Frank's Steaks - Jericho Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing. We went for our anniversary and ordered a Caesar salad to share. It was pretty bland, although my Honey liked the dressing, I did not. He also did better with his Queen cut prime rib, which was cooked to his order. My Filet Mignon was overdone and a bit tough, as was the crab meat overcooked on top. The Béarnaise Sauce was not very good either. Meals do not come with any potato or veggie. Everything costs extra. I had been here before and remembered it being better. It may be under new management since then. Definitely not worth the price and we would not return.
My wife and I were at Frank’s 11/11/17 for an 8 o’clock reservation. The Petite Skirt Steak both of us ordered was outstanding as usual. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes that accompany the dish are so tasty. We were a little disappointed with the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. Our server, Billy, provided excellent service and checked on us several times throughout the dinner. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming. I recommend Frank’s Steaks in Jericho.
We were looking to eat someone near the Westbury Theater. Franks looked like a nice place so we gave it a try. The restaurant was packed which was a good sign to start off with. The service was pleasant quick and attentive since we only had 90 minutes to order and eat. The food was cooked perfectly and they got us out in plenty of time. I️ will return here when we are not watching the clock so we could try their deserts. I️ would definitely recommend Franks
We were a table for four. We have dined at Franks Steaks about 15 times and have been
completely satisfied in the past. All four meals were below the expected, compared to
our past experience this was a one out of ten. Perhaps this was just one time.
We dine out often. We never complain. We rarely return when dissatisfied .
Great steaks. Traditional steakhouse décor. Not located in the heart of town, makes it a bit of a hidden gem. It is pricey, but what good steak place isn't these days? And, they do have several moderately priced choices on the menu. You really can't go wrong here for a nice steak with friends.
If I'm looking for the best, I'm a Peter Lugar's man, but I don't always want to deal with the crowds and prices there. Frank's is a nice alternative.
Always enjoy the Skirt Steak here, tastes great, huge portion. Last time I thought the Bacon Slab was better, but there's no such thing as bad bacon. My wife's tuna was huge and melted in her mouth. Baked clams were small but tasty - and I think they threw in a 9th so we had an even split amongst the 3 of us.
I was very disappointed with my dinner at Frank's on 10/8/17. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a number of years so, I was looking forward to this return visit. It was not a good reunion.n I cannot believe the reduction in the quality of food and preparation. My two dinner guests ordered calves liver and both their portions were thick and over-cooked. I had a skirt steak that was edible but, again, not nearly as good as I'd remembered; it was not as tender as I'd recalled although the signature sauce was excellent. The sides also left much to be desired: the mashed potatoes were not as creamy nor flavorful as they used to be; the broccoli-in-garlic was warm and soon turned cold. The calamari entree was probably the tastiest item we ordered, even as it sat in a bowl with grease dripping in its bottom (why?). Elliott, the owner/manager stopped by our table to say, "Hello", and it was nice to see him again after a number of years. However, we did not complain at the time; perhaps, it was because the service was fine--- Christine, our waitress, was very agreeable and we wanted to make it to our concert at the Westbury Theater. I wish the food and we were served had been as good as Christine.
At this point, I regret I am not able to recommend Frank's Steaks--- it really used to be so good.
Disappointing. Honestly I've never had a good meal there. Maybe bad luck? We ate there last Sunday after a movie. It was convenient to the theater. Neither of us too hungry. I ordered meat loaf. Two pieces. Very over cooked and tasteless. I barely ate one piece and left the rest over.
Wife ordered stuffed shrimp. No flavor with a strange texture. The sour cream for the baked potatoes had a wrong taste and might have been spoiled.
I know.. maybe we should have ordered steaks. But shouldn't all dishes on the menu satisfy?
The place was crowded. Seems to have a good reputation. Just wondering why we've never had a great meal there. Oh... and $15 for a cocktail seems a little high
I found the meal to be very delightful with the exception of the appetizer ,blue cheese dressing Leaves a lot to be desired .I would not recommend that and as for the pricing, a little bit pricey. This is also one of the very few Steak houses that don't offer a veal chop or pork chop, very disappointing..
a little disappointed this time.Took along time for food to come out my Dad and I ordered prime rib.was a little tough. Our friend who was with us ordered his usual cowboy steak. It came out cold and had to be sent back to reheat. They felt bad about the wait time so they told us dessert was on them.I ordered the chocolate mousse often a favorite. It came out sour,I didn't complain since we weren't charged but it was not fresh.I have been coming here for years and have found this to be the case where sometimes the food is fabulous and other times its just ok
Franks which is almost within walking distance has always been a go to place for very good food. I just started a low carb diet the G& G salad and a piece of Prime Rib with some garlic spinach really fit the bill. It was delicious...girlfriend enjoyed the shrimp scampi, too!
One of the first times we've been disappointed in the meals we received, being a rib eye and fillet overcooked from a medium rare request and my wife had a rack of lamb that was very under-cooked. The service was terrific and the coffee ice cream cake or whatever was outstanding and shared by 3 of us. The ceasar salad was ok.
The food was delicious!! WE had oysters for an appetizer...shared between 4 people. Two of us had the petite filet mignon a la oscar...amazing! The others had the reg. sized filet mignon, and prime rib; both were wonderful. Our waitresses were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We were served promptly, with plenty of time to make our show!
The overall food was slightly above average but the service was terrible. The hostess seemed like she had no idea how to seat people. Our waiter was flustered and annoyed the whole evening. He said that was because he claimed the manager under staffed the placed leaving him with too many tables so I guess that made it OK for him to act unprofessionally. He literally threw our plates in front of us and ran to the next table. He spilled the jar of milk. He didn't bring us our soda drinks. Several other tables had to send their food back because it wasn't what they ordered. For the prices Frank's charges, they should have competent hosts and servers and much better food. I don't think we'll be going back. If my wife and I want to pay over $100 for a steak dinner, we'll go to Ruth Chris. At least there, we'll know that we are getting our money's worth.
