at 7:30 for which we has a reservation. We did not get seated until 10 minutes later. Not so bad. However, we ordered food around 7:45 and received drinks, and salads promptly - unfortunately we did not get our main courses until 9:05. We waited much longer than we should have. The skirt steaks were very good as usual. We are hoping that it was just an off night. Will most likely return again sometime.
My husband and I went to Frank's for his birthday. It's our favorite restaurant. The food is always great, and the service is always good.
Graduation. Fantastic dinner each time we eat at Franks!
Let's start with the good-
Eileen was our server and she was wonderful as usual. We've had her in the past and she's always friendly and attentive. The steaks were perfect! We started with the Cajun Calamari which was also very good although the rings were much bigger than in the past.
The not so good-
Creamed spinach was undercooked and tasteless. This is a staple item for us, so this was disappointing. I was not about to send it back because the place was so busy.
Host staff is completely clueless. Had to check in twice because the young lady at the desk forgot about us. When she tells the young man to seat us, he takes another couple that had just walked in. I was sitting at the bar for 30 minutes waiting for a table and she was made well aware of that. The host staff has always been an issue - and yes, we had a reservation.
Great spot. Good food and service. We went on a weeknight so it was less noisy than the weekend. We were a group of 4 and had a nice evening.

Skirt steak is the best. Prime rib also great, "king cut" very impressive. Frank's is a consistent place and our family always enjoys it. Doesn't pretend to be Manhattan top tier, and doesn't need to be.
We waited about 10 minutes to be seated , but wasn’t a big deal at all honestly. I took my fiancé here for New Years Eve dinner. Everything was lovely , right down to our waitress . We sat at table 42 , which I now want to sit here everytime.
We made a very last minute New Year's Eve reservation for 10PM - restaurant was quite busy when we arrived - several groups were standing in the foyer area waiting to be seated; however, the staff members we encountered were nothing less than cordial and professional. But , the best part of the evening had to be our server - Billy! He truly made the night a pleasure - a seasoned professional in the restaurant industry. After working a full night - he happily greeted us; made great menu suggestions as to the cuts of meat and proper cooking temperatures ; and - checked in on us - but, not too much!!
I am not a meat eater usually - but, Billy suggested the petite filet mignon platter which was the perfect size - and very tasty!! We also had a really good German Riesling which I now have to find!
For last minute plans - we had a wonderful New Year's Eve @ Franks! Ask for Billy!!
